COMPLETE AEW DYNAMITE BLOG

By Cory Strode on 2021-10-27 20:05:00

It's Wednesday, it's time for AEW Dynamite from Aggaris Arena in Boston MA. Our announcers are Jim Ross, Excalibur, and Tony Schiavone. Tony lets us know that the show is sold out.

CM Punk vs Bobby Fish

Punk is in long trunks against for those who follow that. They take their time to hook up and once t6hey do, Punk is going to headlocks and other mat based moves. Fish counters with a well worked read headlock and makes it in interesting move as they jockey for position. When they get to their feet then move into strikes and kicks, which the commentators position as where Fish is more powerful.

Punk hits a tope on Fish, rolls him into the ring, and when Punk goes to the top, Fish slowly rolls out of the ring to lay in wait for Punk. After a few more attacks, he works over Punk's leg on the mat. Fish then takes Punk out of the ring and works him over. Fish remembers to break the count and that gives Punk a chance for a comeback that Fish ends with a strike to the midsection. Fish is working Punk over deliberately, making him look strong and in control.

Fish stays in control until they throw hands on the top. Fish drops off and Punk hits the elbow drop. Punk hits a series of forearms in the middle of the ring until Fish takes him down with another attack on Punk's leg. The story has become that Punk is trying for desperation moves and Fish is taking him down with the leg attacks,

Punk is able to get the GTS, but he used his bad leg, so he had to crawl over and cover right before Fish recovered. Punk is able to barely get the three count and the win.

Your winner: CM Punk

Again, Punk looked vulnerable and pulled out the win at the last second. Fish looked great in this match and it was a great story they told that made Fish look strong and Punk has a flaw in his game now.

We get a backstage promo from Malakai Black who says he was able to turn the Nightmare Family against Cody Rhodes and he is not finished with them now.

MJF w/Wardlow and Shawn Spears vs Bryce Donovan

Bryce is waiting in the ring when MJF arrives, and the graphic tells us it's his debut.

MJF hits two moves and covers with a single finger.

Your winner: MJF

MJF then disparages the women of Boston. Fan's mothers, Their accents. This segues to Darby Allin, and he says that Boston loves to cheer for losers. He then reminds us Darby said MJF couldn't break him mentally, but he's too scared to show up for work. The crowd gives their opinion of MJF and he goes on saying that with Darby out of his hair, he will go for the AEW World title after Full Gear.

It starts to snow in the arena and it's time for the Man Called Sting...except he doesn't come out and MJF says the crowd is stupid for believing Sting was coming out.

Then the lights go out. MJF tells S[pears, “Very funny” and Spears says he wasn't him. We then get a video of Darby that end with “No it's time to break you physically”, the lights come up and Sting is in the ring. MJF bails out of the ring and Darby is in the crowd. MJF takes off and leaves Spears and Wardlow to take the attack from Sting's back and Darby's thumbtack studded skateboard.

Darby then challenged MJF to fight at Full Gear.

Best sign so far: MJF Loves Nickleback. I love signs at wrestling events.

Tony is with Britt Baker with Rebel and Jamie Hayter and lets her know she is fighting Abadon on Rampage in a no DQ match. She says she will win. Rather boring promo saved by Jamie and Rebel goofing around behind Baker.

Sammy Guevara (TNT Champion) vs Ethan Page If Sammy loses, he loses the title and has to leave the Inner Circle, If Sammy wins, he picks the three America's Top Team Members in the five on five match between the Inner Circle and America's Top Team. That is a long stipulation, isn't it?

Sammy rushes the ring and works over Page in and out of the of it before the bell rings. Sammy eventually tosses Page into the ring so the ref can ring the ball. I like the fact that it's a FIGHT instead of “These two guys hate each other, so they will have a collar and elbow tie up”. They show Tony Nese again in the crowd, watching the show.

They are fighting without a let up neither man getting an advantage for any length of time. Page finally gets the upper hand as we go to picture in picture. Page spends the small screen tie taking Sammy apart slowly.

When we are back on the full screen, Sammy is struggling to get up. When Sammy is up, they trade forearms. Sammy starts mounting a comeback and hits the double springboard into a cutter. Sammy then hits a Spanish Fly for a two count. Page rolls out of the ring and Sammy slowly climbs to the top and hits a shooting star press on the floor.

When they return to the ring, Page gets a pair of slams into a two count and then Page goes to the top. Sammy cuts him off and Page tosses him to the mat for a two count. Page starts gloating and puts him on the top for an avalanche Ego's edge. Sammy reverses it into the Rana, misses a standing shootign star press, but still is able to grab Page's legs and flips over for a pin.

Your winner and still TNT champion: Sammy Guevara

Scorpio Sky runs down to attack, but the Inner Circle runs to the ring to drive them off.

Jericho grabs a mic, lets the Boston Choir finish singing Judas, and he says Scorpio beat him twice so he has Jericho's respect, but Page has...OK, it's a masturbation joke. Which the crowd chants. Jericho says there will be a five on five match at Full Gear. It's a Minneapolis street fight.

Wait. Is that a thing? I live here and I've not seen one. But, then again, I tend to not stay out that late.

Jericho then references Aerosmith for the rest of his promo.

Backstage, Tony is with Eddie Kingston and Bryan Danielson. Eddie talks about the hard work he does and when he done, he says he's done talking and listening. Bryan then says that's the Eddie Kingston he wants to see. Bryan then says Eddie works his ass off, and puts off how tough he is. Despite all of that, on Rampage, he's gonna prove he's the best.

GREAT promo from both men.

We then get a challenge from The Lucha Brothers to FTR in the back while Tony holds the mic.

Serena Deeb vs Hikaru Shida TBS Title Tournament match

Shida is extra aggressive when she starts, and Deeb is able to wrap his leg around the ring post to stop Shida. Shida pulls Deeb into the ring post and Shida break the count to drag Deeb into the ring the hard way with a suplex. Deeb is able to hit a chop black on Shida as they go to the small screen. Deb works over Shida's leg on the small screen, and they are both working stiff and fast. Every move is fast, snaps and looks brutal.

When they get the full screen again, Shida is just beating the hell out of the Deb with forearms. Shida hits a missile drop kick from the top and then a stalling suplex. Deeb barely kicks out. Shida keeps suplexing Deeb for near falls. Deeb blacks the spinning knee, and Deeb is finally abl eto nail Shida in the knee.

Deeb rolls awkwardly from the ring, and they brawl on the outside.

This is such a great match.

Deeb locks on a figure four around the ring post. Deeb ties a figure four in the middle of the ring, and Shida grabs her for a near fall. Shida hits a series of knees, and Deeb grabs the knee for a half crab and then locks on an inverted figure four. Shida makes it to the ropes. Deeb grabs Shida's 59 wins plaque and Shida knocks it out of her hands. Shida grabs it and threatens with it. Shida tosses it and Deeb gets the poke in the eyes and a near fall. Deeb tries for the detox but Shida reverses it and rolls up Deeb for the three count and the win.

Your winner, advancing in the tournament and getting her 50th win, Hikaru Shida

After the match, Deeb hits her with a chop black and goes after Shida's knee with a chair. She slams Shida's knee into the match and then gets the Serenity lock until the refs come to break it up. How will Shida be able to fight Nyla Rose in her next match.

In the back, Tony is with Dante Martin and Lio Rush. Mike Sydal is injured, so instead it's Dante Martin and Matt Sydal for the third time. Lio puts over Dante since he will be teaching Dante.

Jon Moxley vs 10 from the Dark Order is the AEW World Championship tournament

Mox starts hot with a suplex and stomping a mud hole in 10 in the corner. The match goes outside the ring and Mox tosses him into the ring steps. 10's mask is torn and Mox tosses him into the ring post. 10 is BUSTED OPEN. Geez.

10 gets a series of chops and a pump kick and Mox is able to regroup and pound 10, hit a paragdigm shift and a pin.

Your winner and advancing in the tournament: Jon Moxley

Tony is the back with FTR and asks if they accept the challenge. They accept and Tully says that FTR have hit the reset button and they have no idea what is coming for them.

The lights go out and it's time for the return of Cody's Elaborate Entrance.

He is met with a chorus of boos. He says he hears them. He says before he hit the Tiger Driver 98 on Malakai Black, he wondered if he would break the agreement between himself and the fans. He says to remember the man who signs the checks, but don't forget the man who built the bank. He asks the fans to put themselves in Cody's shoes.

Geez, this sounds like a heel explaining why he turned.

He says his wife is too hot for him, his brother is better than him, and his dad was a legend, so the easy way out is not the way, and he will not turn. The reason is because he loves the fans and has loved them his whole life. He apologizes for going Hollywood, to everyone in the Nightmare Family and to Arn Anderson.

Andrade comes out with a mic and says the people don't like him. They don't like him either, but he doesn't care about them. He mocks Cody's tattoo. He says Cody shouldn't have gotten into his business.

They are face to face ion the ring, Andrade says he can make Cody his little bitch and the lights go out.

When they come out, Malakai Black is there and hits the mist into Cody's face and they start to beat down the both of them. Pac runs to the ring and takes out Black and Andrade. Pac then sits crosslegged in the middle of the ring and flips off the both of them.

We get the card for Friday's Rampage and next week's Dynamite.

Dark Order (Colt Cabana, John Silver, Stu Grayson, and Evil Uno) vs The Elite (Young Bucks, Kenny Omega, and Adam Cole)

Dark Order in random costumes, and I like that Colt Cabana is dressed as Brandon Cutler. The Elite are all in Ghostbusters gear.

This will be pure shenanigans.

John Silver is, as he said he would be, Bambi. He gets a bunch of strong moves and then Evil Uno, the cowboy tags in. Kenny tags into the match wearing a proton pack. When Uno is taking his beating, Kenny mocks the Dark Order's hand gesture...and Uno recovers to ride Matt, and then the Dark Order nails Matt with the forever clotheslines and the cold spray.

Right before the commercial, they get a slam on all members of the Elite and hit the Dark Order pose. Oh, and Stu Grayson is Kraydos from the God of War games.

We go small screen for the Elite to get their comeback.

When we are back on the full screen, Stu fights his way to his corner. JR worked in the Stu “Don't call me Dick” Grayson Robin reference, which I always appreciate. Colt gets a moment in the spotlight to take out most of the Elite. Silver tags in and takes out the Elite as perpetual motion.

The Elite is able to get revenge on him and then Uno gets his “hand the leg to the ref” bit as everyone gets a moment in the sun. Matt Jackson nails the ref and that allows Matt to get a low blow on Stu. Then the rest of the Dark Order gets low blows from the Elite. They put on their proton packs and surround the Dark Order and then leap into them, hitting them with the backpacks. They pile up the backpacks and slam Colt onto them.

The rest of the Dark Order run to the ring. The horse is the only one who makes it into the ring and he gets hit with a low blow. They hit a BTE trigger and when they take the mask off, it's Brandon Cutler with his mouth taped shut.

Butt who is the Stay Puft Marshmallow man?

ADAM PAGE

He gets a Deadeye on Kenny Omega, John Silver hits a Spin Doctor on Kenny for the three count.

Your winners: The Dark Order

The Dark Order celebrate in the ring, the crowd loved the silliness of it all, fans who wanted a serious match and not happy, and Adam Page has a beer.
