BETTING SITES MAKE LESNAR EARLY FAVORITE FOR ROYAL RUMBLE

By Kendall Jenkins on 2021-11-16 20:55:00

Online sportsbooks have updated their odds for the 2022 Royal Rumble and while prices vary across each site, they are all unanimous in that Brock Lesnar is the clear favorite to win the men’s match for the second time in his career.

Unibet has the 2003 winner at +175 to come out on top and move on to a title match at Wrestlemania 38 at the AT&T Stadium.

Lesnar has already lost a Universal Championship bout against Roman Reigns in recent weeks as The Usos helped ‘The Big Dog’ retain at Crown Jewel in Saudi Arabia - an ending that perhaps leaves the door open for a rematch in Texas on April 3.

The appetite might not be there for another Reigns-Lesnar program, though, so a WWE Championship challenge can’t be ruled out for Lesnar if he does win the Men’s Royal Rumble.

Seth Rollins is the shortest-priced full-time wrestler in the match winner market at +700, while The Rock - who hasn’t competed since Wrestlemania 29 with the exception of a six-second squash of Erick Rowan five years ago - is in the mix at +800.

A match between The Rock and Roman Reigns has been rumored ever since the latter became a major superstar, and with Dwayne Johnson approaching 50 years of age, the window may be closing for the pair - who are close friends - to carry out the match that Johnson says they talk about ‘all the time’.

Damian Priest was a surprise entrant in the 2021 Royal Rumble and has since gone on to win the United States Championship, which he still holds after taking it from Sheamus at Summerslam.

The popular New Yorker certainly fits the mold of a potential Royal Rumble winner, and he can be backed at +1000.

Current WWE Champion, Big E, is at +1200 along with last year’s winner, Edge.

Some of the more outrageous names listed on Unibet are Tyson Fury (+4000), Conor McGregor (+5000), and even Vince McMahon himself (+50000).

The Women’s Royal Rumble match doesn’t have as clear a favorite as the men’s, but Bayley leads the way on the top betting sites in the US.

Having already been a Triple Crown Champion and Grand Slam winner, the Royal Rumble is one of the only achievements that Bayley is yet to manage and after tearing her ACL in the summer, Bayley is rightly a prime candidate to make a triumphant return in January as long as she is physically able to.

Bayley’s odds are +300, while Bianca Belair is not far behind at +450 to make it two Royal Rumble victories in succession.

Becky Lynch and Sasha Banks can be backed at +700 apiece and Charlotte Flair is next at +800, which truly emphasizes how important the ‘Four Horsewomen’ remain in the women’s division.

Some interesting outside bets could be Asuka at +1500 and Alexa Bliss at +1700 - neither of whom has held a world championship in the last 12 months.

Natalya at +5000 might also tempt some adventurous bettors.
