AEW UPDATES ON MOXLEY, LANCE ARCHER, TONY NESE AND MORE

By Mike Johnson on 2021-10-24 19:25:00

Announced thus far for the 11/13 Full Gear PPV is AEW Champion Kenny Omega vs. Adam Page and AEW Women's Champion Dr. Britt Baker vs. Tay Conti, which will easily be the biggest match of Conti's career.

Tony Nese made his official in-ring debut for AEW at today's Dark taping in Orlando, Florida.

Lance Hoyt provided an update after crashing in a really scary moment while executing a moonsault during last night's Dynamite taping in Orlando, Florida:

Dustin Rhodes vs. Bryan Danielson is WELL worth going out of your way to watch as it was excellent on all fronts.  I just hope it's not the last time we see them face off.

Jon Moxley's autobiography Mox will be released on 11/2.  I read an advance copy of the book and it's an unflinching window into the stranger than fiction core of pro wrestling, an unfiltered journey through the muck and mud of not just an insane series of live experiences but the street smarts and will power needed to survive them.  The book covers everything from his earliest days in the business through WWE and AEW and even some really funny stories about his relationship with wife Renee Paquette.  The book is an unadulterated injection of pure Moxley, with all the piss and blood and sneering, cool confidence one usually expects from his matches. Honest, unrelenting and full of twisted wit, Mox is as transparent as any author could ever hope to be; it's obvious there's no ghostwriter here and this will be remembered as one of the best books about pro wrestling life for a long, long time.  Needless to say, I think it was a great read.

Official promotional material for the book notes:

A vivid trip through the mind of the top professional wrestler in the business—a nobody from nowhere who achieved his ambitions and walked away with the gold and the girl of his dreams.

Ride alongside Jon Moxley as he retraces some of the highways traveled on his remarkable journey. Revel in the never-before-told stories about his early life in Cincinnati, Ohio; the gritty independent wrestling scene where he cut his teeth; the complicated corporate landscape of the WWE where he bucked against authority; and the rebellious upstart AEW, where he won the championship in 2020 and was finally free to achieve the vision of the wrestler he’d always wanted to be.

With plenty of pitstops and revelatory insights, including grisly ultraviolent encounters, crazy characters who became lifelong friends, and his unforgettable matches in Japan, MOX is the riveting account of the life of a brawler. It is a tale written in blood and soaked in debauchery, with a good dose of wisdom accumulated along the way.

More than a backstage pass into the arena, MOX is a ticket into the ring. Once inside, you’ll never look at pro wrestling the same again.
