By Adam Cardoza on 2021-12-05 20:45:00

Beyond Wrestling “Fête Forever”

12/5/21 - Providence, RI

Streaming on IWTV.live

Wow.

My first live Beyond show was here at Fete Music Hall. Americanrana 15. So many memories for me in this venue. Kimber diving off the balcony at Dickinson. Ciampa “breaking” the undefeated streak of Dijak. Suge’s unholy deathmatch run. The Bucks vs Death By Elbow. The MANY fights over the “titles” of Ace or TFT.

I’m seeing people here I haven’t spotted in a Beyond crowd in a LONG time. We are packed today. Championship FREAKIN’ Melt is here! Steve the Turtle is ringing the bell! I’m standing on the balcony next to the hard cam, WHERE I BELONG. Seriously this is one of my favorites spots to stand in all of wrestling. OK ENOUGH GUSHING! We have a Spotlight Match to get to!

Spotlight Match: Teddy Goodz vs “The Dimepiece” Aaron Rourke (w/ Cam Zagami)

Cam (wearing a red pleather suit. Wow.) grabs the mic and makes sure Teddy knows that Club Cam rules. Rourke with a shotgun dropkick at the bell but Goodz hits a few whips and backdrop to get the momentum back. Cam trips him up, backstabber! Two count. They trade some LOUD chops in the corner, Rourke rakes the eyes! Hangman’s superkick and a double knee gf the corner! Rourke reminds Teddy of that time Goodz had a match of the year contender with Matt Cardona with a boot wash. Goodz slaps the taste out his mouth, iconoclasym, atomic drop, clothesline! Like of elbows and chops! Backpack stunner! Rourke kicks out! Goodz to the top, ref distracted, Cam throws him off the top, Rourke hits a split legged moonsault to get the three and earn the boos of the crowd. Hot warmup!

Holy hell we’re live! Sidney Bakabella and 12/5’s Best Human Paul Crockett are your commentary team! “Sexy” Rich Palladino is your announcer. LET’S! F******! GOOOOOO!

Match 1: Alex Shelley(c) vs “The Runaway” Ruby Soho (for the IWTV  Championship)

We are kicking this off HOT! Welcome back Ruby Soho! No one hates Shelley but they’d be over the moon if Soho took the belt. We have a brief feeling out period in this 60-min time limit contest. They grapple over an arm bar but Shelley shows why he’s the champ and takes Ruby down for a quick pin attempt. Shelley trade shoulder blocks, slaps in a sleeper but eats a jaw jacker. Ruby flips into an arm lock and the champ is stuck and can’t quite reverse the hold over several attempts. Soho with a gut kick and superkick to the head sends the champ to the floor! She goes to dive and he runs in to hit a backbreaker, prompting a lot of boos! Shelley stretches her hard for the next few minutes, Soho is barely working her way out and staying ahead of finish. Ruby fights out of a bear hug and hits a series of strikes and lariats that stagger Shelley. Soho rams him into the buckles face first, heads up, senton hits the knees! Shelley tries a pin, Soho escapes but falls right into a crossface! Soho struggles and gets to the rope, but Shelley was trying hard to cut her off of that. Shelley with an arm breaker! Soho hits a series of shots to the heads before Shelley trips her up. They trade cross faces, Soho tries the buckle spike again! They trade pins back and forth! Shelley hits a Sister Abigail and transition right into the crossface. Soho HAS TO tap! Hell of a fight here to start our show! Soho and Shelley shake on it as the crowd cheers “Welcome Home” & “Please Come Back” as Ruby makes he exit. Awesome.

Winner (and still champ): Alex Shelley

Match 2: “Megasus” Megan Bayne vs Tasha Steelz

A Create a Pro showdown that’s overdue in Beyond/WWR+! Bayne is an absolute unit, especially compared to the smaller Steel. Steelz is able to dodge and strike but Bayne is wearing her down with powerful offense and counters. Tasha keeps trying a ddt out of the corner but Bayne just muscles out of it every time. Running senton! Tasha still fighting but Bayne slams her down for two and wrenches away at the neck. Big delay slingshot slam! Steelz keeps kicking out. Steelz dodges a charge and Bayne wipes her knee out in the buckles. Steelz throwing fists and tries to finish but Megasus just slams her down again. Steelz with a gut kick and short ddt for two! Steelz with a brief glimmer of hope, tries a sharpshooter. Bayne powers out, Steelz with a chopblock and a slingshot bulldog! Megan catches a crossbody into the Bow Down but Steelz knows her and turns it into a crucifix bomb for two! Steelz dodges a F5 and hits a cutter! Kick out! Tasha to the top but Bayne’s subjects distract the ref and throw Steelz off the top! Bayne hits the tombstone! Steelz is out! 1 2 3!

Winner: Megan Bayne

As I feel like I say a lot, WHO CAN BEAT MEGAN BAYNE? Tasha Steelz sure as hell tried and it took interference for Bayne to scratch this one out.

Match 3: John Silver & Alex Reynolds vs Whatever It Takes (VSK & Smark Mark Sterling)

Call them Dark Order. Call them The Beaver Boys. Whatever you call ‘em, Providence is hype for their return. Reynolds has some unfinished business with his old stablemates from a couple months ago…and Sterling wants no part of it. VSK wants to trade power with the Meat Man. Hahahahahahahaha! You know how this goes. VSK finally with a gut kick and brings in Sterling but Solver is TOO STRONG. Reynolds in to torture Sterling a bit. Mark thinks he’s smart but Reynolds just wipes him out. VSK with an apron slam while the ref is distracted turns the tables. WIT throwing quick tags and cheap shots around. Sterling with the most braggadocious suplex of all time. Silver is kept away from the tag and that sure is whatever it takes. Reynolds dodges a pair of knee drops, and a cheap shot. Pin attempt from Reynolds but VSK with a high knee! Reynolds escapes the follow up and tags in Silver! VSK takes the brunt of his wrath, including a powerbomb for two! VSK sent flying out and Reynolds goes haywire on Sterling. The Boys hit THAT SEQUENCE  and Sterling should be done but VSK saves the match. Silver fires up on VSK but Sterling ambushes with a rough Ryder. Sterling distracts the ref, Reynolds gets low blowed, VSK gets brass knuckles! He goes for the shot but REYNOLDS THROWS A FIREBALL IN HIS FACE!!! Sterling is down for the pin, Silver runs interference on VSK and Dark Order rules the day!

Winners: Silver & Reynolds

Match 4: Kimber Lee vs Masha Slamovich

Welcome home, Kimber Lee! Slugfest right at the bell. Trading punches, kicks, Germans. This is the fighter returned to Providence in Kimber. Masha eats a series of spin kicks, and bites her way out of a choke. This is all fire and fight from these two. Masha storms back with a PK for two.   Side Russian slam for two! Masha throwing headbutt after headbutt. Trading running kicks, Slamovich crumbles and crawls out of the corner. Double head kick, double down! Masha with a series of charges and a savat kick for two! Kimber is looking beat but Suplex Kimmy comes out of the woodwork to make her presence felt. Triple German but only two for Kimber.   Lee bombs her on her head and Masha isn’t dead somehow. Kick out! Kimber grabs a crutch from ringside and BLASTS IT into the back of the head. Two refs have to get the crutch away and send Kim to the back, but this match is over. Crazy aggressive but damn, that crutch shot looked ROUGH. Kimber is clearly upset about yet another rising women’s star in Beyond.

Winner: Masha Slamovich (by DQ)

Match 5: Wheeler Yuta vs “Hot Sauce” Tracy Williams

Do you kids like slick technical wrestling that will turn violent at some point? Have I got the match for you. Hot Wheelz decides to kick their return to a tag unit off…with a singles match! As expected, they trade graps and traps early. Williams with a sick grapevine into a senton. Sauce catches a leapfrog into a roll up for two. Yuta tries to escapes but falls into a cross armbreaker. Yuta has answers for Tracy’s offense but Sauce has answers for that two. Yuta rakes the eyes finally, showing that mean streak he had as IWTV champ, and works over the ankles. Yuta has learned and is not the same man that challenged Sauce for the title years ago. Yuta grapevines and gives a thumbs up before surfboarding Sauce. Yuta tries a Muta lock! Tracy grabs a choke out of it! Trading shots on their feet, this has gotten aggressive. Yuta misses a crossbody and eats knees. Gutwrench bomb from Williams for two! Yuta eating some hellacious chops and forearms before he stuns Sauce and crossbodies him. Triangle shotgun dropkick! Sauce goes to the floor, Yuta flies out after him! Yuta catches an elbow in the corner into a bridging German for two! Sauce fighting out of the Yuta’s attempts to finish. Big lairat for two into a crossface! Yuta tries a pin! Olympic slam! Yuta with a crossface! Williams escapes an ankle lock into a DVD! Yuta kicks out! This is great. Williams throws down the elbow pad and wants the piledriver! Yuta stops that, avoids the top buckles DDT, off the top! Frogsplash into the knees! Williams comes in for the kill but Yuta flips into a jackknife pin and gets the three! The student has beaten the teacher! This WAS awesome, says I and the chanting crowd. They shake hands and leave, their roads ahead are paved as a tandem now.

Winner: Wheeler Yuta

Match 6: SLADE vs Rickey Shane Page (No DQ)

I just assume this match is no DQ. Every SLADE match is No DQ, right?!? SLADE fills the ring with chairs and door before RSP even enters. I applaud his efficiency. RSP thinks he’s good but SLADE blasts him through a door and blasts him with chairs. RSP choked with a chair. SLADE grabs more plunder! RSP recovers with a head kick and slingshot toss across the ring. He whips a chair into a prone SLADE. Rude awakening onto the edge of a chair! SLADE with a chokeslam into a chair structure! Powerslam! Kick out! RSP yeets SLADE through more chairs. Big top rope frogsplash! SLADE kicks out! RSP builds a chair and door structure! Superplex through the toys! SLADE kicks out! RSP throws SLADE up and kicks him in the back of the head! SLADE goes limp and stays down for the three! RSP and SLADE fist bump after this war.

Winner: RSP

Mark Sterling is out to antagonize RSP. He has a message from Matt Cardona. It involves VSK ambushing him from behind with a superkick. SLADE is back out here to make the save! WIT is run off! RSP grabs a mic and challenges WIT against him & SLADE at Uncharted Territory! That is sure to be VIOLENT!

(INTERMISSION)

Match 7: Bear Country (Bear Bronson & Bear Boulder) vs Mane Event (Jay Lyon & Midas Black) vs Shook Crew (Bryce Donovan & Bobby Orlando w/ Cam Zagami) vs Waves & Curls (Traevon Jordan & Jaelyn Brandyn)

Our first surprise match of the night and what a giant-sized 4-way tag we have here! Crowd pops hard for the reemergence of Waves & Curls! Midas and Brandyn kick this off in a Discovery Gauntlet rematch of sorts. Fast moves, pin attempts and a double Kip up into a stare down. Orlando wants in and Jaelyn makes him regret that. Bryce in to double team and thrown Jaelyn into Orlando’s knees. The Bears bring in the power and we have a Boulder/Jordan hoss fight. Boulder catches Jaelyn and presses him overhead. Jordan tries to save but eats a spine buster and Bronson starts slamming men into other men. Shook Crew is almost scared to interfere. Everyone is trying to keep Jaelyn grounded, perceived as the weakest person in this fight. The crowd starts singing Staying Alive to hype Jaelyn back into the fight! Bryce wipes out Jordan. Midas gets the hot tag and all hell breaks loose. Mane Event has Jordan taking a lot of offense. They try the Lion ring but Bronson shoulder tackles Lyon and makes the dive himself, to Midas’ surprise. Lyon with a rope walk moonsault to the outside! Bobby with a backcracker. Shook Crew wipes out Mane Event but Bronson is in to fight…The Crew wipes him out too with a huge combo…and turn into a Boulder crossbody! Yikes! Boulder wants a Vader bomb but Shook Crew try to hit a doomsday device! Bronson throws Bobby off the top to the apron, Bryce turns inside out with a Boulder sized uranage. Winners: Waves & Curls

Willow is hyped up for this crowd but is very unsure of herself across the ring from the Impaler. They lock up, Max quickly overpowers Willlow and almost chokes her out in the opening headlock! Willow with a reverse into a rana but can’t power Max out of the corner. Willow keeps the fight going, chopblocking Mac and hitting a senton to the back for two. Big body attack wipes out Nightingale. Max rips off one of Willow’s eyelashes and EATS IT. Max growling and beating the hell out of Willow but almost falls to a small package. Short arm wild lariat almost KO’s Willow. Willow manages to cartwheel out of danger to hit a superkick that stuns the Impaler. Willow whips into corner elbows! Cannonball! Two count! Blake hits a 450 double knee! How does Price kick out of that?!?! Price tries the back head kick but Blake rolls him up. Fast pin attempts and brawling! Trading superkicks! Price crumbles Blake with a sudden forearm and hits the back head kick for another surprisingly clean victory! This was wildly good, huge energy through the fight.

Dutch is impervious to invisible bullets and hits a ripcord boss man slam into a door and chairs. Dutch drinks a beer and tells Dan to die before blasting him with a chair to the back and throwing the beer at him. Dutch has a box….what’s in the box?!?! Oh, it’s tacks. Of course. Winner: Dutch

Vincent comes out from the back with Vita VonStarr to congratulate the monster of The Righteous. He runs down Dan Barry for being jealous of Dutch’s success in ROH. Dan Barry wants revenge? Vincent’s shackles are off and he can give Dan Barry what he wants. It’s been a long time since Vincent was in Beyond but never like THIS. Welcome back…and here we gooooooo!

And that’s it for Fete Forever! Thank goodness this isn’t a one and done because man, it was GOOD to be back in this venue. I loved their supershow at Somerville last month but the overall crowd energy and work here blew that one away. I was overjoyed to be back in THIS balcony just to be able to take some solid pictures again (which this venue is fantastic for). In tonight’s show, we have a lot of story set up for the future and here we are, on the road to the WRESTIVAL. Can’t wait. But first we have a few weeks of Uncharted Territory coming…until then!
