Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide has announced El Hijo del Vikingo will face Samuray Del Sol in a multi-man match with more competitors to be named for the newly vacant AAA Mega Championship at its Triplemanía Regia show on December 4 in the Monterrey Baseball Stadium after former champion Kenny Omega vacated the title yesterday.

Omega was previously scheduled to attempt his sixth defense of the AAA Mega Championship against Vikingo at Triplemanía Regia, a match one year in the making, but AAA owner Dorian Roldán announced yesterday that Omega would miss the show due to an unspecified surgery (PWInsider reported on November 17 that Omega may be out for an extended period of time from in-ring action as he is likely looking at shoulder surgery) and the title was vacated.
Omega sent a video message, posted on AAA’s Twitter account yesterday, confirming his impending surgery and promising to return to AAA to reclaim the title.

AAA head of creative Konnan confirmed to Sports Illustrated yesterday that Omega “will be first in line for the title when he gets back” and guaranteed that Omega will face Vikingo at a later date.
