The MLW vs. WWE lawsuit was assigned to Magistrate Judge Kandis A. Westmore on 1/12.
An official summons for WWE was issued on 1/12 as well, so technically, WWE has yet to be served with the lawsuit. Once they are, they have 21 days to respond.
There is already a case management meeting set for 4/12 in Oakland, California.
We've had some readers ask how MLW could allege WWE forced VICE TV to drop negotiations with MLW. In the lawsuit, MLW notes that A&E (which ran WWE documentary and reality programming over the last year) owns 40% of VICE, so the implication is that ownership could have led to pressure not to carry MLW programming at the request of WWE. There is also a claim that the network needs to be in WWE's good graces for Dark Side of the Ring, but that series itself does zero to put itself in WWE's good graces obviously as it dives into topics WWE would be very happy no one dives into, such as the Benoit tragedy, the flight from hell, etc.
