4. Ryusuke Taguchi vs. Taiji Ishimori

Surprising win by Taguchi. I expected to see Ishimori closer to the lead.
5. SHO vs. YOH
YOH comes to the ring in black ring gear. He was wearing white gear for the entire tournament.
YOH was aggressive as he should be. SHO played the scared chicken heel well. Until SHO was able to smash YOH into a guardrail. SHO tried to smother YOH with a red rag. Then he destroyed a chair on YOH’s back.
YOH rallied back. SHO pushed YOH into the referee, who took a bump to the outside. YOH hits a Dragon Suplex but no referee to make the count.
EVIL, Yujiro Takahashi and Dick Togo jump into the ring and beat down YOH. Hirooki Goto and YOSHI-HASHI make the save and chase off House of Torture. The crowd applauds for YOH to get up and fight.
SHO goes for a Shock Arrow, but YOH reverses out and hits a superkick.
YOH plants SHO with a Direct Driver.
YOH pins SHO.
Good match. I expected House of Torture to make an appearance but their distraction did not affect the finish.
With this win, YOH takes the lead in the BOSJ 28 with 14 points.
6. El Desperado vs. El Phantasmo
Both men tried to pull out their tricks early in match. They hit their best moves but could not put each other away. ELP has been using the moves of former Bullet Club members in his matches. He hit Desperado with a Styles Clash. He hit a V-Trigger and went for a One Winged Angel. He had Desperado on his shoulders then he stopped. He put Desperado on the mat and then hit a Bladerunner. ELP went for the pin but Desperado grabbed the ropes. ELP went for a CR2. Desperado reversed out and went for an El Es Culero. Two count. Desperado hit Guitarra de Angel. Two count. Desperado went for Pinche Loco. ELP reversed out and hit a Pinche Loco of his own. Desperado kicks out at two. They start throwing elbows. ELP removes his elbow pads. He goes to throw an elbow but does a spin kick to the gut. Desperado doubled over. ELP hits Sudden Death.
ELP pins Desperado.
Great fun match. A lot of small things that both men did in the tournament lead to this match. The same could be said about the SHO/YOH match.
YOH remains in the lead with 14 points.
ELP could get a title shot for the IWGP Jr. Heavyweight belt. Also the tease of a leadership change continues.
7. Robbie Eagles vs. Hiromu Takahashi
High flying contest which turned into a stiff match. Both men beat the crap out of each other.
Hiromu dropped Eagles on his head with a Time Bomb II.
Hiromu pins Eagles.
Good match, but a brutal one. Both men took a beating. Eagles took some crazy bumps on his neck which was scary. Especially because Hiromu was out for over a year with his own neck injury.
