Beyond Wrestling “Masha Slamovich’s Borscht at the Beach”
Taped on 9/17/21 in Westerly, RI
Now available on IWTV.live
Worcester had a rough turn of weather events in August leading to the cancellation of both WWR+ and Beyond shows. For the return to Paddy’s Beach Club (their previous show there was one of my favorite in memory) in Westerly RI, Denver Colorado (the man, not the place) has attempted to rebook many of the matches left on the table when “Say You’ll Be There” & “Americanrana 21” were cancelled. This is the second half of that day of shows. The sun is shining and the beach is loaded with the Beyond faithful. Rich Palladino is your announcer. Paul Crockett & Sidney Bakabella are your commentators for some fun in the sun! Show Namesake Masha Slamovich is out here with a bucket of borscht for the sharing….and will be kicking her own show off against Allie Katch!
Match 1: Masha Slamovich vs Allie Katch
Masha pours a cup of borscht for Allie to try. She spits it all over Slamovich and Masha charges in. Masha with the chop flurry and the crowd is firing up. Drop toe hold into the ropes, Allie knocked back into a big lariat for two. Masha is none too happy about the disrespect Allie showed the borscht. Allie throws Masha over to the mat and hits a boot to the side of the head for two. The fight spills to the outside and they start battering each other on the barricades and tables at ringside as they battle closer to the water. There’s a FANTASTIC camera shot coming from a drone high above the venue. This is a super cool touch for the production. Allie Katch with a knee to the face and hitting a running rolling DVD into the ocean. Masha with a slam in return and gets a two count. This is Falls Count Anywhere? They stumble out of the water and swing exhaustedly at each other as they stagger back to the ring. Masha with a guillotine off the second and a spinning back kick. Masha piledrives Allie onto a wooden platform at ringside and Katch stays down for the three. “She’s the borscht!” Chants the crowd! Masha gives Allie the borscht again and Katch drinks it with a thumbs up. Wild chaotic opener that really gave a sense of the venue. Allie was a great last minute replacement for Wheeler Yuta, who probably is thankful he didn’t get piledriven into a wooden platform on THIS day. I suspect Masha will have that on her to-do list for the future though.
Winner: Masha Slamovich
Match 2: A Very Good Lehigh Valley Wrestling Trio (A Very Good Professional Wrestler, Big Dan Champion & Lucky) 13 vs RALY (Richard Holliday, Logan Easton Laroux & Alexander James)
RALY is without their leader, IWTV Champion Wheeler Yuta. Sidney Bakabella is highly biased for AVGLVWT. Holliday takes out the air pods and locks up with AVGPW as the crowd chants “THE BEST THE BEST THE BEST THE BEST”. Holliday tries to work him down but gets arm dragged and gets stretched out before a close two. Richard’s frustrated and gets Logan in there for some double teaming….which AVGPW quickly escapes and takes control of Laroux. Big Dan tags in and just shoves Logan down. Logan tries a throat chop but gets slammed about for his trouble. Lucky is in for a battle with James, keeping him off balance with some lucha arm drags and a superkick. He tries to come off the top but Holliday shakes the ropes and Lucky crashes and burns. RALY gives 13 the heat through several tags. Logan misses a charge and Lucky flips out of trouble, hits a knee and gets AVGPW in there to clean house. Suicide dive to the sand! Big Dan with a crossbody off the apron and then chugs a fishbowl drink (like a champion does). Logan gets murdered by the opposing trio but Holliday and James run interference on the outside. Holliday pulls the leg on a AVGPW suplex and Logan falls into the pin like Rick Rude vs Warrior at WM5 to steal the win for RALY. This was a lot of fun. And yeah, they won through dirty means but it’s good that RALY was able to get a W without the help of their leader.
Winners: RALY
Match 3: “Weapon X” Matt Makowski vs Rhett Titus
What a contest this should be! They have an aggressive ground battle right at the bell, trading holds and positions into a stalemate. Rhett has a small cut over his eye early in these scrambles. Titus drags Makowski down and wrenches at the shoulder. Makowski reverses into the headlock. Standing switch and Titus blasts Matt with a back elbow before running into a stiff chest kick. Snap suplex into the arm lock but Titus pushes off into the corner and landing some shoulder tackles to get space. Battle to the apron, Makowski catches a charging Rhett and falls into a rear naked choke. Rhett stays calm and breaks the hold off the corner, hits a belly to belly for two. Makowski with a bully choke and Rhett looks close to out…but gets his legs to the rope. Makowski firing up with suplexes. Big double underhook toss and crumbles Rhett with a knee. Rhett escapes a piledriver into a series of pin attempts. Makowski with kick and a huge falling powerbomb for a near fall! Matt escapes a rollup into an arm bar. Titus fights out but falls into a rings of saturn. Rollup by Titus and he’s out of trouble. A pair of huge Yakuza kicks and Makowski kicks out! Titus kicked off a crab. Showtime kick off the buckle! Makowski with a gutwrench transition into the arm bar and Titus immediately taps out. Great match! What a run Makowski is having in Beyond right now but Rhett Titus has been having banger after banger these past few months of appearances.
Winner: Matt Makowski
Match 4: “Smart” Mark Sterling vs Ted Goodz
Will Sterling be bringing another one of his clients (like Goodz’ original Americanrana opponent Matt Cardona) or is he actually going to fight this battle himself? Sterling says he will fight this match himself…under Smart Mark rules! There are apparently 637 of them and Sidney Bakabella is going to help the referee officiate and keep the match on the rails. Bakabella threatens to read all the rules. What re some of the rules? No superkicks. No over the top rope. No coming off the top rope. Ted is done with this and he quickly double legs Sterling and taps him to a sharpshooter. Bakabella lets him know that another rule is “no sharpshooters”. Also, no body slams. And 3 seconds between every corner punch. Bakabella is amazing right now and Goodz is doing what he can to continue his beat down of Sterling within the rules. Teddy tries to come off the top WHICH IS A VIOLATION. Sterling uses the distraction to choke out Goodz with wrist tape, both. Legal in and of itself and also on Sunday, apparently. No rope breaks. Eye rakes are okay too. Sterling hits a superkick and throws Goodz over the top. The ref may have forgotten those rules and Bakabella isn’t pointing out the infraction. Apparently, Sterling rules is also a 3 count on the outside. Teddy beats the count to hit a crossbody off the second. Punch to the face and a leg lariat from Goodz for a close two! Backpack stunner into a boston crab. Sterling gets the rope….but his rules finally backfire and he passes out in the hold. Bakabella cites another Sterling rule -> “If a competitor passes out, they win automatically.” What? This was so very very dumb….annnnnd I loved it. The crowd is chanting “Teddy Won!” But as Paul Crockett points out, the record books WILL show otherwise….because Sterling Rules.
Winner: Smart? Mark? Sterling?
Match 5: “The Prize” Alec Price vs “Dirty Daddy” Chris Dickinson
Price has such a test ahead of him today. Price is a wild man but Dickinson is able to drag him into an arm bar. That doesn’t faze the Prize, who says Dickinson is the past. A big chop and a shotgun dropkick from Chris cuts the kid in half. Dirty Daddy is chopping him up, big takeover into a pin attempt and an arm bar. Price pulled into a single crab and he has to scramble to the ropes….to get chopped up some more. Dickinson with some murderous kicks to the chest and head and this is a mugging right now. Dickinson tries the Pazuzu bomb but Price head scissors out. Big kicks to the head and a leg lariat off the corner! Dickinson eating knee drops and wild forearms from a frantic Alec Price. Dickinson fighting from the bottom but Price keeps coming, exuding maximum effort. He tries to come off the top but Dickinson flies up there and tosses the Prize off the corner. Big trio of clotheslines from daddy into a Falcon Arrow…kick out! Dickinson coming in for the kill but Becca is out here to distract. Ref caught in the collision and he’s down. Dickinson is confused but gets Price into a STF and he taps out. Dickinson tries to revive the ref but Becca throws sand in his eyes! Price with the rollup! The ref counts three! What an upset! Price took an ungodly amount of Dickinson’s shots here. How Becca wound up in this mix, we shall see eventually. Price has claimed one hell of a trophy in his win column today.
Winner: Alec Price
Match 6: Club Cam (Aaron Rourke, Bryce Donovan & Bobby Orlando w/ Cam Zagami) vs SLADE & Bear Country (Bear Bronson & Bear Boulder)
Cam is in full sailboat captain’s garb today. I suppose that works for the beach club VIP section. SLADE and the Bears attack right away, laying out their opposition immediately, Cam included as they battle in the sand around the ring. Donovan manages to ram SLADE into the post. Rourke with a somersault to the sand and the ride of battle is turning. SLADE tossed over the buckles to the sand. “I’m the captain now” says Cam as he surveys the carnage in the ring. Bear Boulder gives him a press slam to his minions. Shook Crew manages to take the ring back, hitting double DDT to the man from Rikers. Club Cam keeps the bears at bay as they focus on wearing down SLADE. Bronson with a senton to break up a figure four! Boulder powerbombing Orlando, catches Cam and bombs them both! Boulder has the hat. He’s the captain now. Vader Bomb? Club Cam swarms and Shook Crew hits an impressive Doomsday Device on Boulder!!! Rourke with a 450! Triple cover! Kick out! SLADE in like fire! Bronson eats a spear from Rourke. Rourke wants a moonsault, SLADE cuts it off. Bears throwing everyone in the corner and ram them all with a backpack cannonball. Ded. Orlando limp in the center, the bears want the elevator drop. Cam holds their foot and Orlando escapes. Rourke and Donovan rake the eyes, double superkick! On the outside, SLADE kills Cam and Orlando and brings a big board out to throw on Cam. He sets up the board on chairs but Orlando saves Cam from going through it. Orlando climbing up onto a lifeguard station….SLADE catches him up there and throws Orlando off through the board and chairs. Rourke and Donovan invite SLADE back into the ring. Donovan thrown out immediately buy Rourke shoves SLADE into a chair shot to the face from Donovan and they stack the pin for the win! This was chaos but fun. Looks like today is a good day to be a heel, especially as a faction.
Winners: Club Cam

Main Event: Killer Kelly vs “Legit” Leyla Hirsch
Killer Kelly makes her debut against the returning Leyla Hirsch. This is a really hype main event. Killer Kelly comes in with the lockup, Leyla pushes her off but Kelly doesn’t fall into the trap. Leyla caught in the headlock, gets out and lands a big dropkick. Spills to the outside, Leyla diving out into the sand. Kelly gets away but Leyla comes off the lifeguard stand with a crossbody! Back in the ring, Leyla working the arm through multiple transitions, clubbing and kicking at the limb. Kelly catches her arms and headbutts. double underhook suplex to the corner. Running dropkick to the corner! Kick out! Penalty kick! Kick out! Kelly tries another but Leyla picks the leg and germans her. Leyla tries a moonsault but Kelly intercepts and hits a fishman’s buster from there! Two count! Slugging their way to their feet! Big lariat from Hirsch. To the top….Moonsault! Kelly is out and works to a rear naked choke. DVD! Hirsch gets the rope. Kelly tries the choke again, Leyla is out! She hit a running knee and locks in an armbar to tap out Killer Kelly! Great back and forth here, these two closed the day out with a damn fight.
Winner: Leyla Hirsch
Kelly initially shakes the hand but she tackles Leyla and swarms with punches. RALY is out here to back up Killer Kelly! Did she join them? Are they….KRALY? Masha and Makowski are out here to run them off. It’s turning into a huge brawl as Masha and Kelly scramble with each other. Makowski and Alexander James face to face but they separate Masha and Kelly as it looks like RALY has a new friend and this feud is gonna continue!
