TONY KHAN PREVIEWS FULL GEAR

On this week's AEW Unrestricted podcast, Tony Khan does a Full Gear 2021 pay-per-view preview with Aubrey Edwards and special guest cohost Excalibur. Some notable stuff from podcast:

Tony Khan reiterates multiple times during the show that "Full Gear" this Saturday is really a showcase of the "new roster" of AEW, speaking in terms of CM Punk, Bryan Danielson and Adam Cole who debuted in September for All Out. Khan states that All Out was one of the most successful pay-per-views in company history, and with the stacked card of Saturday in Minneapolis, he thinks the show could be as well.

In terms of Kenny Omega versus Adam Page, Tony Khan states that the World Title showdown is one of the most anticipated matches in wrestling today. Khan puts over the history between the two and talks about Omega's representation at the AEW World Champion and all the defenses in the last year.

In discussing Bryan Danielson versus Miro World Championship Eliminator finals, Tony Khan talks about the Jon Moxley situation, saying that Miro was a suitable replacement due to his ranking within the company and his recent long run as TNT Champion. Khan states that the Redeemer has been talking about his purpose and maybe this was in the design all along. Tony talks about the matches, Brian Danielson has had with Dustin Rhodes and others within the company. TK also talks about how this match the didn't seem possible just a few months ago.

When talking about Eddie Kingston versus CM Punk, Tony Khan talks about how a few months ago, this match did not seem possible. They discuss The Players Tribune Eddie Kingston article and his road to get to AEW and CM Punk's road back to wrestling. Khan says CM Punk being involved in the highest-rated segments in AEW history. Tony also talks about how proud he is of Eddie Kingston's development over the last year with the company.

Previewing the Minneapolis Street Fight between American Top Team and The Inner Circle, TK jokes about wanting to see Dan Lambert get his butt kicked. Then Khan talks about garnering a friendship between himself and the UFC competitors as their bubble was close to Jacksonville. Tony talks about Dan Lambert's wrestling fandom and his belt collection. He talks about possible TNT title implications for Scorpio Sky coming out of this match, as he has made his intentions known. Junior Dos Santos in-ring debut was touted, saying that his in ring skill was very impressive.

When talking about Tay Conti versus Britt Baker for the Women's Championship, they discuss Britt Baker burning the candle at both ends with her wrestling schedule and her dental practice. They tout Conti and her legitimate martial arts background. Khan said he was happy to sign Conti saying he did not understand why others let her go. Khan says with the help of Anna Jay and Thunder Rosa, Conti can neutralize any outside interference. 

In talking about The Young Bucks and Adam Cole versus Jungle Boy, Christian Cage and Luchasaurus Falls Count Anywhere match, Khan talks about how crazy it is that this is Adam Cole's AEW pay-per-view debut. Tony talks about the craziness of the Cage Match with The Young Bucks at All Out and says anything is possible.  

Previewing FTR versus Lucha Brothers for the AEW Tag Team Championship, Tony discusses FTR's recent ruse capturing the AAA Tag Team Titles with the guidance of Tully Blanchard and the possibilities of the two teams facing off being a dream match.

In Tony's opinion, Cody Rhodes and PAC versus Andrade and Malakai Black is a representation of the new roster versus the original crew. They talk about the relationship between all four men.

MJF versus Darby Allin is representation of the four pillars of the young talent in AEW. They talk about how Sting taking Darby under his wing really made him better.
