The Wrestival: ACTION Wrestling & Southern Underground Pro “KEVINNNN!!!”
Four N’s. Three exclamation points. I am over the moon that ACTION & SUP are running a supershow in my backyard. Full disclosure: I’m actually a sponsor of this card through my band DnA’s Evolution (good lord, some Spotify hits would be lovely, y’all) but I’m saying this more as an indicator of how highly I think of these two promotions after covering them for the last year or so. We have lighting trusses around the ring, giving today’s shows a really unique vibe in the room. Regular ACTION commentators Dylan Hales & Jumpin’ Johnny Mosely are behind the mic today! Rich Palladino is your announcer for this (and officially ALL of the Wrestival)! And we’re LIIIIIIIIVE on IWTV!

Match 1: “Number One” Jaden Newman vs Avery Good, Professional Wrestler
Avery remains THE BEST THE BEST THE BEST THE BEST THE BEST THE BEST!!! Jaden momentarily steals the power of The Best and Good is not thrilled about that and decks Newman! Newman keeps afloat and arm drags into a dropkick for two. Avery dropkicks a turnbuckle headstand and Jaden tumbles to the floor. GREAT spot. Avery with a camel clutch as Jaden struggles back into the ring. Jaden almost sneaks in a hangman’s clutch but Avery is out of there fast and hits a big bulldog. Abdominal stretch, Jaden tries the clutch again and Good has it scouted. Back to the abdominal stretch and Jaden is hurting. Good tries a Gory special, Jaden rolls through. Reversals abound and good hits that gory into the buckles. Jaden on dream street and eating a series of short arm back elbows. Jaden blocks! Enziguri! German! Jaden with a backflip dive out to the floor and a crossbody back in! Jaden gets the cravat and throwing knees! Good catches him with a slingshot backdrop. Kick out! Match 2: Bobby Flaco vs “Iron” Rip Byson
Bob’s here! Unfortunately, Byson doesn’t care and views Bobby as meat to be tenderized. Bobby slips out to party with the crowd and Byson gives chase. Lucha arm drags and a flying crossbody keep Rip off his feet. Byson powers out of a ddt attempt and just dumps Flaco to the floor. Powerslam to the wood. Elbow drop to the floor and Flaco might be squished….but not squished enough…kick out! Byson with a corner splash but Flaco fighting back. He tries the ddt again but Byson hits a stampede for two. Flaco dares Byson to touch him one more time. One slap and Flaco is up and swinging hard…and Byson replies with a flurry of hard chops! Flaco with a dropkick and more forearms. Xfactor out of the corner. Byson picks him up, reverse into a stunner! Two count! The crowd getting behind Bobby HEY HEY HEY! Byson to the outside, Bobby hits a slingshot trust fall dive. Byson with a massive chokeslam back in the ring spikes Flaco to the mat and hits a burning hammer to close this out. This crowd doesn’t know Bobby just they got right into him. Good stuff.
Winner: Rip Byson

Match 3: Pete Youngblood vs Austin Luke
A matchup of products of the TWE and H2O schools respectively. Youngblood dodges the lockup to take his earrings out. Luke waits patiently and then takes the wrist and Pete looks like he wants to cry in that hold. Luke keeps him grounded and recovering in the corner. Youngblood catches him on the top with a chop, tosses him down and tries to stomp him out. Austin with a knee to the gut and a really stiff spine kick. Luke punks him in the corner, Youngblood goes through a fast sequence of pin attempts and reversals. Big vertical suplex from Youngblood. “Fundamentals, baby!” Luke catches him running and Luke stomps him out in the corner. Austin whiffs a corner dropkick but connects with the apron spear. Youngblood seems to get the better recovery, comes off the top but Luke snags a crossface. Youngblood escapes, hits a lungblower for two. Trading charging shots into the corner, Youngblood brought up top but hits a throat chop. Austin recovers and hits a hangman’s cutter to finish the match! Solid performance from these two.
Winner: Austin Luke
Match 4: “The Star of the Show” Ashton Starr vs “Not America’s Sweetheart” Davienne
It’s Starr’s birthday! Davienne catches a headlock and Ashton slips out to Davi’s surprise. She give him that one with a smile since it’s his birthday. She grabs the headlock again and deposits Ashton gently to the floor. Starr catches her running but Davi hits a head scissor for two. Tossed corner to corner! Big corner kick with an “I’m sorry” for two. This face-ish side of Davienne is so surreal. Starr pushes off a German and boots her for two. Starr wrenching at the neck, Davi escapes but runs right into a lariat for two! “Come on, Davi” as Ashton kicks the leg out from under Davienne. She fights her way out of the corner but Starr boots her right back into it! Starr with a sharpshooter! Davienne makes the rope! Forearms to the chest stagger Ashton. Huge lariats and a corner splash! Starr getting chopped up! Ashton tries something but eats a ripcord lariat. Air raid crash! Ashton kicks out! Starr with a northern lights! Kick out! Certified banger. I love Ashton Starr but I can’t think of a better Davienne match I’ve seen her in, especially as a clear face. Loved this.
Winner: Ashton Starr

Match 5: “The Prize” Alec Price vs “The Loaded Arm” Adam Priest
I have been waiting for THIS match. Our human trash fire vs the Southeast’s. Alec is f***ing around and maybe about to find out. “He’s too short and too generic!”…Priest is smiling but I know what’s coming. Price uses his quickness to frustrate Priest. Priest with a pull of the hair annoys Orice right back. Price keeps running his mouth and Proest clocks him with a dropkick. These two going back and forth with shots, Priest sent back to the outside with a dropkick to the back. Price keeps going, baiting Priest in for a flying ddt. Price sets up the finish but Priest was waiting! Dropkick, Ram to the buckles and brain buster for two! Hard thudding uppercuts, chops and stomps from a Priest in full control. Price flips out of a suplex and hits a double stomp for two. High angle back drop from Priest with a knee drop chaser. Big loud chops and a hard whip to the corner. Price is fighting back and the crowd is getting behind him. He may be a scumbag…but I guess he’s OUR scumbag. Priest with a rear choke and Price is squeaking as he fights it. Price with a flying knee! Priest out of the corner, ducks a knee and blasts Price with a double arm. Priest walking him down with the stomps and slapping Price back to life. Price getting the better of the slugfest! Dropkick from the heavens! Price with a dive to the outside followed by a ddt off the apron. Ugly landing and Price throws him back in for a tilt a whirl facebuster for two. Alec off the top! Two count! Price comes in for the finish again, release powerbomb! Priest loads up the arm! Snap DDT! Kickout! Priest getting into ref Gina’s face, prompting more heat. She pushes him off. Price escapes a suplex with an eye take, rebounds with the flying kick to the back of the head and Priest is down for the count. As a match, this was great. I loved this action bell-to-bell. I wish Priest had been able to better counter Price’s non-stop motor mouth, who was able to set the tone and introduce/run down Priest to the Beyond crown and not get much in the way of immediate repercussion for the slight. Much like Davienne working as a face, it was weird to see the crowd get behind Price because he’s OUR garbage animal.
Winner: Alec Price

Match 6: Anthony Henry vs Masha Slamovich
This should have been an IWTV title shot for Henry but times are what they are. He has a HELL of a replacement opponent in Masha though. Henry with a gutwrench toss early and Masha looks a little frustrated. Henry takes her right down with a wrist lock and works towards a heel hook….Masha steals the ankle and twists Henry into pain. Henry grabs the shoulder but Masha twists out. Kip up with a slap and Masha unloads with forearms, slaps and a back fist that sends Henry to the apron. Chest kicks in the ropes! Henry with a slam to the apron! Neck twister on the apron to Masha! Thudding back kick. Masha trying to kick her way free but Henry slaps her and bridges her back into agony. Henry with a cocky arm twist and falls back into the armlock. Henry is stalking his prey and asking Masha to show him what she got. Stuff chops crumble Masha. Henry caught into the ropes for a kick but he’s back with a package driver for two! Henry landing kicks over and over and antagonizing the crowd with middle fingers as we boo the cruelty. Masha rebounds with a huge lariat! Masha with a knee and Yamuna kick! Flying heel kick! Hooking driver and a shining wizard for two! Masha tries a powerbomb hit can’t lift him, He ru hits a brutal German and a ddt for two. Transition into a crossface…Masha won’t tap! Brain buster from Henry! Kick out! “stay down!” Yells Henry as he kicks at her head. She flips him off but eating more chest kicks. Masha fires up off them and fights back! Trading boots! Trading head kicks! Both are rocked! AC Mack heads to the ring with a steel chair and takes them both out! This was perfect. Anthony Henry was facing the same problem Priest did in the previous match, except he took charge and gave Worcester something to hate him for. Neither could really lose here so having AC play spoiler just as the match was clearly entering its final stanzas worked. Worcester suddenly remembers AC…and that we hate him. Could Masha have beaten Henry? Maybe? I suppose ACTION may just have to run this back…what a shaaaaaame ;)
Winner: No contest
@AC_Mack just took out both Masha & Henry! What is going on?!#WRESTIVAL @WrestleACTION1 @sup_graps

AC Mack grabs the mic. He calls out IWTV for the conspiracy of Alex Shelley being not around suddenly after he was named number one contender! He gets so incensed with the crowd that he misses Henry and Masha recovering to beat the heck out of him. Masha powerbombs Mack and they leave him laying as the following match is announced as no DQ. Mack isn’t even on his feet as SLADE comes stalking in for their match. Mack is terrified and begging off before SLADE is even in the ring.
Match 7: The Mack of All Trades” AC Mack vs SLADE
Mack tries to beg out of the match and converse with the man from Rikers Island but SLADE pummels him. Mack powders and SLADE beats him up in the chairs. Mack bounced off the apron and he cries “I didn’t ask for this!” Mack swings a chair and SLADE PUNCHES IT OUT OF THE WAY! Mack gets pummels against the apron as SLADE grabs a chair and blasts him in the back. Chair wedged into the corner…..Mack is able to reverse SLADE and ram him into it Mack with. Running kick and tries to choke out SLADE on the ropes. SLADE catches a flying double knee and throws Mack back for a lariat! Mack wants to “talk” and backhands SLADE. Mistakes are made and SLADE runs wild on Mack, hitting a huge chokeslam for two. Mack with a flying kick to the face! He’s got this? Sure he does. SLADE Powers out of the Mack 10! Powerslam! SLADE needs another chair. And another. SLADE sets up chairs and goes to chokeslam Mack! AC Mack with a rollup and he gets the three!!! A victorious AC kicks the chairs away and runs for the hills…with his W. SLADE grabs a chair and heads out after him. Awesome stuff. Mack needed this win over the Northeast’s resident Michael Myers…even if he didn’t QUITE put the madman down. The crowd loves them some SLADE violence and especially when it’s directed as someone who made us sad.
Winner: AC Mack
Main Event: Violence is Forever (Kevin Ku & Dominic Garrini) vs Hot Wheelz (Tracy Williams & Wheeler Yuta)

The ACTION and SUP tag team champs have made no friends in Worcester in the last day or so. They shake hands before the combat starts…Ku and Yuta go right I to the scramble, trading position, Ku trying to get at the arm. Yuta almost turns it into a cloverleaf, Sauce tags in and tries to take out the ankle of Ku. Sauce switches to the shoulder but Ku snags the ankle. Big Dom wants a piece and invites Williams into his guard. Garrini gets a near fall and Yuta decides it’s time to play again. Yuta gets Dom wrapped up and flexes on him…Garrini gets an STF and shows those muscles too. Sauce tries for a rear naked choke, Garrini slips out to a front choke but gets snap suplexed out. Yuta in with a flying stomp and stretches Garrini’s abs. Yuta gets tossed and Ku in to wrap up the legs and make his own muscle pose. Yuta with a Boston crab and Sauce tags in with a baseball slide into the hold. Dom in to toss a sauce and grab a wing. Tracy out to stomp the ankles. Sauce tries a crossface, a rollup into a crab but Ku breaks that up. Tracy with a front choke but Ku works to the arm. Yuta in, clubs Dom and goes wild in on both ViF members. Fallaway slam to Ku. Dom with a blind tag and guts Yuta with a knee! Yuta eating thudding kicks from Dom and chops. Ku with a stretch and double stomp to the back of Yuta. Wheeler back with a reversal into a German! Dom cuts off Sauce and allows some shady offense to get a two on Yuta. Ku hitting a bunch of gut punches, Yuta flies back to drop his attack and make the slow crawl. Dom Intercepts Sauce again! Scuffle on the outside and Sauce gets the tag! Discus lariat to Ku. Saito suplex to Dom! Plex off the second to Ku for two! Dom saves Ku from the top buckle ddt and VIF feeds Sauce a pile of uppercuts and a dropkick German combo. They go for Chasing the Dragon but Ku gets pulled out. Sauce with suplex! Yuta with a frogsplash! Ku breaks it up! Ku snags a single leg crab on Yuta…and loses it to an STF! Sauce grabs Dom in an octopus stretch…Dom AA’s Sauce into Yuta to break both holds! Ku and Williams trading forearms and chops! Sauce tries the gotch piledriver but Dom hits a flying knee! Yuta in and loses the strike battle with Dom! Chasing the Dragon! Yuta’s out of the ring. Double roaring elbow to Sauce! A Total Elimnation variant! Ku gets the pin on Tracy Willliams. Banger of a match! Good technical graps mixed with all these guys penchant for high impact aggressive violence towards the second half. This lived up to the promise and I’d certainly watch this one run back again (and again).
Winners: Violence is Forever
“Both these teams” chants the crowd! Ku admits Hot Wheelz are some of their best friends in wrestling and they would love to do this again down the road. Good feeling ending to our show!
And that’s it for “KEVINNNN!!!”. It was the afternoon before New Year’s and people were definitely filtering in throughout the entire show (likely as they escaped their jobs to come to wrestle land). A lot of the non-local taken had to fight the uphill battle of teaching the crowd to love or hate them. The crowd was definitely going along as each match progressed and for the most part, this was a success. From an action standpoint, I saw some of my favorite matches of the weekend (as everyone brought their best to this platform) and one standout bout from someone I’ve seen a LOT of their work over several years. With Wrestling Open coming up, I would love to see some of these talents find their way up here, work some of the indies in the region and get some more exposure to this crowd on Thursdays when we’re on IWTV live. This was a fantastic show overall and I hope the VOD does well for these promotions.
Heavy Lies the Crown kicks off at 8pm so I have some time to shove food in my face hole before we ring in the new year with more violence. Until then!
