Kazuchika Okada made his entrance with the IWGP Heavyweight Championship, so it seems his request to New Japan chairman Naoki Sugabayashi to hold the retired title instead of receiving an IWGP World Heavyweight Championship challenge rights certificate as his reward for winning the G1 Climax has been granted. However, he is still scheduled to defend the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship challenge rights certificate (which, again, Okada either does not have or simply does not want) against Tama Tonga at Power Struggle on November 6 in the EDION Arena Osaka.

Keisuke Okuda suffered a knee injury at yesterday’s eighth The Gate of Victory 2021 tour show and was not able to compete on today’s shows. He was replaced by the debuting trainee Takumi Hayakawa.
Ryukyu Dragon Pro-Wrestling’s Gurukun Mask and Shuri Joe made a surprise appearance on the afternoon show to challenge Kaito Ishida. The challenge was accepted, the surprise guests faced Ishida and SB KENTo on the evening show.
