MARKUS CRANE PASSES AWAY

By Mike Johnson on 2021-12-27 11:00:00

PWInsider.com is sad to report the passing of Mark "Markus Crane" Pobanz, who worked for a number of independent promotions including GCW, AAW, H20 and other companies  There is no official word on his passing but the story being passed around among his friends is that he passed away overnight.  Pobanz was only 32 years old.

Crane was trained by Chris Hero and was was a regular in the Death Match scene, working for a number of promotions.  He had appeared in the past for Game Changer Wrestling and worked Japanese tours for the promotion in the past.

For fans who loved the over the top insanity of the death match style, there was a period of time where Crane was one of the most fearless and creative when it came to that genre of professional wrestling and was probably underrated as a talent inside the ring due to his penchant for performing in the Death Match style.

Crane had taken time off in 2019 when doctors discovered an infection in his skull from a pre-existing injury and needed to perform surgery to prevent erosion of his skull from the infection, which had also began leaking into his brain.  A Gofundme for Crane at the time raised over $23,000 to assist him.  He returned for one bout earlier this year, defeating Kit Osbourne in April 2021 at a GCW event in Florida.

PWInsider.com sends our deepest condolences to the family, friends and fans of Mark "Markus Crane" Pobanz.
