11-28-21 Results from New Japan’s World Tag League 2021 from Togane Chiba, Japan:
Yuji Nagata came out to address the crowd. Chiba is Nagata’s hometown.
1. Yuto Nakashima vs. Kosei Fujita
Both men wrestled to a draw.
World Tag League 2021 Matches:
2. Tomoaki Honma and Togi Makabe vs. Satoshi Kojima and Hiroyoshi Tenzan
Kojima flattens Honma with a big lariat.
Kojima pins Honma.
3. SANADA and Tetsuya Naito vs. Chase Owens and Bad Luck Fale
Fale and Owens went after Naito’s knee that was injured in the G1 Climax. Naito fought back and SANADA tagged in. Fale’s power was the equalizer against the speed of LIJ and he quickly squashed SANADA with a big elbow. Owens tagged in and was, surprisingly, able to trap SANADA in his own Paradise Lock. Before Owens could follow up, Naito made the save and freed SANADA. Bullet Club double teamed Naito. Naito fell to the floor. They double teamed SANADA. Fale went to the floor. Owens went for a Package Piledriver. SANADA reversed out and caught Owens with an O’Conner Roll.
SANADA pinned Owens.
Los Ingobernales de Japon remain undefeated in WTL 2021.
4. Toru Yano and Hiroshi Tanahashi vs. Aaron Henare and Great O-Khan
Crazy match with comedy spots. Yano catches Henare with a low blow and rolls him up with a school boy.
Yano pins Henare.
5. YOSHI-HASHI and Hirooki Goto vs. Yujiro Takahashi and EVIL, with Dick Togo
CHAOS attacks House of Torture at the bell. EVIL ripped off a turnbuckle pad and Yujiro threw Goto into the metal bolt. EVIL and Yujiro have the advantage. Goto rallied back and tagged YOSHI-HASHI. Pace picks up. Referee bump. EVIL with low blows. Togo chokes out YOSHI-HASHI and EVIL hits him with a chair. Yujiro breaks his Pimp Stick on YOSHI-HASHI. Yujiro hits Big Juice on YOSHI-HASHI.
Yujiro pins YOSHI-HASHI.
Just another day at the office for House of Torture.
6. Zack Sabre Jr. and Taichi vs. Tama Tonga and Tanga Loa, with Jado
Tekkers and G.O.D. know each other very well. This was a back and forth fight. Multiple double team moves. Reversals to finishers. Great stuff.
All four men were battling in the ring. Tanga Loa picked up ZSJ for a Magic Killer. Taichi grabbed Tama Tonga’s leg so they could not complete the move.
ZSJ rolled Tanga Loa into a small package for a pin and win.
Similar to the El Desperado and Robbie Eagles match the night before, both teams knew each other so well that they could not use their usual tricks. It came down to a surprise pin in the end.
7. Tiger Mask and Yuji Nagata vs. TAKA Michinoku and Minoru Suzuki
Suzuki-Gun were the villains against the hometown hero Nagata. Suzuki-Gun dominated the early parts of the match. Nagata fought back but Suzuki would attack him with chairs and wires to choke him out. (No ref bumps.) TAKA kept Tiger Mask at distance on the ring apron, while they kept Nagata in the ring. Pace picked up and all four men were in and out of the ring. Tiger Mask and Nagata hit a double enzugiri to Suzuki. Nagata hit a back suplex on TAKA.
Nagata pins TAKA.
Suzuki went on a rampage after the match, throwing chairs and screaming at his opponents. He eventually went back to the locker room.
Solid match. The idea was to give Nagata a main event win in his hometown. Who knows how much time he has left in the ring, so it was nice for New Japan to give respect to the wrestler in his own home.
Tomoaki Honma, Togi Makabe, Hiroyoshi Tenzan, Satoshi Kojima and Hiroshi Tanahashi came to ringside. Ring attendants came to ringside with flowers and gifts. Nagata presented a framed photo to Kojima and Tenzan. Nagata then called Masahiro Chono to the ring who was on commentary. He presented the flower bouquets to Tenzan and Kojima. This was a celebration of their 30 years in pro wrestling.
