ROMAN REIGNS TALKS THE ROCK, FAMILY, SURVIVOR SERIES, WRESTLEMANIA & MORE ON TONIGHT SHOW WITH JIMMY FALLON

By Mike Johnson on 2021-11-18 09:30:00

WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns appeared on last night's edition of The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon on NBC.

They discussed how Roman and his wife not only have TWO sets of twins but also a daughter who is about to turn 14, who Reigns joked is a "handful."  Reigns noted that he embarassed her by playing the Christmas music before Thanksgiving.  He was dropping her up on school and as soon as he pulls up in the circle to drop her off, he cranks up Mariah Carey's All I Want For Christmas is You.  All his daughter wants to do is get away but she has a project in the back seat.

He was asked if he was always the kid who was picked for athletics and he says he was.  He told stories of trying to cut weight before games, wearing trash bags and running around to make weight in nothing but his underwear.  Then, he hit middle school and he was small and his sisters would tease he was going to be the smallest one in the family but he finally sprouted.

Fallon talked about the Superman punch and showed a photo of the height Reigns gets while leaping for it, which the live audience gasped at.  Fallon pointed out that was a legitimate photo, not something doctored.  Fallon asked what Reigns sees from his perspective doing that move.  He said he sees an oppponent's fear and regret as they wonder why they are in the ring with him.

Fallon plugged this Sunday's WWE Survivor Series PPV on Peacock and said it was a big event and a big match for Reigns, who is wrestling WWE Champion Big E.  Reigns said it's going down in the Barclays Center.

Fallon noted today was the 25th anniversary of The Rock debuting and Fallon wondered whether Rock would make an appearance.  Reigns said he has not heard these rumors and he's "closer than anybody" before seguing into the fact that he also debuted at Survivor Series, "so there's a nice tie-in there."  Reigns was asked if he would fight the Rock.  Reigns said that he would but he doesn't know that Rock wants to.  Reigns said he fought his cousin Jey Uso a year ago and where better to solve questions then the squared circle.

Fallon noted that he's been to Wrestlemania in the past and WWE doesn't mess around.  He plugged the Dallas on sale and that the show is now a two-day event.  Reigns said that somehow they've made Wrestlemania bigger.  They talked about Bad Bunny appearing last year.  Reigns said they try to bring in outside entertainment and have as much fun as possible.  Reigns pushed the idea of coming to Wrestlemania next year.  Fallon said he would be there.

Reigns said he's wrestling a great athlete in Big E, the WWE Champion, who is the best on Raw, but Reigns said his own work has been spoken for and he's going to smash E on the PPV.

Reigns came off very likable, well spoken and was a great representive for the company while also teasing the idea of The Rock heading to Brooklyn this Sunday to entice the average viewer who might not be attuned or interested in WWE in general.
