It is Christmas and why not end your holiday with AEW Rampage, the second night of Holiday Bash taped this past Wednesday night at the Greensboro Coliseum in Greensboro, North Carolina.
The commentary table has Excalibur, Taz and Ricky Starks, and has become the Jericho-less commentary team.
Jungle Boy vs Isiah Kassidy
JB has his leg and ribs taped from overtraining.
They lock up and run the ropes, but Marq Quen grabs JB's foot and allows Kassidy to roll him up for a two count. JB crawls to the corner and Kassidy attacks him there. JB is able to attack Kassidy and does a leaping arm drag off the ropes. They then fight in the corner ending with JB knocked to the floor and Kassidy hitting a tornado cross body over the top rope to the floor. JB is tossed in and after Kassidy gets a two count, they trade chops in the middle of the ring.
Kassidy is able to work over JB on the ropes and when the ref pulls Kassidy off, Matt Hardy gives JB a chop to the head. JB recovers, and runs the ropes, but after a sunset flip, Kassidy hits a drop kick for a two count before picture in picture.
When they return to full screen, Kassidy has JB down with a waist lock to work where JB is wrapped. JB is able to get up and when Kassidy runs in to attack, JB hits a back elbow and nails a series of blows. JB hits a fisherman's front suplex and hooks a leg for a two count. Kassidy gets his turn with an attack ending with a poisonrana. After a pause, Kassidy covers for a two count.
JB is up and near the corner and when Kassidy runs at him, he is able to suplex Kassidy into the turnbuckle, and then hits another suplex, holds on for a two count. JB is bale to keep holding onto Kassidy and dumps him over the top. JB hits a tope and rolls Kassidy back to the ring, and Quen grabs JB's boot. Christian Cage attacks Quen and we've got The Hardy Office fighting Jurassic Express on the outside as JB locks on the Snare Trap, causing Kassidy to tap out.
Your winner: Jungle Boy
Fast paced match, and they didn't use the “Jungle Boy is injured” as it was just a standard match for these two at this point. Kassidy didn't do a lot of his high flying stuff, but neither he nor JB sold anything for long, just quickly moving from move to move. Nothing in the feud between these two groups changed either.
Ricky Starks at commentary issues a warning to Dante Martin for his turning on Team Taz. Taz is still trying to figure out what happened with their contract.
Miro is still in the blank void and says he will return with no flaws and now he's upset with his God.
Hook vs Bear Bronson
Powerhouse Hobbs has joined commentary without a headset. Bear Bronson is already in the ring. The crowd is chanting Hook as they lock up.
They trade arm bars until Hook locks in a leg hold and Bear goes to the ropes or a break. Hook beats down Bear in the corner, and Bear is able to reverse it and get in some blows. Hook is able to break free and locks in a sugar hook on Bear who gets to the ropes. Bear attacks Hook after the break and spikes him to the mat. As Bear is jawing with the crowd, Hook pops up and hits a clothesline, a Northern Lights suplex and a high collar suplex. Hook hits a series of cross face strikes and locks in the Redrum. Bear taps out.

Tony Nese is looking on as Hook walks to the back. I get they are trying to build Hook, but Bronson is about twice his size bouncing around like Fuego Del Sol did last week.,
We get a video package building the match between Eddie Kingston and 2.0.
Kris Statlander vs Leyla Hirsch
They hook up collar and elbow. The announcers put over they are friends and have teamed together, but this match is important for the top five rankings. They do a series of shoulder blocks and Leyla is able to force Statlander to the corner on the second series, and works her over there. Leyla gets a two count and then holds on for a waist lock until Statlander gets to the ropes, leaving Leyla on the apron. Leyla is able to hit a shoulder into Statlander's midsection, but when she tries to run the ropes, Statlander is able to get a power slam and a two count.
Statlander hits a delayed vertical suplex and holds Leyla up for a long time before the drop and two count. Leyla is able to escape, picks the leg to bring Statlander down and hit a shotgun dropkick. They run the ropes and Leyla his able to pick the leg again, and locks on an arm bar. Statlander is able to get up,m holding Leyla and slams her into the turnbuckle, but Leyla doesn't let go. Leyla holds on and keeps the arm bar as she is draped over the top rope, breaking before the ref counts five.
Layla hits a moonsault for the turnbuckle for a two, then a knee strike for another two count. They trade blows and Statlander hits a blue thunder bomb for a two count. Leyla hits a German suplex for a two count. Statlander recovers, hits a back elbow, a boot to the face, a body slam, and then hooks in a spider crab, causing Leyla to tap out.
Your winner: Kris Statlander
Solid hard fought match, and after the match, Leyla refuses to shake hands.
In the back, it's time for the main event interview between Cody Rhodes and Sammy Guevara. Arn Anderson takes over the interview and says Cody is pissed going into the match. Sammy says that this is a bigger match for him because he will be carrying this company in the years to come.
Mark Henry lets us know there's been enough talk, and it's time for the main event.
Sammy Guevara (TNT Champion) vs Cody Rhodes
Cody comes out with Arn Anderson, Brock Anderson, and Lee Johnson. Cody is booed loudly, and while he gets pyro, Sammy Guevara comes out alone with no pyro.
David Crockett is introduced at ringside.
Sammy hits a shotgun dropkick and goes for the GTH right away. Cody escapes and they run the ropes. Sammy is able to take out Cody, who bails and starts to walks up through the crowd. Sammy hits a spin and poses on the mat waiting for Cody. Cody returns to the ring and the crowd reminds him that he sucks. Cody hits a headlock takeover. Sammy rolls him over for a two count. They run to the corners, the second corner, Cody flips over the top to run the apron, but Sammy pulls him in. When Cody runs at him, Sammy hits a spinning power slam. Cody recovers and hits a cutter off the ropes.
Sammy tosses Cody out of the ring and they brawl on the floor. Cody tosses Sammy to the ring. Cody this a hip toss and locks in a arm hold with his legs. We go to picture in picture as Sammy is trying to fight his way free.
When they return to full screen, Cody hits Sammy with a delayed vertical suplex. Cody then goes to the top for a moonsault, but takes too much time and Sammy rolls out of the way. Sammy hits a series of clotheslines. He then hits Cody with a double leap cutter for a two count. Sammy then hits a cross roads and Cody rolls out of the ring.
Sammy hits a double leap 450 splash on Cody on the outside. He then goes for a Hurrancanrana, but Cody catches him and tosses him into the crowd. Cody pulls him out of the crowd and tosses him into the ring. He hits Sammy with a disaster kick. Arn Anderson says to Finish Him. Cody goes for the cross roads, but Sammy drops down to escape. Sammy comes off the ropes and back into the cross roads. This time Cody hits it and gets a two count.
Cody pulls Sammy up and Sammy is out of his feet. Cody drapes him on the ropes and then puts him on the top. Cody goes for the reverse avalanche suplex, but Sammy lands on his feet and grabs Cody for the GTH and after a struggle, Sammy hits it for a two count.
Sammy motions for the end of the match and climbs to the top. He hits a 630, but Cody gets his knees up. Cody hits two cross roads and a tiger driver 98 for the pin and the three count.
Your winner and New TNT Champion: Cody Rhodes
The crowd is NOT happy about this. The entire Nightmare Family is in the ring as David Crockett enters the ring and hands him the title belt.
