It is interesting to note WWE has dropped the Takeover name for the special, marking the end of that title being used after it was instituted in 2014.
Steven Fernandes sent the following...Shortly after the Wargames announcement aired on TV, the WWE and WWE NXT Twitter accounts were each advertising Wargames as a NXT Takeover, but those references have since been removed.
