JON MOXLEY AUTOBIOGRAPHY OFFICIALLY RELEASED TODAY

By Mike Johnson on 2021-11-02 09:48:00

Jon Moxley's autobiography Mox has been officially released as of today Tuesday 11/2.

I read an advance copy of the book and it's an unflinching window into the stranger than fiction core of pro wrestling, an unfiltered journey through the muck and mud of not just an insane series of live experiences but the street smarts and will power needed to survive them.  The book covers everything from his earliest days in the business through WWE and AEW and even some really funny stories about his relationship with wife Renee Paquette.

The book is an unadulterated injection of pure Moxley, with all the piss and blood and sneering, cool confidence one usually expects from his matches. As someone who has interviewed and had conversations with Moxley in the past, I can tell you that it reads exactly the way he speaks.  Honest, unrelenting and full of twisted wit, Mox is as transparent as any author could ever hope to be; it's obvious there's no ghostwriter here and this will be remembered as one of the best books about pro wrestling life for a long, long time.  Needless to say, I think it was a great read and well worth tracking down.

Official promotional material for the book notes:

A vivid trip through the mind of the top professional wrestler in the business—a nobody from nowhere who achieved his ambitions and walked away with the gold and the girl of his dreams.

Ride alongside Jon Moxley as he retraces some of the highways traveled on his remarkable journey. Revel in the never-before-told stories about his early life in Cincinnati, Ohio; the gritty independent wrestling scene where he cut his teeth; the complicated corporate landscape of the WWE where he bucked against authority; and the rebellious upstart AEW, where he won the championship in 2020 and was finally free to achieve the vision of the wrestler he’d always wanted to be.

With plenty of pitstops and revelatory insights, including grisly ultraviolent encounters, crazy characters who became lifelong friends, and his unforgettable matches in Japan, MOX is the riveting account of the life of a brawler. It is a tale written in blood and soaked in debauchery, with a good dose of wisdom accumulated along the way.

More than a backstage pass into the arena, MOX is a ticket into the ring. Once inside, you’ll never look at pro wrestling the same again.
