By Adam Cardona on 2021-10-22 15:50:00

ACTION Wrestling “Founders Day Festival 2021”

10/1/21 - Tyrone, GA

Now available on IWTV.live

One week after the action-packed “Acting Accordingly”, Action’s high-paced month of shows continues at Tyrone’s Founders Day Celebration in the park! Action’s updated pre-show video package keeps on being a great presentation highlight to kick off the show. Brian Stevenson is your announcer. Dylan Hales & Jumpin’ Johnny Mosely are at the commentary…..booth? Table? Golf cart? It’s in the park so who knows. Ah, it IS a table at ringside. Let’s goooooo!

Match 1: AC Mack, Cabana Man Dan & Rico Gonzalez vs Adam Priest, Jay Lucas & Shoota Gabe

Interesting combos in this 6-man. Glad to see some folks from Next Up getting their shot on the ACTION main stage. AC Mack intros the team, saying that he demanded this main event level match go first. Lucas starts the match but Priest blind tags in against CMD. Mack begs for the tag and the team captains circle until Priest tags Lucas back in to avoid his comeuppance. Lucas tries to out talk Mack and gets clubbed for that. Lucas gets stretched by CMD into a pin attempt. Gabe in and shoulder blocks CMD down but comes running into a hip toss and body slam. Priest takes a cheap shot to break the pin. Rico in to show his stuff. Moonsault slingshot elbow for two. Gabe back in and running into arm drags and dropkicks. Priest kicks out the back of Rico and holds the legs so Gabe can get a lariat to the back of the head. Priest in to pick the bones and direct his team to give the beatdown to Rico. Lucas with a good flying clothesline into a stacked pin attempt. Priest mauls Rico, stomping and twisting at the face and leg, while his experienced partners are begging for the tag in. He flips out of a back drop, CMD with the tag! Priest dropped on his butt and mule kicked in the face. CMD tries for Surf’s Up but Lucas interferes and Priest blasts a lariat with his loaded surgically repaired arm. Priest holds CMD but Shoota Gabe accidentally superkicks his own partner. Priest is maaaaaad and dumps Gabe on the back of his head. Priest is out of there as Mack gets in and hits the Mack 10 for the pin on Gabe. This was a lot of Rico, Lucas and Gabe getting a chance to be featured. It was important that Mack and Priest not touch here. Good high energy opener.

Match 2: Noah Hossman vs Vinny Pacifico

Hossman is getting all the boos tonight, coming out looking like Ogre from Revenge of the Nerds (sorry if I just dated myself). We’re told his wrestling headgear has been ruled LEGAL (even if he does sometimes use it for evil). Pacifico is making his ACTION debut tonight. Hossman tosses Vinny down, overpowering him several times and yelling at him from across the ring. They stall at a shoulder block and Hossman mocks him. Pacifico with a few chops and Hossman loves it. Head scissor takedown and a quick pin attempt from Pacifico. Sunset flip? Hossman pulls him up into a belly to belly overhead toss. Vinny’s getting choked on the second rope before a big vertical suplex for two. Hossman mocks Vinny for being from New York before hitting a corner cannonball for two. Hossman misses a second cannonball, Pacifico is firing up, hitting running uppercuts and a german suplex for a close pin. Pacifico off the top with a crossbody but Hossman catches him, slams and hits a gutwrench sitout powerbomb for the three count. Hossman ran Pacifico over tonight and the crowd hates him for that. Good work.

Winner: Noah Hossman

Match 3: Suge D vs Ashton Starr

Suge talking trash to children brings me great joy. Starr has the crowd behind him obviously and that INSTANTLY gets in Suge’s head. Starr gets the wrist in the lockup but Suge transitions to an ankle lock. Starr shakes that off and escapes a headlock with a celebration. Suge gets the wrist and bridges Starr back…Ashton reverses into a headlock but Suge pulls the hair to get it back. Starr returns fire and pulls on Suge’s beard. Suge with head and body shots but runs into a head scissor and dropkick. Suge takes a sit in the crowd and has a pile of booing children all around him. Suge and Ashton have a quick word at the apron before Starr slingshots him into the center. Starr is confident and D just forearms him in the back of the head. Elbows to the head. Knees to the back. Uppercut to the head and Starr is out at two. Suge steps on the hair and beats on Starr. Snap suplex. Kick out! Suge keeps trying for the pin but Ashton keeps kicking out. Suge catches Starr running, hitting a lariat and DDT for a near fall. Suge wraps up the chin but the crowd is still in his head. He drops his body weight on Starr’s back a couple of times but Starr flips and ACCIDENTALLY low blows Suge when he comes down for the third. Starr gets back up to his feet and clotheslines a staggered Suge. X factor to Suge! Kick out! Starr misses the scissor kick, Suge hits a popup knee to the face. Starr returns with his own knee. Starr tries a sunset flip but Suge falls forward into the ropes and the ref counts the pinfall. Suge storms around the ring asking the crowd “WHO WON?” Loved the crowd work here in between bouts of action.

Winner: Suge D

Match 4: Jose Manuel vs Zamir Zuriel vs King Garuda vs Kavron Kanyon vs Carson Dilbeck vs Takuri vs Blak Jak Mack vs Teriyaki

This is gonna be a wild scramble featuring a lot of Next Up’s finest faces. Chaos at the bell. Takuri and Kanyon start scrapping in the center. Jose sends Takuri out and ZZ replaces him. Garuda helps out his tag partner and hits a stunner and cutter. Mak in to dive out to the humans on the ground. Kavron looks like he wants a dive but throws Teriyaki out at them first. Dilbeck joins the dive party. Suplex neckbreaker to Mak. Teriyaki hits Dilbeck with a ddt. Jose trips Teriyaki and kicks the back of the head for two. Garuda traps a fisherman’s suplex on Jose. ZZ bulldogs Garuda out of there. Mak thinks he has the ambush on ZZ but Takuri slams them together. Takuri with a double frog splash but Kanyon tosses him. Teriyaki off the top, Kavron catches him and powerbombs him for the pin. Fast paced high energy chaos. Crowd ate this up.

Winner: Kavron Kanyon

Match 5: The Skulk (Adrian Alanis & Liam Gray)(c) vs Suplex Science (Alex Kane & Damyan Tangra) (for the ACTION tag team championship)

A rematch of the final two teams in Action’s tag team triple threat. The Skulk keep the heat on the ringside kids, demanding to know where their parents are. Suplex Science makes the kids feel better, showing off their cool new team shirts. The champs weren’t aware this is a title match??? Tangra pulls Liam into a rear naked choke early, Liam rolls it up for a close call. Tangra with an armbar but too close to the rope. Kane wants a piece of Alanis and gives those suplex rides out for free. Gray pulls Alanis out of danger but hotshots Kane in the process. Skulk with a legdrop senton combo and the Suplex Assassin is on wobbles. Liam keeps the heat on, hitting a cross body into the corner. He tries another but Kane catches and spins him out into a uranage. Tangra in, butterfly suplexes Alanis for two. Grey with the interference again and Tangra pays the price. Tangra throw into a backbreaker/dropkick combo for two. Tangra escapes a cobra clutch, knocks Alanis off the apron, makes the crawl. Liam intercepts but Tangra hits a gut buster….his own knee paid the price here. Kane makes the tag and Suplex Science runs wild on Liam. Big overhead toss! DVD! Alanis in to fight them off but each a big boot from Tangra. Grey staggers Tangra with a knee and he falls the outside battling with Alanis. Kane and Grey work to keep their opponents out of the ring but the ref is counting Alanis and Tangra out, as they are the legal men in the match. A frustrated Kane hurls Liam out of the ring and tries to get Tangra back to his feet but it’s too late. Great chemistry between these teams, this is definitely getting run back a few times.

Winner: Double Count Out

Match 6: Air BnB (Bobby Flaco & Brogan Finlay) vs Jimmy Wang Yang & Jazzy Yang

The Skulk hangs out by ringside with Jay Lucas to show off their championship belts and talk smack to the team they beat last month for the belts. The father/daughter tag team look through the champs and focus on their debut. Wait what….Bobby seems to be on the same page as the Skulk, as the WW4A talents are helping to coach Bobby into his first exchange with Jimmy. This is too much for Bobby to handle and Jimmy tags out. Jazzy quickly controls Flaco and forces him to the rope. Flaco takes the next exchange with a shoulder tackle and celebrates REALLY HARD. Jazzy arm drags him to the point he wants a time out. Flaco fakes out a handshake and gut kicks. Brogan is finally in after spending several minutes hip thrusting at the crowd. Jimmy tags in. Head scissor takedown, step up kick to the back of the head! Brogan eats 10 punches in the corner. Flaco runs interference and Brogan hits a blatant low blow. Brogan with a big suplex for two. Flaco in and throwing axehandles. Jimmy which a couple of fast gut chops. Evasions back and forth until Flaco hits a crossbody for two. Brogan in and comes off the corner but eats a dropkick. Jimmy makes the tag! Big shots to Flaco, who drops to a spin kick. Brogan tries to maul her. Jimmy in but he eats a spike variation on a 3D. Air BnB working over Jazzy. Brogan tries a crossbody on the rope but Jazzy moves and he crashes and burns on the outside. Jazzy hits a cutter to Flaco and he’s down for the three! This was fun but it was SUPER weird for me to see Air BnB aligned with the Skulk for any reason.

Winner: Jimmy & Jazzy Yang

It’s time for Angelus Layne to show up and find out who her Matt Griffin-selected mystery opponent is going to be. Matt says that he promised to bring back someone that he didn’t want to have to bring back. He says the person making their entrance is gonna kick her a** and Angelus directs her attention to the entryway while Griffin quickly tapes up his wrists. The CEO is sick of her constant interference in his shows and the mystery opponent is…..HIM. Matt’s putting his working boots back on for a night!

Match 7: Matt Griffin vs Angelus Layne

Griffin decks Layne as she turns back around, sends her to the corner and back elbows her out of the ring. Matt and Layne trading shots on the outside. Angelus walking him down until CEO introduces her to the POST. Griffin blasts her in the back with the ring bell but Angelus wakes up and chops Matt. He returns fire, has a fan hold her back and lands another. Angelus throws dirt in his face and slams Griffin to the apron. Angelus chases him back into the ring but runs into a swinging neckbreaker that didn’t go quite to plan. Angelus rolls out to nurse her previous broken neck as Matt comes off the top to the outside and drags her back in. Layne crawls to the corner but she baits him into falling into the buckles and hits a double knee. Angelus drops the knee pad, she comes in running, Matt catches her leg before he gets KO’d. Big body slam! Matt to the top! Suge D & Kevin Ryan run in and toss him off the top. The ref calls for the bell as Angelus strangles Griffin in the center. Suge sets up Griffin for a Ryan dropkick to the back of the head. Ashton Starr runs in to make the save and get Suge out of there. Alex Zayne runs in and throws Angelus out of the ring and our main event is on! I liked the setup to the brawl they had here. One spot elicited a YIKES from me but the rest was a good quick bit of really stiff fighting around the ring before Layne’s friends could come spoil the party. They beat the hell out of each other and I suspect Matt Griffin isn’t quite done with Angelus but she won’t turn her back on him like that again.

Winner: Matt Griffin (by DQ)

Main Event: “Braindead” Kevin Ryan vs Alex Zayne

Zayne comes in at the bell but Ryan powders right out. Zayne launches himself out of the ring to stop that. Zayne flying all over and wipes out Ryan with a kick. Ryan catches him with a head scissor on a whip. Ryan misses a lionsault and Zayne with a running corkscrew moonsault. Zayne stuns him with a kick and sets up the Crunchwrap Supreme but Ryan pulls at the ref for safety and hits a hangman’s neckbreaker off the top. Flying forearm from Zayne and we see Suge D has made his way back to ringside. Zayne with the Crunchwrap setup again and Suge grabs the leg. Suge stomps him out at ringside while the ref is busy. Suge hops on commentary to cheer on his boy, who is busy wrapping Zayne’s knees around the post. Zayne with a crucifix reversal but Suge clearly has his attention and Ryan uses that to grab a single crab. RYan transitions to a leg lock but Zayne gets to the rope. Zayne with a pele kick but his legs are shot. Trading chops and slaps. Zayne with a step up knee. Kevin with a superkick, rebound into a dropkick and they’re both down. Back to their feet, trading shot, a lariat turns Ryan inside out. Zayne with a flip into the corner and rana’s Ryan off the buckles. Zayne drags him to the top but Ryan hits a spanish fly for two! Zayne slips out of a slam, tries a cobra clutch but Ryan rolls him up. The ref catches his rollup with his legs up on the ropes. Ryan is in the ref’s face but back kicks Zayne right in the junk. Suge throws in a chair and keeps the ref busy. Ryan sets up Zayne for a double knees with the chair. Zayne dodges! Ryan is stunned. Zayne to the top and hits the Crunchwrap supreme, the flip double knees to the back for the pin! This was a lot of fun to close the show and the crowd got to see Suge D be upset at the end of the night.

Winner: Alex Zayne
