COMPLETE AEW DYNAMITE IN ROCHESTER BLOG

By Cory Strode on 2021-09-29 20:30:00

It's Wednesday, and we're in the Blue Cross Arena in Rochester New York and it's time for AEW Dynamite. Our commentary team is Jim Ross, Excalibur, and Tony Schiavone. It has been announced that tonight's show is a tribute to Brodie Lee. As we start, CM Punk comes out and joins the commentary team.

Jungle Boy vs Adam Cole

Both men come out alone, and the crowed is red hot, singing along with both men's entrance theme. The match starts with mat wrestling, and the story of this match is that JB is trying to attack with his high flying and speed, and Cole keeps slowing him down and grounding him.

“I don't want to be biased, but I hate Adam Cole,” Tony Schiavone.

The crowd is loving the match, chanting for whoever has the edge, and they keep things fairly even. As we go into the near falls, each one takes time to trash talk to the other while waiting for them to recover.

Punk says that he has made sure he won't be attacked this week by taking out a Lloyd's of London policy and himself and the table, and JR says “I know that scam.”

JB is able to kick out of a Panama Sunrise and dodges the knee to the back of the head and locks Cole in the snare trap. When Cole gets too close to the ropes, JB drags him back and Cole kicks him out fo the ring. When he gets back in, Cole is able to drop him, and then hit the knee to the back of the head to cover for the three.

Your winner: Adam Cole.

The entire Elite come out as we go to commercial.

When we come back, the Elite have the ring, and The Good Brothers take time to introduce everyone and why they are Elite. After introducing almost everyone they then say “Oh, and Cutler and Nakazawa.” They give the mic to Nakazawa fort the best promo over, and he stumbled and barely gets anything out before Kenny grabs the mix and goes into why Byan Danielson will not get a rematch. This brings out Danielson.

Bryan Danielson says that if Kenny won't give him a rematch, he has no balls, and then presents Kenny “No Balls” Omega, which they quickly start chanting. Bryan then challenges any one of the Elite to a match on Rampage. Kenny says why not right here, right now, and Bryan calls out Christian Cage and Jurassic Express, and The Elite leave and head to the back.

In the back, Tony tires to ask the Lucha Brother a question and Andrade shows and says it has been a long time since they defended the AAA Tag Team Titles. They chase him off after he says he has a lot of friends.

Matt Sydal and Dante Martin vs Cody Rhodes and Lee Johnson w/ Arn Anderson and Brandi Rhodes

We starts with Cody and Dante, and the announcers talk about how the reaction to Cody is mixed. After a couple fo moves, their partners tag in and after a couple of moves, Lee goes to the corner and Arn says he wanted him to start the match and Cody tells him to keep his eye on the ball. Looks like this will be a story line section. Dante gets a few impressive moves in as we go picture in picture for the commercials.

Boy, they are running ads for Cody's show in every commercial break.

We come back to Matt and Lee. Cody and Dante tag in and Cody cleans how to the crowd booing him. Cody hits a Vertibreaker and Dante kicks out at two. We then get all four guys in the ring, and once Lee and Matt go over the ropes, Dante hits a drop kick off the top turnbuckle where he gets incredible height. As Cody is getting exhausted, Lee grabs him and drags him to the corner, tags in and hits a shoulder breaker on Dante and covers for the three count.

Your winners: Cody Rhodes and Lee Johnson

Tony joins them in the ring and Cody calls out Malachai Black and Arn Anderson tells him to stop talking. Arn goes over all of Cody's actions. Arn says if someone tried to take Cody's car at a stoplight, Cody would let him, and Arn would blow him away. He's tired of coaching a loser, and tells Lee Johnson to come with him.

Looks like they are doing a “Crisis of Confidence” story with Cody, but the crowd just isn't into it, since they don't like Cody right now. The crowd buys into heels and faces, but they want everyone to at least be tough, and maybe Cody isn't coming off that way.

Jon Moxley, Eddie Kingston, Darby Allin w/Sting vs Bear Country and Anthony Green

Darby and Green work in the ring as everyone else fights at ringside. By the time Eddie tags in, things have calmed down with everyone up on the apron for a trios match. It doesn't stay on eon one for very long ad Bear Country try to double team and Eddie joins the fight. Bear Country go outside the ring to take a coffin drop from Darby. Mox and Eddie take care of Green with a clothesline and a three count.

Your winners: Jon Moxley, Eddie Kingston and Darby Allin

A quick squash.

Sting comes in and hits a Scorpion Death Drop on Green and we go to a video about the Britt Baker vs Ruby Soho where Ruby says she is ready to climb back to the top again.

We come back to Matt Hardy talking about how he was supposed to make his debut in Rochester a year ago, and then heels the crowd. He is interrupted by Orange Cassidy and the Dark Order with -1.

The Hardy Family Office vs Orange Cassidy and The Dark Order. Yep, a 16 man Tag Team Match

Punk says he is on commentary because he wants to watch things like this and enjoy the moments.

The Dark Order start by arguing and 5 gets his mask taken off and thrown at Evil Uno. This is going to be one of those matches where everyone gets a moment in the spotlight, and after Orange Cassidy gets his moment and is attacked by Jack Evans, we go to picture in picture. Cassidy takes the beat down on the small screen.

When we get back on the big screen, Stu Grayson has been able to fight his way free and the Dark Order gets the tag. Reynolds gets tossed into Uno knocking him off the apron, and then Cassidy is able to get tagged him for a drop off the top rope.

Uno and Reynolds are arguing again and Uno goes to the back. We get everyone in the ring, and Uno and Grayson are met by -1, Anna Jay, Tay Conti and Brodie Lee's wife, Amanda Huber and yells at them to get back to the ring. Uno and Reynolds run in and helps them clear the ring.

The Dark Order is now able to hit HFO members with moves from the ring to the floor. John Silvers gets the pin on Isaiah Kassidy after everyone hits a finishing move on him.

Your winners The Dark Order

The Dark Order celebrate in the ring.

Lio Rush is in a pre-tape that he is now All Elite and talks about how he LBO Lio, and explains how Leveraged Boy Outs work to put over that's he's a rich business guy now.

In the back, FTR is in the back to Tully and cut a promo about how they are revitalized and refocused with his bad news for everyone else, but good news for them and the Pinnacle.

Dan Lambert is in the ring with Scorpio Sky and Ethan Page. He says that Chris Jericho had a good career by carrying AEW on his back. Now, his career is over after getting beat down on Rampage last week. He then says that the fans will never again swing on the balls of Jericho, so Balls in the word of the week like $#!t was last week. Scorpio Shy says he's got the best win lost record in the company. He says Lambert was paying attention to him as a main eventer. Page then heels the crowd. He puts over how tough his is and how he is sick of being overlooked.

Hikaru Shida gives a promo about how she is looking for her 50th win and Serena Deeb says she will be stopping her next week. THAT will be a hell of a match.

Penelope Ford and Bunny vs Tay Conti and Anna Jay

Tay and Anna have matching ring gear rather than Anna's normal Dark Order gear. They attack Bunny and Ford immediately. Rick Knox is the ref, so we don't get anyone tagging in as we get all four women in the ring battling. Ford and Bunny take control as we go to picture in picture.

When we are back on the big screen, Tay is tagged in and she is able to go after Bunny. She hits a series of moves and tags in Anna, and they go for a pin. Again, all four are in the ring. Bunny and Tay fight outside the ring, Anna and Ford fight inside the ring and Anna is abel to lock on the Queenslayer and Ford goes. To. Sleep.

Your winners: Anna Jay and Tay Conti

-1 comes to the ring to celebrate with them.

We get a Promo for the Jade Cargill, Thunder Rosa, Nyla Rose match on Rampage Friday.

MJF comes to the ring, heeling the crowd. He says he will do whatever it takes to make the company successful as long as he gets what he deserves. He says there are four pillars in AEW. Jungle Boy hwo he beat, Sammy Guevara who he heat, Darby Allin who he passes over, and then MJF. He says without him, the company ain't $#!t. He deserves to the AEW World Champion.

MJF says he is good friends with Tony Khan is a good friend, probably one of his two favoriate Khans in wrestling.

He says he has Bruce Pritchard on Speed dial, and CM punk says everyone has his number. Darby Allin comes out and MJF heels him talking about how it's OK to be a number 2 guys. Darby goes face to face, and says MJF says he will leave if he doesn't get what he wants, just go. Darby says he is AEW for life, and how can he be a pillar if MJF hasn't won a championship.

MJF then explains that Darby is straight edge because he was in a car with his drunk uncle, who died in a car crash. He then says it's a tragedy because the wrong man dies.

Old. School. Heel.

Darby says MJF will not break him mentally, and keep talking. MJF leaves the ring.

This was a great confrontation. Probably Darby's best promo because MJF pulled him up to his level.

We then get a rundown of the matches on Rampage and next week's Dynamite, and that is followed by a video to hype the main event between Miro and Sammy Guevara.

Miro (TNT Champion) vs Sammy Guevara

Sammy goes for knee strikes, and Miro dodges the first two and then just drops him during the third. Miro then just stalks him, attacking any time Sammy starts to get up with kicks and stomps. Miro uses Sammy's necklace to attack him after JR says it was stupid to wear jewelry in the ring. Sammy is able to get away and then hits a high cross body to take them both over the top rope so they can brawl outside the ring. Sammy uses the steel steps and ring post to stop Miro and rolls him into the ring.

He leaps off the top and Miro catches him and the suplexes start, as we go picture in picture. They end up brawling outside the ring with Sammy getting some short hope spots and Miro just destroying him.

When we are back on the big screen, Miro has Sammy in a headlock and stopping every bit to nail Sammy with elbows from behind. Miro is just being shown as a monster and it works so well for him. This match really is coming off as a WWF squash match from 1990, and it SHOULD BE.

Sammy is able to get a quick Spanish Fly and gets a few running knee strikes. Miro leaps at Sammy in the corner and goes over the top to the floor. Sammy then leaps onto Miro and Miro leaping over the ring post was impressive, followed by Sammy doing it as well. When they get to the ring, Miro takes over with a spinning slam and a near fall. Miro then goes for Game Over and misses the kick. Sammy gets another knee strike, follows with a flurry of offense in the corner.

Miro is able to clock Sammy in the head when Sammy goes to the top. They battle and Sammy gets a cutter off the top. Sammy goes for the GTH and can't lift him. Miro gets the kick for a two count.

Sammy rolls out of the ring and Miro pulls off a turnbuckle pads around the ring. Fuego Del Sol gets up on the apron and Miro drops him. Sammy runs in, knocks Miro into the turnbuckle, hits the GTH and then goes to thetop. Sammy hits the 630 senton and covers Miro for the three count.

Your winner and NEW TNT Champion: Sammy Guevara
