AWESOME KONG BEING ENSHRINED INTO IMPACT HALL OF FAME, BIG WIN FOR MERCEDES MARTINEZ, IMPACT ON AXS BROADCAST SCHEDULE AND MORE

By Mike Johnson on 2021-10-11 10:30:00

Mercedes Martinez earned a future Impact Wrestling Knockouts title shot over the weekend, winning the Knockouts Knockdown PPV tournament.  It was noted on commentary that the title shot won't take place until after Bound for Glory, leaving the Mickie James vs. Deonna Purrazzo title bout on 10/23 locked in stone from a storyline perspective.

Savannah Evans paid tribute to Daffney after her Monster's Ball win at the PPV over the weekend:

As announced over the weekend, Awesome Kong will be officially inducted into the Impact Wrestling Hall of Fame at Bound for Glory, becoming the second woman (after Gail Kim) and the tenth person total to be inducted:

As an aside and not to take away from Kong's EXTREMELY deserving honor, but it would be really nice if Impact would either induct Bob Ryder or create an award in his honor going forward.  Not a lot of people are aware of this, but there had been plans to surprise Ryder with an induction at some point well before his passing but the promotion never got the opportunity to have that moment.  I'd really like to see the company do that at some point if possible, even if its not next weekend.

Tickets will go on sale this Friday 10/15 at Ticketmaster.com for Impact Wrestling's Turning Point 2021 PPV, which will air live on Saturday 11/20 on Impact+FITE.TV and for their YouTube Ultimate Insiders subscribers from Sam's Town Casino in Las Vegas.   They will also be taping TV on 11/3 and 11/4.

Impact is now selling a third series of their trading cards at this link.

Referee Yali Sapphire, who worked the Knockouts Knockdown PPV over the weekend, tweeted the following:

A number of Impact stars will be working for Michigan's Ultimate Championship Wrestling on 10/16 in Saginaw.  The event features Rosemary vs. John E. Bravo in a First Blood match as well as Rohit Raju appearing.  Raju is heading up the promotion's training academy The Dragon's Lair in Michigan.
