NBC UNIVERSAL CEO PRAISES PEACOCK STREAMING SERVICE

By Steven Fernandes on 2021-10-28 18:46:00

During their Q3 earnings call today, Comcast reported total revenue of $30.3 billion, an increase of 19% over the same quarter last year.

NBC Universal revenue was $10 billion, an increase of 58%. Advertising revenue increased 73% partly due to additional Peacock sales.

No updated subscriber numbers were given for Peacock, but NBCU CEO Jeff Shell noted, "Everything on Peacock is heading in the right direction. There’s really nothing, from a trajectory perspective, that’s any different than it was last quarter or the quarter before. All metrics are pointed up. Our usage continues to be great, our mix of users continues to be great. We added a few million more subs, more monthly active users. The company couldn’t be more excited about where Peacock is. We’ve been a business for just over a year and we’re already more than a third of what Hulu is now, which is a service that’s more than a decade in the making."

Peacock is the home of the WWE Network content here in the United States.
