Cole and O'ReilLy seem uneasy.  Trent and Chuck Taylor run in but 3/4 of the former UE take them out.  Out come the Young Bucks.  They want to know what's going on.  Cole seems torn between his 2 worlds.

Lots, and I means lots, of moving pieces here.

We get some highlights form last week's amazing World Title match.

Jan 5th, we have a REMATCH!

Tony Schiavone (with hideous Jacksonville Jags Christmas sweater) brings out AEW World Champion Adam Page. Page reflects on last week and how, when it was over, he didn't feel like a champion.  Danielson comes out to confront him and calls him an entitled millenial cowboy, mocking him for his emotions.  He does agree that the fans should be disappointed in Page.  Danielson says that if anyone should be champion, it's him. Danielson blames a tweaked knee from the John Silver match for him not winning last week.  He claims to have a solution in the event Page stalls out again.  He wants judges at ringside to determine a winner if it goes the distance.  Page agrees to the judges, saying he should pay them well in advance since they won't be necessary.

The Pinnacle is backstage. MJF is upset that Wardlow was slow on the draw last week. He's more upset that this is what CM Punk does to people, ripping them to pieces emotionally as he has no family to speak of.

Wardlow w/Shawn Spears vs. Shawn Deen

Lockup, Deen goes down.  Powerbomb by Wardlow.  Another.  Another.  4th time's the charm.  Wardlow covers him for the pin.

WINNER: Wardlow

We see a preview of Sammy Guevara vs. Cody Rhodes for the TNT Title this Saturday Night.

Dan Lambert and the Men of the Year are in the crowd.  Lambert mocks the crowd and brags about his success.  Lambert runs down Tony Kahn favoring his friends.  Lambert laments that greatness like Sky and Page are not wrestling Saturday while EVP Rhodes gets another big match.  He accuses Kahn of trying to use him to get the crowd to cheer for Cody.

Schiavone is backstage with Dr. Britt Baker DMD, Rebel and Jamie Hayter.  Baker is in a foul mood over Riho's upcoming challenge.

We have a preview of the upcoming Owen Hart Cup tournaments. Mark Henry, Adam Cole, Matt Hardy, 2.0, Eddie Kingston, Dustin Rhodes and Shawn Spears all have kind words about Owen.

TBS Title Semi Final Bout: Nyla Rose w/Vickie Guerrero vs. Ruby Soho

Chokeslam by Rose, followed by a short arm clothesline.  Rose with a face rake.  Soho chops back, nailing an uppercut and a series of headbutts.  Outside the ring, Soho runs into the steps as Vickie pulled Rose out the way.  We go to commercial.

Either Ruby hurt her shoulder for real or she's doing an amazing job selling the pain.
