It is Wednesday and AEW Dynamite is at the Webster Bank Arena in Bridgeport, CT. Our commentary team is Jim Ross, Excalibur, and Tony Schiavone. The show s starting with a Tag Team Battle Royale, and I am glad I do not have to do the play by play for this sort of chaos.
10 team Tag Team Battle Royal for a chance at the World Championship at Revolution.
All of the tag teams are outside the ring and when the bell rings, 10 teams get into the ring and start battling. These matches are all about spectacle, and it’s hard to get any sort of story out of it.
Santana eliminates the Gunn Club, and I liked that before eliminating the second member of the team, Santana stood behind him, gave a thumbs up, smiled and then dumped him out of the ring. Most fo the elimination in the first part fo the match is only one member of the team being removed. Private Party is dumped out one after the other. Once they are dumped, Matt Hardy walks away from his team.
Santana eliminate 2.0, and then we get a face off between the Young Bucks and FTR, with reDRagon helping out the Bucks. When Trent Beretta is dumped out of the ring, Orange Cassidy comes out from under the ring to left him back into the ring on his shoulders. The move to picture in picture and that means any eliminations during that time won’t be as easy to see.
When they return to full screen, Tully Blanchard tries to help John Silver’s elimination, but it backfires and Cash Wheeler is eliminated, so no complete team are left. Everyone gets a spotlight to show what they are doing. Trent and Santana go face to face and the crowd cheers for it. They fight on the apron and get eliminated by Matt Jackson and Kyle O’Reilly. The last four men square off and start brawling.
Dax Harwood gets eliminated, and we are left with Santana, Matt Jackson and John Silver. O’Reilly acts as if he his shoulder is hurt and motions for Matt Jackson to eliminate John Silver, and as Matt is doing so, Kyle dumps Matt and gets the win.
Your Winners and going on to the Tag Team Championship Match at Revolution: reDRagon
As the Bucks are aruging with reDRagon, Adam Page comes to the ring and takes out reDRagon and the Bucks do nothing. The Bucks leave the ring, and Adam Cole sneaks in to get an attack, but Page drops him. Page sets up for the Buckshot lariat, and reDragon pull him out. John Silver then tosses Kyle back in the ring to take the Buckshot Lariat. There’s a chair in the ring, and Page asks who is read with storytime with Adam Page
Page uses Cole’s story time promo style and tells the story of how Cole has got himself into a match with Page, but he will lose to a buckshot lariat.
In the back, Bryan Danielson is with Tony Schiavone, and Bryan talks about how Daniel Garcia is a good wrestler, but his mentors, 2.0 are doing nothing for him. Bryan then says that he will give Jon Moxley his answer after his match with Daniel Garcia.
MJF is on his way to the ring. He’s alone in street clothes and he asks for the music to be cut. He asks the crowd to give him a moment and talks about the picture Punk showed last week of Punk at a signing. He then says that at one point of his life, wrestling was the only reason he got out of bed. And he says that the day of that picture it meant the world to him. He says he had learning disabilities, but the only thing he was good at was football.
He said that playing football mad him feel like he fit in, and when he sees other members of the football team, and he thinks they would be friends, but instead they threw quarters at him because he was Jewish. The only thing that made him stop crying after that was that he would see CM Punk that night. He vowed he would be like CM Punk. He talks about how Punk quitting made him bury his dreams. Later, in college, he sees a picture of Punk shaking hands with Bryan Danielson.
He made a promise that he would become the best in the world despite Punk. He will beat Punk because Punk abandoned him when he needed him most.
Punk then comes to the ring with a Save Ferris shirt. Punk stands on the apron and they face each other. Punk enters the ring and walks toward MJF slowly. Punk asks if it’s true. MJF leaves the ring without saying anything.
That was fantastic.
Backstage, Tony is with 2.0 and Daniel Garcia. 2.0 tell Bryan that they will give him a lesson on how good they are.
Kings of the Black Throne vs Pac and Penta Oscuro (Penta El Zero Muero’s darker name)
In the arena, the lights go out for the Black Throne’s entrance, and now they are Kings of the Black Throne whereas last time the were Knights of the Black Throne. Guess they got an upgrade. As Pac enters, he and Malachi Black lock eye and never avert their gaze. Really makes both men look like violent bad asses.
All four men start throwing hands before the bell. As the bell rings, Pac hits a 450 on Black for a two count. Penta tags in and keeps Black in their corner and tags in Pac. Black is able to bring Pac to his corner and Brody King is tags in and he gets a quick two count as we go picture in picture.
JR’s line about Brody: He’s got about 100 pounds of ink on him.
When they return to full screen, King beats down Pac, tosses him aside and calls for Penta. Panta comes in and attacks. King puts Pac on Penta’s shoulders, slaps Pac which causes them to flip and roll knocks them out of the ring. Brody goes to the ropes, Black tag him, and Brody hits a topi onto Penta. Pac comes into the ring and in immediately attacks by Black and his a German and holds on for the two count broken up by Penta.
King is tagged in and Pac dodges a kick from Black, which then hits King. All four men are in the ring and immediately down after hits from Penta and King. Pac uses King to knock Black out fo the ring, and Pac is abvle to hit a series of kicks on King. King is tosses to his corner and hit with a German suplex, but Balck gets a blind tag. Penta and Pac set up for a move on King, but Black some in. Penta immediately puts his hand over Black’s mouth so the black mist can’t be sprayed. Penta then rolls up Black for the three.
Your winners: Pac and Penta
Black is choking on his mist, but King slams Pac onto Petna and keeps beating them down. Black recove4rs outside the ring, swings some water and comes into the ring with a shovel. Pentya is left laying as Black puts the chovel on Penta’s throat. The lights go out and when they come back up, it/s Buddy Matthews in the middle of the ring.
Black freaks out and Buddy circles Black. Instead, Buddy attacks Pac and Penta. King takes out the officials running to the ring and Buddy keeps attacking Penta, and then he goes face to face with Black. King tosses in a chair. Buddy holds Penta as Black places the chair in the middle of the ring. Black then tells Buddy something inhis ear. Buddy then hits a stomp onto Penta’;s head, driving him into the chair.
The lights go out again.
When they come up, the House of Black are gone.
We get a video package of Thunder Rosa vs Britt Baker.
Eddie Kingston is now heading to the ring for his face to face confrontation with Chris Jericho. There is security in the ring as Jericho enters. Eddie asks about the security, and Jericho says he asks for them so they can talk like men instead of street thugs like Eddie. Eddie says Jericho doesn’t know what a street thug is. Eddie says he’s rather just fight and asks for two women to come out and fight, and he tells Jericho this isn’t sports entertainment and to go down the black.
Jericho says he will tell a story about Eddie Kingston. Jericho says he had no idea of Kingston was. He then says the reason he’d never heard of him before is because he looked like a jobber, but after watching his match, he said that this guy is good. He says he told Eddie he would be a huge babyface because the crowd would love him. And now Eddie made it to the big time, but Jericho didn’t care about his story or him. Because Eddie is jealous of Jericho. Deep down inside, he thinsk Eddie thinks he will never be at Jericho’s level.
Eddie says he doesn’t care about Jericho’s success. He’s a different kind of cat. He will be who he is until he dies. Eddie says he doesn’t want to talk to him. He just wants to fight at the pay per view.
Jericho asks if Eddie knows about fear of success. Jericho says he is scared to succeed. Jericho says that he’s read about Eddie and all of Eddie’s male role models turned out to be failures. And Eddie can’t win the big one. He agrees to meet Eddie at the Pay Per View, and if Eddie wins, Jericho will shake his hand and he has Jericho's ultimate respect.
Eddie says not to give the Jericho in the Mimosa match or got shoved off a cage by MJF, but the one who has fought and bled and won. Because if he doesn’t Eddie’s gonna eat him alive. Jericho says he will give him that Jericho, and he is nothing more than a loser and he can’t win the big one.
Nice confrontation.
In the back, Matt Hardy is in the stairway again with the Hardy Family Office about Andrade’s match the Sammy Guevara. Matt then sets up a match for Matt, Andrade and Isiah Kassidy vs Sammy Guevara, Sting and Darby Allin at Revolution.

When Bunny fired up at the end, the crowd was LOUDLY behind her.

The music starts and Tay Conti is out with her own mic. Shje says she’s not next, she’s gonna beat her ass and gets into Jade’s face. Your winner: Bryan Danielson
Bryan grabs a mic and says that it was what he wanted to see. He asks the crowd is he was violent enough, and 2.0 attacks Bryan in the ring. Jon Moxley then comes through the crowd to save Bryan. Garcia goes after Mox with a chair, but Bryan grabs the chair and Mox takes out Garcia with the paradigm shift.
Mox and Bryan go face to face and Bryan grabs a mic. Bryan says so if they work together, they have to bleed together, so they will be fighting at Revolution, but don’t’ be surprised if he’s the only person bleeding.
