New Japan Pro Wrestling held its seventeenth G1 Climax 31 show today in the Yokohama Budokan.

The full results were:

• A block: Shingo Takagi vs. Yujiro Takahashi – Double Countout
• A block: Tanga Loa def. Zack Sabre Jr.
• A block: Kota Ibushi def. KENTA

Following today’s results, the final A block standings are:

1. Kota Ibushi (7-2 record): 14 points
2. Shingo Takagi (6-2-1 record): 13 points
3. KENTA (6-3 record): 12 points
4. Zack Sabre Jr. (6-3 record): 12 points
5. Toru Yano (5-4 record): 10 points

All Japan Pro Wrestling

All Japan Pro Wrestling held a press conference today to announce Zeus will leave the company after December 31.

Zeus is leaving to focus on running Osaka Pro Wrestling, which he became the owner of on August 26.

Zeus said it has been his dream to manage Osaka Pro since 2014. In the spring of this year, he started to start preparing for his goal of reviving Osaka Pro next year.

Zeus expressed his gratitude to All Japan, saying he believes he fought in the best era of All Japan alongside the likes of Joe Doering, Jun Akiyama, Kento Miyahara, Shuji Ishikawa, SUWAMA, Takao Omori and others.

All Japan and Osaka Pro have agreed to build a friendly relationship and Zeus will continue to compete in All Japan whenever possible.

Losing Zeus, the leader of Purple Haze, is a significant blow for All Japan. Even approaching 40 years old, he is still one of the absolute best wrestlers in the company.

Among his accolades, he won the Champion Carnival in 2020, the Triple Crown Heavyweight Championship once and the World Tag Team Championships five times.

All Japan has also announced the full cards for its shows on October 22 in Kawasaki and October 31 in Korakuen Hall.

Takuya Nomura made his first successful defense of the BJW World Strong Heavyweight Championship against Daisuke Sekimoto. He was challenged by Yuya Aoki afterwards.

The bout, which will be Nomura’s second defense of the title, will take place at Big Japan’s show on November 16 in Korakuen Hall.

Yuko Miyamoto made his second successful defense of the BJW Deathmatch Heavyweight Championship against Hideyoshi Kamitani in the main event.

Big Japan has announced two new titles matches for its show on October 25 in Shin-Kiba 1st Ring.

First, Daichi Hashimoto and Kamitani will attempt their first defense of the BJW Tag Team Championships against Sekimoto and Yuji Okabayashi. Second, Drew Parker will attempt his third defense of Game Changer Wrestling’s GCW Ultra Violent Championship against Masashi Takeda in the main event.

Big Japan has also announced Akira Hyodo will face Pro Wrestling ZERO1’s Masato Tanaka at its show on December 12 in Korakuen Hall.

Dragon Gate

Dragon Gate has announced Funky Jacky Kamei will compete as Jacky Funky Kamei moving forward.

Dragon Gate has also announced the full cards for its The Gate of Victory 2021 tour shows on October 23 in Orocity Hall, October 24 in Acros Fukuoka and October 27 in Nanao J?yama Gymnasium.

Pro Wrestling ZERO1

In a statement released on Pro Wrestling ZERO1’s website, Fuminori Abe announced he will attempt his second defense of the ZERO1 International Junior Heavyweight Championship and ZERO1 World Junior Heavyweight Championship against Takumi Baba.

Abe said he has a responsibility to remain champion until Shinjiro Otani remains from injury.

Otani was originally scheduled to challenge Abe for the titles at ZERO1’s show on September 18 in Korakuen Hall, but he fractured both bones in his left forearm and underwent surgery. Abe instead made his first successful defense of the titles against Yumehito Imanari at the show.

Abe did not specify when he will defend the titles against Baba.
