The International Professional Wrestling Hall of Fame issued the following, which includes the first public acknowledgement that they are seeking to assist in maintaining the artifacts that are in possession of the currently shuttered Professional Wrestling Hall of Fame in Wichita Falls, Texas:
The IPWHF will be building upon the successes (and challenges) of 2021 - and will make 2022 a special year for our organization. Our esteemed ballot committee has come to consensus and in a few days their work will be sent to the selection committee to determine the Class of 2022. VP Michael Lanuto has spearheaded our communications with Albany County and the MVP Arena (formerly Times Union Center) and we have ironed out the wrinkles to take the next steps.
In the coming weeks we will roll-out volunteer opportunities to help bring to fruition a first-class museum dedicated to the history of pro wrestling from around the world.
On a final note, we have been in communication with individuals in Texas who have assured us that all artifacts of the PWHF are safeguarded. We will work in collaboration with the PWHF to assist in any capacity as they overcome some obstacles.
Although the IPWHF had some seminal moments in 2021… the motto of New York (and our Andy Kaufman Award) is “Excelsior!” We will go even higher in 2022!!!
Happy New Year!

As previously covered by PWInsider.com, the Wichita Falls-based PWHF shut down due to COVID-19 and never returned, leading to concerns about the status of the collection it housed, which could not be replaced if lost.
Grey Pierson, who is on the PWHF Board of Directors, told PWInsider.com several weeks ago that the current hope is to bring the Museum and collection to the Dallas area.
