AAA “Rey De Reyes” results from Veracruz, Mexico at Estadio Universitario Beto Avila on 2/19/22 live on FITE:
Rudo Aracno pinned the Tecnico Aracno after interference from Terror Purpura. The rudos beat him up and dragged him to the back after the match. This was the Marvel themed match with Spider-Man gimmicks.
Joe Dombrowski and Larry Dallas are the English commentary team.
Fenix came out to talk to the crowd. He told the fans he can’t wrestle tonight because of his injury. He said he will return stronger and faster. Taya Valkyrie came out with Pentagon Jr. to join Fenix in the ring. She spoke in Spanish and English and called out Reina de Reinas Champion Deonna Purrazzo, who is not here because she worked the Impact Wrestling show tonight in a successful ROH Title defense against Miranda Alize.
Taya Valkyrie won a 4-Way Match over Flammer, Maravilla, Keyra, and Lady Shani by pinning Shani after the Road To Valhalla. Rudo ref Tirantes Jr. was the referee and he helped Valkyrie as Shani had her in a submission hold. He also refused to make counts when the rudos in the match were covered for a pin at times. His father came out after the match to protest his officiating and chased after him to the back. The announcers said the win for Valkyrie will put her in contention for a future title shot.
Los Vipers came out to do a promo segment. Pagano interrupted and tried to fight all of them but they all stomped him down.
This show is difficult to watch as English commentary is overlapping at times with Hugo Savinovich and Jose Manuel Guillen doing their commentary.
Latigo, Abismo Negro Jr, Psicosis beat Myzteziz Jr., Mr. Iguana, and Nino Hamburguesa when they all piled up on Myzteziz Jr for the pin.
AAA Mixed Tag Team Champions Chik Tormenta and Arez won a 3-Way Tag Team Lumberjack Match over La Hiedra and Villano III Jr. …Octagon Jr. and Sexy Star when Arez pinned Star with a driver. After the match, Sam Adonis and the rest of La Empresa attacked Hiedra and Villano III Jr. The lumberjacks all had straps as a weapon. Tirantes Jr. was the referee. Tirantes Sr. was one of the lumberjacks and he whipped his son with the strap at one point when he got out of the ring.
The did a really nice and lengthy memorial video tribute for Arturo Rivera. The roster was in the ring and surrounding the ring for the very classy segment. The audio problems are fixed so now we can only hear English and we couldn’t hear what Savinovich and Guillen had to say about Rivera. They were shown on camera talking about him.
Carlos Cabrera came out to speak briefly but you couldn’t hear him either over the English feed. He joined the Spanish table. He is reunited tonight with Savinovich from their WWE days.
L.A Park, L.A. Park Jr, and El Hijo de L.A. Park won a 3-Way Tag Team Match over Puma King, Sam Adonis, and DMT Azul… Sanson, El Cuatrero, and Forasteo (NGD)… by Disqualification. La Hiedra, Villano III Jr., and Rey Escorpion ran in and attacked Adonis, King, and Azul. The replay showed one of the NGD members shove the referee and the referee declared the Parks the winners.
The Rey De Reyes Match is next. Two start off then another enters every minute.
Laredo Kid vs. Bandido started it off. Pyscho Clown was #3. Cibernetico was #4. Heavy Metal was #5 and the surprise entrant. This is his first time back in AAA and he’s a AAA original. Pyscho Clown won the match by pinning Cibernetico after Pagano ran in and hit Cibernetico with a chair. This was one fall and not elimination rules. Clown was given the big sword as the victory prize.
Pentagon Jr. pinned Dralistico with a roll up. A couple of minutes before the finish, Pentagon was about to win after the package piledriver but Dragon Lee ran down and pulled referee Tirantes out of the ring. Lee helped Dralistico stomp Pentagon and they took off his mask. Fenix tried to run down to help but he was held back on the stage by two medics since he’s injured. Lee tried to go after Fenix and that caused Dralistico to be distracted for Pentagon to get the pin. Lee and Dralistico beat up Pentagon again after the match and they unmasked him a second time. They got on the mic and said they will show the Lucha Brothers that they are the best brother tag team in AAA.
AAA Mega Champion Hijo Del Vikingo pinned John Superstar (aka John Morrison) after the reverse 450 Splash. This was an outdoor venue and it was raining hard during the match, making the ropes slippery at times.
