Game Changer Wrestling announced they would honor former ECW World Champion Sabu, who recently stated he has retired from competing in the ring, at their 1/14/22 in Detroit, Michigan, which would be Sabu's hometown. Obviously, his family has very entrenched roots in the market as his Uncle the late, great Original Sheik promoted the market for many decades. The 1/14 event will be held at the legendary Harpo's Theatre. Originally opening in 1939, Harpo's has hosted concerts for decades and is best known for being a major club destination for rock, hip hop and heavy metal concerts.

Ricky Morton will be working for the promotion on 1/14 in Detroit and 1/15 in Hoffman Estates, Illinois. PCO is working for the promotion that weekend as well.

A GoFund Me campaign has also been launched to assist Game Changer Wrestling regular Chris Dickinson, who will be out of action for six months after suffering a freak hip injury while performing for New Japan Pro Wrestling. What truly sucks about the timing of the injury is that Dickinson will have to miss performing on the 1/23/22 Hammerstein Ballroom debut for the company.
