GOFUNDME CAMPAIGN ONGOING TO ASSIST DON WEST IN HIS BATTLE AGAINST BRAIN CANCER

By Mike Johnson on 2022-02-15 08:59:00

Former Impact Wrestling personality and all around great person Don West tweeted the following:

On the GoFundMe page, West wrote, "This is Don and I wanted to share a health update and a couple next steps with you. After undergoing chemo and radiation treatments, my recovery was on track with a clean bill of health after 3 months. Unfortunately, I began having symptoms and the brain tumors have returned. I have now started my second round of chemotherapy with more aggressive and arduous treatments to follow. While this is a setback, Terri and I are staying positive and fighting the good fight! God has blessed us in ways too numerous to list including your past financial generosity and your many notes and messages of support. It has meant the world to us. I will continue to provide updates and again, thank you for investing in our future."

West was an extremely popular part of TNA as an announcer, manager and heading up the company's merchandise side from 2002 through 2012, when he made the decision to exit the company to take a position as the General Manager of the Wenatchee Wild hockey team in Wenatchee, Washington.  West, who has popped up occasionally in pro wrestling at Starrcast events, has been doing radio on KPQ 560 in Washington.  West has taken a hiatus from his broadcasting duties to focus on his health, as he once again battles cancer.  Don first became known nationally as a pitchman for Shop at Home, where he became so popular Will Ferrell once played him in a sketch on NBC's Saturday Night Live.
