This week's Ring of Honor TV celebrated ROH Hall of Fame inductee Bryan Danielson.
ROH Champion Bryan Danielson vs. KENTA - NYC at the Manhattan Center's Grand Ballroom
This match was six months in the making, was the only match worthy of headlining such an important show for ROH, and saw Danielson come in as the overwhelming underdog despite being the champion. For one, KENTA had already pinned Danielson twice in non-title matches earlier in the year, and ran up an undefeated streak that nobody had managed to break. Low Ki, Danielson, Austin Aries, Roderick Strong, Davey Richards, and others had all tried and failed to beat him, and that history told us it was highly unlikely that Danielson would be able to hold him off here, either.
KENTA gave Danielson his best shots, but the champion wouldn't be denied, and he threw everything he had at KENTA, including the MMA elbows, the crossface chickenwing, and then finally tapped him out to Cattle Mutilation to score the win and reach the one-year mark as ROH World Champion.

Danielson came prepared for the Pure Wrestling environment and actually ran McGuinness through his rope breaks fairly quickly. McGuinness was totally overwhelmed and, despite mounting a couple of brief offenses, Danielson brutally smashed Nigel's head into the ringpost over and over until he busted open and blood started pouring down Nigel's face. Nigel fought for his life and ended up exchanging headbutts with Danielson in another brutal exchange, but in the end Danielson trapped Nigel's arms rocked him with his patented MMA elbowstrikes until the referee stopped the match and declared Danielson the new unified ROH World/Pure Champion.
