THE FUTURE OF RING OF HONOR, ABYSS, PERFORMING FOR WWE WHEN YOU ARE AN EXEC AND MORE

By Mike Johnson on 2021-12-03 10:00:00

Has there been any word on the future of Ring of Honor and its TV series?

The company will technically exist going beyond next week's Final Battle PPV.   They have the venue for an April 2022 date booked.  So, we will see but obvioiusly, once talents' contracts are cut, they can go anywhere they want.  So, if and whenever ROH resumes, it will be a completely separate entity.  As far as the TV series, they have contact dating back to 2002 they can re-purpose and produce.  That is my guess as to where they will go in terms of a direction after the content they have in the can is done.

Whatever happened to Abyss?  Could he come to AEW?

Retired and now producing for WWE.  I don't believe he's interested in wrestling going forward as his body, as you can imagine, is pretty banged up?

When people work behind the scenes for WWE and appear on camera, is that a separate deal and check?

If they are regular performers, yes.  Vince McMahon, etc. is paid a separate salary as a performer than he would be as an executive.

Did anyone ever find Mark Carrano after WWE fired him?

I haven't heard of him being involved in pro wrestling again.  I am sure he's moved on to whatever is next for him.

Do you see AEW hiring Carrano?

Not really.
