12/22/21 Results from New Japan’s Road to Tokyo Dome from Korakuen Hall, Tokyo Japan:
Kosei Fujita, Ryohei Oiwa and Yuto Nakashima vs. Jado, Chase Owens and Bad Luck Fale
Owens pins Oiwa after a Package Piledriver.
The young lions are getting an education from Jado’s kendo stick.
Satoshi Kojima, Hiroyoshi Tenzan and Toru Yano vs. DOUKI, Minoru Suzuki and Yoshinobu Kanemaru
Kojima was about to finish Kanemaru with a lariat, but Kanemaru spit Suntori whiskey in his eyes. Yano tried to make the save but Kanemaru hit a low blow. Kanemaru poured whiskey in the eyes of Kojima.
Kanemaru pinned Kojima.
The whiskey will be a factor in Kanemaru’s match against Yano on 12/24.
YOH, Tomoaki Honma, Togi Makabe and Tomohiro Ishii vs. SHO, Dick Togo, Yujiro Takahashi and EVIL
Wild match. With the entire House of Torture in a match, it is total chaos. SHO hit Honma in the face with his wrench. Yujiro followed with Big Juice.
Yujiro pins Honma.
SHO attacks YOH after the match and House of Torture stomps on him. Ishii grabs a chair and makes the save. Togo distracts Ishii and EVIL hits him with the NEVER Openweight Title.
SHO vs. YOH at Wrestle Kingdom will be a good match. Both men have been tearing into each other during these tag matches. They will be the opening match on Night One, but they could have the match of the night.
Ishii and EVIL will fight for the NEVER Openweight Title on Night One. Ishii will be angry after this evening after getting hit in the head. Their match will be a brutal fight.
Master Wato, YOSHI-HASHI and Hirooki Goto vs. TAKA Michinoku, Zack Sabre Jr. and Taichi
Goto pins TAKA after they hit Shoto.
BUSHI, SANADA and Tetsuya Naito vs. Aaron Henare, Great O-Khan and Jeff Cobb
Henare hits a Streets of Rage on BUSHI.
Henare pins BUSHI.
Hiromu Takahashi and Shingo Takagi vs. Ryusuke Taguchi and Kazuchika Okada
Takagi pinned Taguchi with Last of the Dragon.
Takagi looked impressive in this tag match and Okada was on the losing end.
Tiger Mask, Robbie Eagles and Hiroshi Tanahashi vs. El Phantasmo, Taiji Ishimori and KENTA
Before the match started, the camera caught a shot of the long scar on KENTA’s back. Tanahashi caused the injury after he hit a High Fly Flow putting KENTA through a table.
Good main event. KENTA brought a chair in the ring and hit Eagles in the gut. Tanahashi made the save and dropped KENTA with a Slingblade. ELP hits Tanahashi in the face with Sudden Death. Eagles springboards off the top rope at ELP and takes Sudden Death in the head. Tiger Mask ducks a third Sudden Death, but Ishimori lifts him into a Lung Blower. Ishimori throws Tiger Mask to KENTA who hits a Go To Sleep.
KENTA pins Tiger Mask.
After the match, Ishimori picks up Tiger Mask and ELP nails a Sudden Death. KENTA continues to beat on Tanahashi outside the ring. Bullet Club beats down all the baby faces. KENTA throws a bunch of chairs in the ring. They triple power bombed Tanahashi on the pile of chairs.
Good preview of the IWGP U.S. Heavyweight Title match between Tanahashi and KENTA. That should be a fun No DQ match.
Also, a good preview of the IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Tag Team Titles. Eagles and Tiger Mask will have to defend against Bullet Club and Ryusuke Taguchi and Rocky Romero. Bullet Club looks ready for Wrestle Kingdom.
