WWR+ “Galentine’s Day Massacre”

2/13/22 Worcester, MA

Now available on IWTV.live

It’s Super Bowl Sunday but before the coin flips, WWR+ is back with a stacked card and a VERY intriguing main event. I’m out of town this week and playing catch-up on the VOD this morning…but I have Twitter and do know the aftermath of this show…and there absolutely IS some….time to see how certain things happened and why CHOICES were made. Rich Palladino is your announcer! Paul Crockett and Sam

Laterna are at the commentary table.

The IWTV kicks right off with Love Doug coming out in giant Cupid wings. It’s time for Douglas to stop being so loveless…will he finally find his Valentine? He has a table set up in the ring with champagne, roses, candy, hearts…music hits…who is answering his call for a date? Karen Bam Bam is here! Doug pulls out her chair like a gentlemen. He’s nervous and spills a vase of water and flowers on her. He apologizes and offers champagne but accidentally pops the cork into her eye. He tries to check on her but she throws him over the table to the floor. Karen says she didn’t come her for a date…she wants to wrestle! The refs clear the ring and it looks like this is a match now! Doug looks so sad.

Match 1: Love Doug vs Karen Bam Bam

Doug grabs a waist lock but Karen hip checks him off. He trips her up and gets down on a knee and proposes marriage. Karen takes the ring and hits a Samoan drop. Karen runs into a boot, crossbody from the top! Bam Bam with a body slam and a basement cannonball smushes Doug into the mat. Karen traps him in the second buckle and sitout splashes him to the mat. She puts on her conductors hat and hits the “Squish a Bish Express” (Banzai Drop) for the three. Love is down but not dead…Karen pulls him back to his feet for a smooch.

Winner: Karen Bam Bam

Match 2: “The Ephemeral Queen” Edith Surreal vs “The Spice Ranger” Kayla Sparks

Kayla  has has good showings in WWR+ but has only been on the losing side so far. Edith has more recent ringtime and a huge size advantage on Sparks..and uses it early to twist up the legs. Kayla with a headlock takedown but Edith gets a head scissor on. Edith breaks out of a full Nelson and sinks in a deathlock. Sparks drags it to the ropes but she’s hurting. Edith with a big boot to the knee and she has a TARGET on that limb for sure. Edith with a drop onto the knee and drop kicks it out of the corner. Edith puts a sharpshooter on with the post as leverage….twist into a STF. Kayla fighting out of the corner but Edith kicks out the legs again. Edith with a rollup stump puller…this was a cool but OWWWW looking maneuver. Kayla finally getting some offense…Tornado ddt for two! Back elbow and German from Edith! Kayla tries to reverse but Surreal dropkicks the knee and sinks in a deathlock for the tap out. Kayla got absolutely brutalized in this one.

Winner: Edith Surreal

Match 3: “The Total Diva” Paris Van Dale vs Shannon LaVangie

Paris with a slap at the bell and LaVangie hits one right back. Sitout powerbomb for two by Shannon. Running boot, she tries a crossface and Paris is out of there immediately. Shannon kicks out, Paris rocked with a superkick and LaVangie hits a cutter for the pin!

Match 4: “The God Queen” Delmi Exo vs Little Mean Kathleen

Exo is not a sea star tonight. This is a clear new mindset and attitude she’s sporting today against LMK. LMK herself can’t be doing good after that attack she endured from Channing Thomas last Thursday. She’s full of energy though! Exo pulls LMK into the ring for a hangman’s ddt right before the bell. She stretches the neck with her foot on the buckles. Delmi is torturing the neck of LMK. She almost eats a rollup as Delmi taunts the crowd. LMK kicks Exo down and hits a short ddt. Jody Threat is out here. Her original opponent Megan Bayne was announced to be out with a torn ACL. Ooooooooof :( Rest up and get well! Meanwhile, who is Threat’s opponent today? It’s ASHTON STARR! I guess AC Mack didn’t want to ride alone? The Southeast/Northeast feud portion of our show is getting rolling a little early today.

Match 6: “The Wild Child” Jody Threat vs Ashton Starr

Starr was in Worcester for “KEVINNNN!!!” at the Wrestival, defeating Davienne in one of the best matches of the day. Starr tries to wrap up Threat early but she’s out to a headlock but creates space for Starr to hit a cheap shot. Threat hitting big strikes, Starr pulls the hair but Threat makes him pay. Starr clotheslines over the top, cannonball to the floor! Starr with another cheap shot, Starr to the ropes and Starr hits an axe kick to the spine. Winner: Ashton Starr

Match 7: Allie Katch vs “The Timepiece” Ashley D’Amboise

We have no real reason to boo D’Amboise…except that she’s on the other side of Katch. Ashley is looking great in the early minutes, staying offensive and out working Allie with basics from the bell. Allie with a cartwheel dropkick takes control. Ashley lets her crack her shoulder to the buckles but falls into a chin lock. Ashley’s out but sits up into a sliding lariat.  D’Amboise out of a bow and arrow and wrenches at the shoulder more. Katch tries the piledriver but Ashley rolls it back into a pin attempt. Allie is enraged and runs into clotheslines and a flying headbutt for two. Katch out strikes Ashley but gets dragged into an armbar…Katch powers over in a pin attempt. Katch with a ripcord pele! Northern lights for two! Katch tries the pike driver again but Ashley wrench the arm and wraps a la magistral for two. Katch back out and finally spikes Ashley back with the piledriver for the win!

Winner: Allie Katch

Match 8:  Davienne vs Alisha Edwards

Davi is back on her “Dollars for Davienne” kick….Alisha ambushes her from behind as she’s collecting cash. Edwards yells at children at ringside while she lays in the early beatdown. Davienne sends her back and grabs the mic, saying she knew Edwards would try cheap s*** so she got this match made No DQ! Edwards is furious that she can’t escape a beating the easy way. Davienne chops her up in a ringside chair. Alisha rakes the eyes. She chokes Davienne with a cord! She grabs a pair of chairs and we have a good sit down bar fight! Davi boots her backwards to the floor! Edwards sends her to the post! Edwards grabs a long metal pipe and barely misses Davienne’s head against the post. Davi throwing big shots and crumbles Alisha in the corner. Ripcord lariat! Air raid crash for two! Sliding dropkick to the post, Daviend your Life! Alisha wiped out on the floor, Davi setting up for pain. We have a door and chairs set up. Alisha begging for mercy, Davi tries to toss her through the structure but Edwards hits a flatliner. Up to the top…Edwards wants a ddt but Davi is fighting. They knock the door structure down but Ref Quinn helps fix it…Davienne turns to help fix it, Alisha wakes up and slides off the top to powerbomb Davi through the door for the three!

Winner: Alisha Edwards

Match 9: Kings of the District (Jordan Blade & Eel O’Neal) vs Hardcore Geeks (Kennedi Copeland & Riley Shepard)

Hardcore Geeks have big swords to cross in their entrance. A fun tandem here! KOTD is a well oiled machine though. They are friendly though and they take a group picture before the bell. Copeland with a few quick pin attempts on Eel at the start. She starches him with a knee and they both tag out. Riley and Jordan are legit friends but Blade with a gutwrench slam to the canvas. Shepard eats a flurry of strikes, forearm to the back of the head and handsprings into Blade. Neckbreaker for two! Geeks trading chest kicks and keeping KOTD down. Double knee from KOTD and Shepard is down for the three!

Winners: King of the District

Willow Nightingale & AC Mack are out for the main event. The crowd is very actively chanting “Northeast” at Mack. They don’t like that this is a non-title match. They have streamers for Willow and he is bewildered m. AC Mack does his AC Mack thing and takes the mic away from Rich Palladino and makes Him hold his belt on high. “Not my Champ!” Yells the crowd. Denver Colorado is at ringside and calling Mack a coward. When he won the IWTV title at Southeast First, Mack said he wouldn’t defend it outside the South unless given good reason. Mack says he’ll make a deal with DC. Beyond Owner Denver Colorado has so much faith in Willow’s chances here that he bargains the rights for Beyond Wrestling’s Uncharted Territory 4th Season for Mack  to make this a title defense. Uh oh…DC why….why would you do this…if Mack wins, Uncharted Territory goes to the South. Ring the bell!

Main Event: “The Mack of All Trades” AC Mack(c) vs Willow Nightingale (Title vs Uncharted Territory match)

DC kicks Paul Crockett off commentary for this one. DC is so confident in Willow. In the ring, Mack is feeling the Babe’s power. Big crossbody for two. Backbreaker powerslam crumbles the champ! Corner cannonball! DC points out that Mack can’t keep Drew’s  name out of his mouth. Willow dropped to the apron, flying knee to the floor. The crowd chanting behind Willow as Mack asks DC if this is the best we have. Double knee in the corner and a dropkick to the back of Willow’s surgically repaired neck…kick out! Sam Laterna & DC put over Mack’s abilities as a wrestler and champ but take issue with his unwillingness to defend outside the South. Willow kicking back and throwing Mack on his head Into a seated octopus. Mack throws her out to the corner and tells the crowd to HUSH. Willow ducks a leg lariat! Clotheslines! Big spine buster! Kick out! DC says he can’t taste the title again. Willow thrown back to the corner, leg lariat  connects! Two count! AC tries the Mack 10  but Willow muscles out. Fight to the apron,  Willow with a DVD to the apron as the crowd chants “New champ!!!”. Willow misses a moonsault! Mack and Willow trade slaps and chops as the get to their feet. Mack drops down and hits a chop to the throat! Willow rebounds with a lariat but the ref is in the way and he’s dropped! Willow checks on the ref, backhands Willow but she flies back with a pounce! Ashton Starr is out here! He clubs Willow with the belt! We have a new ref! Not like this! Willow kicks out! Willow tries a rollup, Mack reverses it, the ref catches him grabbing the rope! Mack ducks a superkick, hits Willow with a gut kick and lands the Mack 10. Willow is down and takes the three. Denver Colorado drops his headset and walks slowly to the back. Beyond has lost Uncharted Territory! Oh no!!!! AC Mack and Ashton Starr celebrate their win as the crowd boos them and we go to black.

Winner (and still champ): AC Mack

Well…. F***…

And that’s that for “Galentine’s Day Massacre”! A lot of good matches on the card today and a lot of great performances but this show will be remembered for this MOMENT when DC, in a fit of utter bravado, lost the flagship weekly show of his promotion. What I AM loving here is how important the IWTV title feels again. Clearly we have a US/Canada thing brewing here between North and South. If AC Mack can elicit this kind of energy from the WWR+ crowd, imagine what he does at Beyond…or really any promotion he takes the title to. Uncharted Territory IS a good get for the South, giving their talent some extra weekly exposure and maybe put them in line for some of the same opportunities afforded UC standouts of the past. I do look forward to more news around that…and as it stands, Wrestling Open is currently doing a very good job of giving weekly exposure, letting Beyond focus on the bigger monthly shows that have been exceptionally good lately. Just don’t bet anymore shows, promotions or venues, DC. Mack is the champ for a REASON.

Beyond returns to action on 3/13 in Somerville with “Munky Business”. On that show: Biff Busick vs Wheeler Yuta. Max the Impaler vs Brian Milonas. Alec Price vs Kimber Lee. And the return of the Funky Munkey Angel Ortiz vs Jonathan Gresham! Wrestling Open is this Thursday and I’m sure we’ll here more from an emotional Denver Colorado about what transpired today!
