On his podcast with Conrad Thompson, Kurt Angle confirmed our report that at one point, he was slated for the WWE Elimination Chamber PPV over the weekend. Angle stated the plan was for him to referee a bout between RK-Bro and Alpha Academy, which obviously didn't take place as the creative changed. Angle noted he is not under contract to WWE. He was backstage at the Royal Rumble last month and took part in filming episode of Table for 3 and other future content for WWE Network.
WWE Hall of Famer Rob Van Dam will return to the ring on 3/12 for Over The Top Wrestling's Scrappermania 2022 in Dublin, Ireland at The National Stadium, facing Scotty Davis. Others slated for the event include Scotty Too Hotty, Swerve Strickland, OTT Champion Mark Haskins, Jordan Devlin, Session Moth Martina, OTT Champion Mark Haskins and more. The theme for the show is Ireland vs. The World.
The official press release for the show reads:
Rob Van Dam, Jordan Devlin, Shane "Swerve The Realest" Strickland & Scotty 2 Hotty are set to appear at Over The Top Wrestling Scrappermania 6 at the National Stadium in Dublin on March 12th.
This will be OTT's return to the venue for the first time in two and a half years after the pandemic and will see Ireland take on The World.
