Future Stars of Wrestling results of “MECCA VII: Doomsday” from Las Vegas, Nevada, USA at Silver Nugget Casino on 2/4/22 live on FITE:
The broadcast opened with a great video package showing clips of the infamous cable televangelists (Kenneth Copeland, Robert Tilton, etc.) followed by glimpses of Killer Kross and Scarlett Bordeaux. New footage was then shown of CNN clips talking about COVID followed by a narration of Bible Prophecy. The song “The Man Comes Around” by Johnny Cash played with clips of past Kross matches mixed in with footage of weather destruction and civil unrest around the world to really highlight the Doomsday theme. This was better than anything that WWE, AEW, and Impact Wrestling has done recently with big event opening videos.
Melissa Santos is the ring announcer. Jake Black and D’Lo Brown are the broadcast team.
Remy Marcel pinned Willie Mack with an O’ Connor Roll.
The broadcast team said the card has changed for a few matches due to travel issues. Davey Richards and Sam Adonis were not able to make it.
Shogun and Hero Leu won a #1 con. FSW Tag Team Titles 3-Way Match over … Mondo Rox and Robbie Lit … Jakob Austin Young and Cut Throat Cody … by pinning Rox and Lit at the same time after a pair of full nelson slams.
Chris Bey pinned Matt Vandagriff after a cutter by catching Vandagriff in the air as he came off the top rope with the Firebird Splash. This was excellent with all kinds of high flying innovation. Vandagriff refused to shake hands after it was over. The announcers put it over as a show stealer and possibly the best match of the year.
FSW No Limits Champion Jai Vidal won a 4-Way Match over KC Navarro, Damien Drake, and Kenny King by pinning Navarro with the Power Bottom Bomb.
Killer Kross beat Jacob Fatu by referee stoppage with the choke hold finisher to win the vacant MECCA Title after Fatu pulled Scarlett Bordeaux in the ring as she tried to interfere and then she gave him a low blow and a Canadian Destroyer. Kross is back to having hair. He got on the mic before the match and said the vacant MECCA Title was on the line. This was his first match back on the indie scene after being released by WWE and the expiration of their 90 days no-compete clause. He and Bordeaux spent a lot of time hugging and shaking hands with FSW fans afterwards. He got back on the mic. He said he appeared in front of them for the first time 8 years ago and wanted to thank them for keeping the company going especially after the worst two years in recent history. He said he was put into a real weird situation on TV for months, but what had been created in FSW people got to see it in NXT which was awesome to him. He said he’s really glad to be back and he can’t wait to see everyone again on the next show. He said the glass is alway half full.
John Morrison was the first MECCA Champion and the title was vacated when he returned to WWE in 2020.
Funny Bone pinned Sandra Moone after a Tombstone. He shook her hand after the match and got the crowd to chant her name. She is currently the FSW Women’s Champion.
FSW Heavyweight Champion Hammerstone won a 3-Way Match over TJ Perkins and Brian Cage by submitting TJP to a torture rack backbreaker.
