Nina Samuels welcomes everyone to this week’s Nina Samuels Show, featuring a look back at the best of 2021.
Match Number One: Jordan Devlin versus A-Kid in an IronMan Match (from the August 4, 2021 episode)
They circle each other before going for the Greco Roman Knuckle Lock. A-Kid goes for the leg and Devlin rolls through and A-Kid with a cartwheel. They lock up and Devlin with a waist lock take down. A-Kid with a front face lock and Devlin with a wrist lock. A-Kid with a reversal and Devlin escapes. A-Kid with a wrist lock that takes Devlin to the mat. Devlin gets back to his feet and Devlin with a reversal on the wrist lock. A-Kid tries to reverse but Devlin holds on to the wrist lock and he takes A-Kid to the mat.
A-Kid with an escape and drop kick that sends Devlin to the floor. Devlin returns to the ring. They lock up and A-Kid with a side head lock and take down. Devlin goes for a head scissors but A-Kid blocks it for a moment. Devlin with a head scissors but A-Kid escapes quickly. Devlin kicks at the injured knee. A-Kid with a wrist lock and he takes Devlin to the mat. Devlin goes for the leg but A-Kid is able to escape any work on the leg. Devlin gets to the ropes to force a break.
They go to a Greco Roman Knuckle Lock and A-Kid bridges while Devlin gets the advantage. Devlin gets a near fall. A-Kid gets to his feet but Devlin holds on to A-Kid with a Stretch Plum and he gets A-Kid’s shoulders to the mat for a series of near falls. A-Kid pulls himself up and gets a near fall with a rollup. A-Kid goes for an arm bar submission and Devlin gets to the ropes and then goes to the floor to regroup. A-Kid with a kick to the knee but Devlin with a wrist lock into a head lock and a knee to the midsection. Devlin with a forearm that sends A-Kid to the mat. Devlin with a front face lock. A-Kid goes for the leg and escapes and applies a front face lock.
Devlin with a hammer lock and he pulls back at the arm as he falls back to the mat. Devlin holds on to the hammer lock and he gets a near fall. Devlin with a forearm to the back. A-Kid with a leg pick and a side head lock. Devlin with a head scissors and A-Kid with an escape and A-Kid works on the legs. A-Kid with a bow and arrow but Devlin with a lateral press for a near fall. Devlin with a side head lock. A-Kid with a drop kick for a near fall. A-Kid with a front face lock. A-Kid gets a near fall and holds on to the front face lock. A-Kid turns the front face lock into a guillotine but Devlin backs A-Kid into the ropes. Devlin with a slap on the break and a wrist lock. A-Kid with a side head lock and take down for a near fall. A-Kid goes for a springboard move but Devlin with a forearm to the back.
A-Kid is caught in the ropes and Devlin with a boot to the knee. Devlin with an elbow drops to the leg and a Cloverleaf and A-Kid taps out.

Devlin backs A-Kid into the corner but A-Kid escapes. Devlin with kicks to the knee and Devlin drives the knee into the mat but A-Kid with forearms and chops. Devlin with a slam and he gets a near fall. A-Kid falls into the ropes. Devlin clips the leg and then kicks the back of the leg and A-Kid flips to the mat. Devlin drives the knee into the mat. Devlin goes for the leg but A-Kid flips to the turnbuckles and applies a rear naked choke but Devlin gets to the ropes to force a break.
Devlin pulls A-Kid’s leg over the apron and slams it into the apron. Devlin wrings the leg into the ring post and then he goes for the figure four leg lock around the ring post. Devlin releases the hold before the five count. A-Kid tries to kick Devlin but misses. Devlin with an atomic drop to the knee. Devlin tries for a single leg crab but A-Kid fights it off. Devlin with a Boston Crab and A-Kid gets to the ropes.
Devlin with a forearm and A-Kid chops back. Devlin with a kick to the chest. A-Kid and Devlin exchange forearms and A-Kid with a German suplex. Devlin with a standing switch and he hits a German suplex. A-Kid with a standing switch and another German suplex. A-Kid with another German suplex as we hit the midway point of the match.
Devlin holds on to the ropes on an O’Connor Roll and then Devlin suplexes A-Kid over the top rope and both men go over the top rope to the floor.
A-Kid rolls back into the ring and Devlin beats the ten count but A-Kid with an omoplata but Devlin is able to get his foot on the rope to force a break. A-Kid runs into a boot and A-Kid blocks the slingshot cutter and A-Kid with a sleeper. A-Kid releases the hold and he kicks Devlin and gets a near fall. Devlin with a forearm and A-Kid goes down. Devlin with punches and A-Kid with a springboard forearm for a near fall. A-Kid with a Fujiwara Arm Bar into a hammer lock and then he turns it into a cross arm breaker and Devlin taps out.

Devlin holds his arm while we wait for the match to continue. Devlin goes to the floor and A-Kid follows. Devlin gets back into the ring and A-Kid follows so Devlin goes back to the floor. A-Kid continues to follow Devlin as they go in and out of the ring. Devlin gets back into the ring and they lock up. A-Kid blocks a kick and he sends Devlin over the top rope to the floor. A-Kid with a forearm to knock Devlin off the apron. A-Kid with a back body drop to send Devlin over the top rope to the floor. A-Kid with a round kick to knock Devlin off the apron.
A-Kid with chops and forearms followed by an Irish whip and Devlin goes over the top rope to the floor. Devlin grabs a chair but A-Kid with a super kick and both men are down. Devlin is sent back into the ring and A-Kid goes up top and hits a cross body for a near fall. A-Kid waits for Devlin to get up and he hits a jumping side kick but Devlin blocks it and tries for the Cloverleaf and A-Kid blocks it. Devlin goes for a power bomb and A-Kid counters with a rana for a near fall. A-Kid with a flying kick for a near fall. Devlin has his foot on the rope and A-Kid has to release the hold. A-Kid kicks Devlin in the head. A-Kid kicks Devlin through the ropes to the floor. Devlin with a forearm and A-Kid fires back.
Devlin with punches but he misses and A-Kid with a punch but Devlin bounces off the ropes and hits a desperation head butt for a near fall. Devlin and A-Kid exchange forearms and they get back to their feet. A-Kid kicks Devlin to the apron and A-Kid falls to the apron as well. Devlin with a punch and he puts his leg inside the ring. Devlin tries for Devlin Side but A-Kid with a kick and both men fall to the apron and Devlin falls to the floor. Devlin pulls the ring skirt and A-Kid falls. Devlin with Devil Inside on the floor.
The referee starts his count and Devlin gets back in the ring at seven and then A-Kid beats the count. Devlin with a kick to the chest. A-Kid with a Destroyer to counter Devil Inside. A-Kid with a jumping side kick and A-Kid gets a near fall. A-Kid goes for a cross arm breaker but Devlin blocks the full application of the hold. A-Kid gets the cross arm breaker applied for a moment but Devlin block it. A-Kid with the omoplata and Devlin eventually taps out.

Devlin with a double leg take down and a jackknife cover for a near fall. A-Kid and Devlin exchange foerarms. Devlin with a forearm and then he gets a near fall. Devlin with a rollup for a near fall. A-Kid goes for the omoplata but Devlin escapes. A-Kid with a forearm and Devlin with a forearm. A-Kid kicks Devlin and Devlin with a forearm.
Devlin gets a near fall. Devlin slaps A-Kid and then slaps him again and he gets a two count as time runs out.
Winner: A-Kid (2 falls to 1)
Nina mentions that A-Kid is the Iron Man of NXT UK. Maybe there needs to be an Iron Woman in 2022.

Match Number Two: Kay Lee Ray versus Meiko Satomura for the NXT UK Women’s Championship (from the June 10, 2021 episode)
Ray asks Meiko if this is what she wanted. Satomura avoids Ray and connects with kicks to the leg but Ray blocks one. Satomura with more kicks and forearms in the corner. Ray pushes Satomura away and misses a boot out of the corner. Satomura with forearms and kicks. Satomura backs Ray into the corner and gives a clean break. Ray tries for the Gory Bomb and Satomura escapes. Satomura gets Ray on her shoulders and Ray escapes and Ray goes to the floor.
Satomura follows and kicks Ray around the ringside area. Satomura sends Ray back into the ring and Ray with a thrust kick to knock Satomura off the apron. Ray with a forearm to the chest and they return to the ring. Ray with a near fall. Ray with a reverse chin lock. Ray with a side head lock. Satomura with a kick to the upper chest and she follows with another one. Satomura with a back heel kick. Satomura with a wrist lock and kicks to the chest. Satomura with a leg sweep and hesitation knee drop but Ray pulls the hair on the cover and connects with a forearm.
Ray with chops to Satomura. Ray tries to get Satomura up but Satomura blocks it. Ray with forearms and then she snap mares Satomura and Ray kicks Satomura. Ray with a clothesline and forearm to the back. Ray with a gourdbuster for a near fall. Ray with a Koji Clutch but Satomura escapes and goes for an STF but Ray prevents the cross face for a moment but Satomura locks it in. Ray gets to the ropes to force a break.
Ray pulls Satomura to the mat and spins her around for a forearm from the floor. Ray with a knee drop as she returns to the ring and gets a near fall. Ray with a seated abdominal stretch. Ray stands on Satomura’s face and tries to figure out her next step. Ray with an Irish whip and Satomura comes off the turnbuckles and is met with a punch. Ray gets a near fall.
Ray with forearms and she tries to get Satomura up for the Gory Bomb but Satomura blocks it. Ray with a forearm but Satomura gets Ray up. Ray with a crucifix into a rollup for a near fall. Satomura with a DDT. Satomura with a cartwheel knee drop and it catches Ray enough to get a near fall. Ray with a Death Valley Bomb on Satomura and both women are down. Satomura gets Ray up for a Gory Bomb and she hits it but she cannot capitalize.
Satomura with a round kick to the head and Ray with a super kick to the jaw and Satomura smiles. Satomura with a forearm and Ray fires back. They continue the exchange. Ray with the advantage on the forearms and Satomura with a European uppercut and a cartwheel knee drop to the back of the neck for a near fall.
Ray with a tornado DDT and she gets a near fall. Ray with a super kick and Satomura goes down momentarily but Satomura gets back up until Ray sends her back to the mat with another super kick. Ray with a third super kick. Satomura with a Saito suplex followed by a Death Valley Bomb for a near fall. Ray makes sure that the referee did not make the three count.
Satomura runs into a super kick from Ray. Ray gets Satomura up and hits a Gory Bomb. Ray goes to the turnbuckles and hits a Swanton for a near fall. Ray shows some frustration and she goes to the apron. Ray takes her title belt and she starts to leave but the referee tries to get her to return to the ring.
Satomura stans by the aisle and Ray tries to hit Satomura with the belt but misses. Satomura with a Death Valley Bomb on the floor. Satomura sends Ray back into the ring. Satomura returns to the ring and Ray rolls back to the floor. Ray pulls Satomura to the floor. Ray goes for a Gory Bomb and sends Satomura into the apron. Ray sends Satomura back into the ring and she gets a near fall.
Ray sets for a power bomb but Satomura counters with a back body drop. Satomura goes to the apron but returns to the ring and kicks Ray. Satomura goes up top but Ray stops her. Ray sets for a superplex but Satomura blocks it and connects with forearms and hits a sunset flip power bomb for a near fall. Satomura with a kick to the chest and she applies a sleeper but Ray with a snap mare to escape. Satomura returns to the sleeper. Ray reaches for the ropes and falls into the ropes to force a break. Satomura with a Pele Kick and she gets a near fall. Ray with a Koji Clutch. Satomura with a rollup for a near fall while Ray had the Koji Clutch applied. Satomura with a spinning heel kick and she gets Ray up on her shoulders for a Death Valley Bomb. Satomura with Scorpio Rising for the three count.
Winner: Meiko Satomura (new champion)
