KEVIN MATTHEWS RETURNS TO RING AFTER BIOXCELLERATOR STEM CELL THERAPY TREATMENT IN COLOMBIA

By Mike Johnson on 2021-10-08 12:04:00

Former Impact Wrestling and WWE developmental star Kevin Matthews, who now promotes WrestlePro in Alaska, New Jersey and several other States, officially returned to the ring for the first time in several years on this past Monday's episode of AEW Dark - Elevation, facing Sonny Kiss.

The match was Matthews' first after traveling to Colombia undergo BioXcellerator's stem cell therapy.  Over the last several years, BioXcellerator has become a premiere option for professional athletes using the therapy in order to heal physically and advance not just their professional exploits but also their quality of life.  Among those who have undergone the treatment including Rey Mysterio, Kurt Angle, Edge, Brian Cage, Bobby Lashley, John Morrison, Kevin Nash, Diamond Dallas Rage, Rob Van Dam, Santino Marella, Ken Shamrock as well as MMA fighters including Matt Hughes, Gilbert Melendez, Henry Cejudo, Chael Sonnen and many, many others.

In speaking to PWInsider.com, Matthews commented, "Almost two years ago, on December 7th, 2019 almost 2 years ago I had my last pro wrestling match in Alaska. I never retired or claimed to but rather needed to step away from the ring to heal long-time Injuries as well as new ones.  My body was starting to shut down and it was becoming difficult to do normal daily things, let alone compete in the ring. In July, I finally made the trip to BioXcellerator in Colombia where I received 210 million stem cells in my shoulders, elbows, hands, knees and ankle as well as IV throughout my body. On my IV bag they make you write a note to yourself on what you hope to gain out of the treatment. I wrote, 'Health, Pain Free & Return to the ring.'  Three months after my treatment, that became a reality as I had my return match on 10/4/21 for AEW in Rochester, NY."

Before going to Colombia, Matthews was told by doctors here in the United States that he needed a knee replacement and had severe damage to his labrum in both his left and right shoulders.

BioXcellerator's website explains the science behind the therapy - "Regenerative medicine is a vanguard branch of medicine, which emerges through interdisciplinary research integrating various areas such as: cell biology, tissue engineering, gene therapy, cell therapy, cell immunotherapy, 3D bioprinting, therapy with exosomes, among others, according to the International Society for Stem Cell Research (ISSCR, for its acronym in English).  Regenerative medicine is based on the repair, replacement or regeneration of cells, tissues and / or organs by stimulating and enhancing the self-healing capabilities of the human body. Its fundamental principle is to restore the functionality of the tissues.  BioXcellerator Colombia, is a pioneer institution in the application of cellular therapies that meets the highest standards of quality, human resources, commitment and cutting-edge technologies under the medical direction of Dr. Karolynn Halpert."

In treating sports injuries, their website breaks down the process:

The therapy using bioXgel involves isolating the platelet-rich plasma (PRP) from a patient’s blood and inserting it back into the area that is going to be treated to encourage the body to heal itself. bioXgel not only encourages your body to heal itself, but it can also speed up the healing process.

During this procedure, a small amount of blood is extracted from the patient. The laboratory then isolates the plasma using a centrifuge. After isolating it, the doctor will insert the plasma back into the patient using an injection. For some areas, the doctor may use an imaging machine to guide the injection into the correct area.

The plasma causes temporary inflammation in the area, which signals the body’s natural healing system to act on the injury and correct the issue. During this process, the body will heal the underlying issue.

This therapy can be used to treat a variety of musculoskeletal issues. bioXgel has been effective in treating injuries such as broken or fractured bones, ligament and tendon issues, and muscle injuries.

Our product, bioXgel can also be used to heal the body after surgery or injury. Because of its ability to heal the body at a faster speed, this therapy is a popular treatment method in sports medicine.
