THE ASCENSION VS. THE ROCK N' ROLL EXPRESS, EC3, LITTLE GUIDO, DORING, RAY JAZ & MORE: COMPLETE OUTLAW WRESTLING COVERAGE FROM LONG ISLAND, NY

By Mike Johnson on 2022-02-25 20:03:00

We are live at Outlaw Wrestling's return to The Bay Shore Brewery in  Bay Shore, Long Island!

My view of the ring is a bit skewed as I am actually in a side room watching through a window, but my guess is there's 350-450 or so fans in attendance.

The Administration (Pedro Dones and Damian Adams) vs The Righteous (Dutch & Vincent)

Big reaction for Vincent and Dutch.     Vincent played to the crowd early, playing mind games with Dones.   They locked up and went back and forth, working over each other's arms.  Vincent took down Done, which the crowd popped for.  Adams tagged in and they doubleteamed Vincent with a double back elbow but Vincent regained control and tagged in Dutch.  They drilled Dones with double headbutts.  Dutch took him down and scored a two count.

The Righteous tagged in and out, working over Dones for some time.  Vincent nailed a back suplex for a two count.  Adams drilled Vincent from behind as he rebounded the ropes.  Vincent was worked over.  Adams raked Vincent's back.   They tagged in and out, beating down Vincent, who kept trying to fight back but was taken down again.  Vincent made the tag but the referee missed it and forced Dutch back to his corner.  Vincent finally avoided a charge in the corner and made the hot tag to Dutch.

Dutch cleaned house, getting big pops for his clotheslines and slams.    He covered Dones after a big elbow but the pin was broken up.  Vincent nailed a DVDR and they scored the pin.

Your winner, The Righteous!

Pretty different to see them working the babyface in peril role, but it was the right thing for the story.  A really solid tag match with some fun old school elements to build up to the finish.

Ray Jaz vs. Little Guido

Jaz was booed for being from New Jersey.  Big pop for Guido.  They did a lot of grappling early and faced off.  The crowd liked it.   Jaz got frustrated and backed off, trying to figure out what his next move was.  Guido started doing squats in the ring while he waited.  Guido was shoulderblocked down as Jaz rebounded off the ropes.  They went back and forth before facing off again with Guido driving Jaz nuts by mocking him.

Jaz slammed Guido.  He started to control the momentum of the bout, hiptossing Guido over.    Guido mounted a comeback but was grabbed and tossed to the floor.  Jaz followed him to the outside, working over Guido.  They battled back and forth.  Guido was tossed back in the ring, where Jaz stomped him.  Jaz suplexed him over and covered Guido for a two count.  The crowd chanted "ECW" to try and rally Guido.

Guido mounted a comeback with chops and kicks to the legs.  He cut off Jaz charging him and nailed the Sicilian Slice legdrop off the second rope for a near fall.  Jaz reversed a sunset flip and covered Guido for the pin.

Your winner, Ray Jaz!

A nice back and forth match with some fun grappling.  Jaz is one to watch in the weeks and months ahead.

Tina San Antonio vs JC Storm

Storm came out carrying a glowing, fluffy cloud.  I thought that was a great way to get herself a reaction from the kids in attendance.

They locked up and went back and forth.  Storm was whipped into the corner bur avoided the charge and grabbed an armwringer.  Tina came back with a big clothesline and controlled Storm.  She controlled Storm for some time and dropped a big elbow for a two count.  She used her boot to smother Storm in the corner.

Storm came back with a spinning head scissor.  Storm used an airplane spin.  She nailed a spear for the pin.

Your winner, JC Storm!

Solid match.

They announced there is an open challenge tonight from Manbun Jesus, who came to the ring with his mascot, The Groovy Grizzly.  These are the two who were on Judge Jerry Springer a few months back.

The challenge was accepted by EC3, who was booked as a surprise.

EC3 vs. Manbun Jesus

It was a quick win for EC3.

Tommy Dreamer & Beer Belly Bandits vs Danny Doring & The Audacity

Doring and Dreamer started out with Doring stalling like Larry Zbyszko.  The Audacity and the Bandits battled over a double suplex, with the Bandits winning that exchange.  Doring took over on Dreamer, nailing a series of elbows.   Dreamer came back with a hiptoss and several elbows.  He had his eyes raked but came back to nail a double elbow on Doring with one of the Bandits.    They battled back and forth.

Doring and the Audacity worked over one of the Bandits for some time while the other babyfaces tried to rally the crowd.  Dreamer finally made the hot tag and rained down with punches before biting one of the Audacity.  He covered him but it was broken out.  They all brawled to the floor.  Dreamer nailed Doring with a beer.  Back in the ring, Dreamer did the old Flip Flop and Fly Dusty elbows.  Doring cut him off and nailed the Bareback.  This set off a series of big spots.

The villains grabbed Dreamer to cane him.  Dreamer escaped and started nailing Doring with the cane.  Dreamer nailed the Spicoli Driver and scored the pin.

Your winners, Tommy Dreamer and The Beer Belly Bandits!

A fun tag match with all the highspots and shenanigans to pop the crowd.

Dreamer did a speech after putting over independent wrestling and thanking everyone for supporting him.

They are now at intermission.

Best of 5: Match #1 Encore Moore vs Jaden Valo

Moore had a nice, high energy entrance.  They had a really damn good back and forth match with some nice near falls before Valo scored the pin.  My vantage point didn't give me the best position to do play by play here but they had a lot of energy and the fans were into the bout.  The idea here is to do a longer program obviously and build them each over the course of the feud.  They were off to a great start.

Rock N Roll Express vs The Ascension

Big pop for Ricky Morton and Robert Gibson.  They were over.  It took a long time for the match to start as everyone was sizing the other up.  Morton and Gibson double teamed Big Kon.  The Ascension played to the crowd and got some nice heat.  They cornered Morton and spent a lot of time working him over.  Morton was sent into the ropes and nailed a shoulderblock that knocked Kon down.  Lots of Rock N' Roll chants.   Gibson nailed a double noggin knocker.  The Ascension were sent into each other.  Everyone brawled.  Morton surprised someone with a small package for the win.

Your winners, The Rock N' Roll Express!

Big Kon took the mic after and said, as a shoot, Morton and Gibson are two of the best men in the tag team division.  He said that not only are they badasses but they are humble.  He said back in 2006, Gibson was one of his coaches, so it was an honor to be in the ring with him for the first time ever in front of everyone here tonight.  They have paid the way with their time, blood, loss of time with families to set the stage so The Ascension now can feed their families and that's cool.

Morton took the mic and said they are the past but The Ascension are the future.  He said that without the fans, none of them could be here, so thanks to you.  There is no one who loves the business more than those in the ring do and they couldn't do it without the fans.  He's 65 and he got to live his dreams.  It's time for others to go and do the same.

A solid match that the crowd enjoyed.  They were here to see Morton and Gibson and enjoyed their antics.

Willy Wise vs. Alvin Alvarez

The crowd was all over Alvarez as Willy is the local, well known babyface.  Alvin tried to bully Wise, who fired away with a series of clotheslines that the place exploded for.    Alvin went to the floor to try and regroup.   They battled on the floor.   They returned to the ring, where Alvin nailed a big legdrop for a two count.  Wise was locked in a chinlock and battled his way out.    Wise made a comeback and scored several two counts.    He had Alvin beat but Ray Jaz hit the ring and attacked him.

Your winner by DQ, Willy Wise!

They beat him down.  Bull James hit the ring for the save.  He nailed a series of rights and a big Bionic Elbow.

James took the mic and said he had an idea, a tag team match next time they are here.    It was made official.  James left Wise to send the crowd home happy as it's his hometown.  They will be back but don't have a locked in date as of yet.  It was the first independent event I've been to in two years locally and it was really nice to see the energy in the building, especially from afar.

Notes: The promotion returns 3/3 to Queens, NY with Killer Kross vs. Homicide and Luke Gallows appearing...Dmitrious Papadon was visiting at the show.
