NIA JAX TURNED DOWN ROYAL RUMBLE RETURN & MORE

By Mike Johnson & Paul Jordan on 2022-02-01 11:25:00

The former Nia Jax, Lina Fanene, appeared on the latest episode of Renée Paquette's podcast "The Sessions" in a very open and honest discussion about her WWE experience.

During the conversation, Fanene noted that she was called and asked about returning to the company for a Royal Rumble appearance and her response to that idea was "F*** No" and that was she was not coming back.  She noted she was still being paid by the company under her 90-day non-compete so there was no reason for them to pay her for the appearance and shut the idea down.

During the conversation, Fanene also discussed the infamous moment she busted Becky Lynch open on Raw, setting Lynch's career on fire in the process.  She noted that a Producer told her the brawl needed to look legit and she  inadvertently drilled Lynch, causing the blood.   She apologized to Vince McMahon after was told, "It's not ballet."  She noted that she apologized over and over to Lynch backstage and via texts.

Fanene did not shoot down the idea of returning to professional wrestling, but noted she has other priorities right now, including potentially starting a family.  She also noted she is still waiting for half of her belongings to be returned by the company.

Fanene also discusses changes on the corporate level that made working there feel so different, the story behind her sabbatical regarding her mental health and the call that led to her WWE release, why she chose not to get vaccinated for COVID-19, reacting to online criticisms that she injures colleagues, her family defending her online, misconceptions regarding her relationship with The Rock, filming Total Divas and more.
