Dustin Waller is out, Sam Laterna interviews him. He says he broke his foot against Alec Price last week…and wrestled 15 more minutes on it. Why is he here tonight? He has some good news…his partner Kylon King IS here this week and will fight Alec Price in the main event. He’s not cleared to even be at ringside…but he will be on commentary with Paul in the main tonight. Also, he has words for Bryce Donovan…he didn’t forget about what he did. Miracle Generation is coming for the Shook Crew.

Ray Jaz is out to give us his Jaz Tip of the Day. Actions speak louder than words. He should stop talking then, I guess. Apparently VR is bad too. When will SLADE kill him? Oh…oh…ok…this will do.

Match 2: “The Jersey Legend” Ray Jaz vs Tyree Taylor

Jaz is trying to stay away from Taylor but immediately gets picked up when he chooses to engage. Taylor eats a dropkick, flips into the ring and levels Jaz with a shoulder block. Match 3: “The New Jersey Cowboy” Steven Stetson vs “Megasus” Megan Bayne

We were just swearing about New Jersey in the last match and now cheering Stetson? I guess the Yee Haws trump the Jersey stank? Either way, Stetson is gonna die. The crowd knows this too. Bayne locks up and runs him into the corner. Shoulder blocks in the corner, another comes running, body slam. Stetson catches her with a spin out slam and tries to stay on top with stomps and slams of his own. Stetson lassos Megasus in and she chops her way back out of trouble…but runs into a big boot. Match 4: Antonio Zambrano vs Dan Barry

Zambrano is ALSO from Jersey. And completely hateable! Also he’s against Dan Barry and we love this guy. “Let’s hear it for Tony Zamboni!” says Barry. Dan Barry easily outwrestles Zambrano in the early moments, sending him to the ropes and kicking out of several quick pins. Zambrano is gonna make a fool of Barry…and immediately gets pulled down into a side headlock. Barry controls him on the mat tauntfidently. Zambrano tries a dirty break but traps his own arm in the rope. He finally hits a snap powerslam but Dan Barry kicks right out. Back elbow for two. Loads of corner stomps and we are booing Zambrano because he’s not fun like Dan is. Thankfully, Dan Barry drops Zambrano onto his back, nails a couple of lariats and a dropkick. Slingshot senton for two. Dan tries a ddt but Zambrano hits a backbreaker. Barry out of the fireman’s and drops Zambrano on his head for the pin. This was a lot of fun. I loved over confident veteran Dan Barry in this.

Haven going hot at the start, keeping Cruz entertained with tag team attacks. Chase with a cheap arm shot on Onyx and the BCB starts the beatdown. Great running back elbow, chest kick combo for two. Cruz with a stiff kick to the chin for another near fall as the Boyz continue to work that arm & shoulder. Knyte tags in, big forearms keep Chase off his feet. Springboard ddt! CPA must be feeling himself after his win last week. He seems so confident. Bobby can’t stop hurting himself. Finally he kicks CPA off the ropes and proceeds the stomp the abominable one out. Hard whips to the buckles. Bobby Backcracker for two. He whips CPA with his own clip on tie. CPA grabs the end and is this a strap match all of a sudden??? Pop up flatliner! Clancy continues to be real solid in the ring.

Winner: Rex Lawless

It’s Sidney Bakabella time! Bakabella apologizes to the crowd for yelling at the crowd last week for cheering them. We don’t know any better, we are mere simple people and we can’t help but cheer our hearts out for World Class when we see it. Reach out, children. Channing Thomas is here for us. 3/3, Sidney. Feed me more of this koolaid. Holy s***.

Match 8: Ichiban vs Bryce Donovan

Ichiban keeping Donovan off kilter early with his high flying antics. Bryce catches Ichiban and blasts him into the ropes and flies into number one to take charge of the situation. Match 10: Kingsglave (Travis Huckabee & Matt Makowski) vs Waves & Curls (Traevon Jordan & Jaelyn Brandyn)

W&C wants to dance. Huckabee & Makowski want a fight. Is it dance off? Nono it’s a fight. Waves and Curls with a double leg drop to Huckabee right off. Travis taken for a ride by Jordan and forced into the ripcord wave dance. Huckabee powders, Makowski tries a cheap kick, Jordan catches it but It’s not enough. Travis with a slingshot senton in for two. Makowski in with a suplex and twisting Jordan into a butterfly choke. Jordan tries to power to his corner but Weapon X elbows him down. Brandyn in! Winner: Kingsglave

Makowski grabs the mic to challenge Alex Shelley for the IWTV title match he SHOULD have had over New Year’s… at Day 91. I mean…what if it’s AC Mack? I can dream. Hush.

Have I mentioned how absolutely insane Price’s energy is lately? Kylon King is none afraid and gets right into the Prize’s face after his entrance. Price grabs the mic and says he hopes Kylon watched him break Dustin Waller last week. Of course, Walker is at the commentary table with Paul Crockett now so he can watch this unfold.

Main Event: “The Prize” Alec Price vs Kylon King

They go right to brawling, Price sent out and King with the dive right to him. Price trying to counter but King blasts a huuuge German for two. Price finally hits an enziguri and a half and half suplex. King eating stomps and knees to the gut. Price giving no quarter and laying into the beating as the crowd chants “GAAAAAHHHHBIDGE” at him. Kylon fighting back as Price can’t help but taunt. High angle sunset flip pin for two. Hook kick to the gut, big kick from Price and a kick out. Price tries to grind out Kingnon the mat. King fighting back again, big lariat. Cross body caught to a gutwrench slam. Price drops King over the buckles, running double knee to the back. Execution knees out of the corner. Shook Crew make their way to ringside. King and the ref are distracted by their mere presence. Alec Price hits the Su-Prize kick for the pin! Dustin couldn’t do anything being stuck on commentary with his broken foot. I loved that right at the part where the crowd was at their highest point of hype, Shook Crew was right there to ruin the fun.

Winner: Alec Price

Bobby has the mic. “How the mighty have fallen!” Bryce reminds Dustin that he’s injured…so Kylon King can’t be saved. They are able to lay in the beatdown when Ichiban flies in and runs them off. Waller hobbles to ringside to hug Ichiban and thank him for the save!

And that’s it for this week of Wrestling Open! Something is clearly happening in Worcester these past few weeks. By week 3, we’ve established Wrestling Open’s regular heroes and villains and the crowd is starting to really respond to both their favorites and this whole crop of new talent coming through each show. As for the crowd itself, the size of the audience continues to grow week over week. Maybe it’s the $10 tickets? Maybe it’s the solidly fun wrestling content being delivered each week? Maybe it’s the Jell-O shots at the world famous White Eagle bar? Let’s be real, it’s the Polish Quesadillas at the concession table (kielbasa, cabbage, beer mustard and cheese? Feed me more). But seriously, this show is finding its legs and the people are responding to it. Unless Covid pulls the rug on us all again, we’re watching something really cool build here.

I’ll leave it with this:

Until then, friends!
