Black Adam is an ancient Egyptian predecessor of DC Comics' Shazam! who became corrupted after receiving his powers. He's one of the more powerful and popular DC Comic villains and will allow Rock to play a darker character. There were allusions made to him, although not by name, in DC's feature film adaptation of Shazam!
Last year during DC Comics' first Fandome virtual gathering, Johnson himself revealed that DC Comics' original superhero team The Justice Society of America would be featured in the film, including the characters of Hawkman, The Atom Smasher, Dr. Fate and Cyclone.
The film has a 7/29/22 release date.
DC has already released the first shirt for the film at this link.
