AEW's debut at the UBS Arena in Long Island, NY drew just a little under 10,000. Sources with the venue confirmed that the AEW crowd was about double the crowd for Monday Night Raw a few weeks ago as the venue had to open the upper deck for the show last night and also bring in additional staffing, guard rails, etc. to help manage the crowd, which was not needed for Raw. I was surprised a return date was not announced, but we are told that is in the planning.
Former ECW star Joel Gertner and Northeast Wrestling promoter Mike Lombardi, who goes back a long way with the Rhodes family, were at the show.
