NJPW G1 CLIMAX CONTINUES, GLEAT-ZERO1 FALLOUT, AKIRA HEADING TO EUROPE AND MORE FROM JAPAN

New Japan Pro Wrestling will hold its sixth G1 Climax 31 show tomorrow in Korakuen Hall.

The full card is:

• B block: EVIL vs. Taichi

• B block: Hiroshi Tanahashi vs. Tama Tonga
• B block: Kazuchika Okada vs. YOSHI-HASHI

DDT Pro-Wrestling has announced the full card for its show on October 12 in Korakuen Hall.

The full card is:

• Kazuki Hirata vs. Yoshihiko
• Riko Kawahata vs. Saki Akai
• Kazusada Higuchi vs. Yuki Ishida
• Danshoku Dieno, Yuki Iino and Yumeto Imanari vs. Soma Takao, Sanshiro Takagi and Toru Owashi
• Chris Brookes, Kazusada Higuchi and Tetsuya Endo vs. MAO, Yuji Hino and Yuki Ueno
• KO-D 8-Man Tag Team Championships: Akito, Hiroshi Yamato, Keigo Nakamura and Yoshiaki Yatsu (c) vs. Hideki Okatani, Jun Akiyama, Mizuki Watase and Yusuke Okada

Akito, Hiroshi Yamato, Keigo Nakamura and Yoshiaki Yatsu will attempt their first defense of the KO-D 8-Man Tag Team Championships against Hideki Okatani, Jun Akiyama, Mizuki Watase and Yusuke Okada.

Shinya Aoki will attempt his second defense of the DDT Extreme Championship against Yumiko Hotta.

Konosuke Takeshita and Shunma Katsumata will attempt their third defense of the KO-D Tag Team Championships against HARASHIMA and Naomi Yoshimura.

Daisuke Sasaki will attempt his first defense of the DDT Universal Championship against Minoru Fujita in the main event.

DDT has also announced three new matches for its show on October 17 in Osaka produced by referee Yukinori Matsui.

There will be a gauntlet tag team match. The first three teams confirmed to compete are Antonio Honda and Trans-Am Hiroshi, Danshoku Dieno and Yuki Iino plus Kengo Takai and Yasu Urano.

Billy Ken Kid, MAO and Shunma Katsumata will face HUB, Soma Takao and Tsubasa. Additionally, Daisuke Sekimoto, HARASHIMA and Yuji Hino will face Kazuaki Mihara, Kazusada Higuchi and Tetsuya Endo.

All Japan Pro Wrestling

All Japan Pro Wrestling has announced Carbell Ito will miss its show on October 16 in Ota Ward Gymnasium.

Ito fractured his right wrist. The AJPW TV 6-Man Tag Team Championships, held by Ito, Seigo Tachibana and Yoshitatsu, have been vacated.

Tachibana, Yoshitatsu and a mystery partner will face Raimu Imai, Takao Omori and TAMURA for the vacant titles on October 16.

Scottish promotion Insane Championship Wrestling has announced All Japan’s Francesco Akira will debut at its ICW Fight Club television taping on October 10 in Glasgow.

Tickets for the taping are available here. ICW Fight Club, the company’s weekly episodic show, is available on Peacock and the WWE Network.

Danish promotion BODYSLAM! Pro Wrestling has also announced Akira will compete at its Anarchy in the D.K. show on November 19 at the Pumpehuset venue in Copenhagen.

Tickets for Anarchy in the D.K. are available here. Doug Williams is among international talent who have been confirmed to appear.

GLEAT

GLEAT will hold a show tomorrow in Shinjuku FACE.

The full card is:

• CIMA and Shigehiro Irie vs. Atsuki Aoyagi and Issei Onitsuka
• Michiko Miyagi vs. Rina Shingaki
• Kaz Hayashi and Minoru Tanaka vs. KAZMA SAKAMOTO and Quiet Storm
• Takanori Ito vs. Yu Iizuka
• Hayato Tamura vs. T-Hawk
• El Lindaman vs. Ryuichi Kawakami

It is also worth noting GLEAT president and CEO Hiroyuki Suzuki will address the future of Hayato Tamura tomorrow.

Earlier this month, Pro Wrestling ZERO1 officials Oki Okidata and Shinjiro Otani held a press conference to announce ZERO1 had ceased its working relationship with GLEAT due to alleged contract tampering involving Tamura.

After Tamura left JUST TAP OUT Professional Wrestling in January to become a freelancer, Okidata said ZERO1 signed a memorandum of understanding with Alpha Japan Promotion – Tamura’s agency.

Later, Okidata explained, he received a message that Tamura had entered negotiations with GLEAT to join the promotion in a full-time capacity. After that, Tamura stopped all communication with ZERO1.

Okidata said GLEAT president and CEO Hiroyuki Suzuki confirmed the mutual interest between GLEAT and Tamura, but Suzuki also called Tamura’s behaviour wrong and unreasonable.

Okidata compared the situation to a person pulling a knife on someone who had been a good friend.

As a result of ceasing its working relationship with GLEAT, ZERO1 also stripped El Lindaman of the ZERO1 International Junior Heavyweight Championship and ZERO1 World Junior Heavyweight Championship. Fuminori Abe later won both titles at ZERO1’s show on September 9 in Shin-Kiba 1st Ring.

While Okidata never specified when Tamura stopped communicating with ZERO1, he last wrestled for the company at its show on May 30 in Korakuen Hall. Tamura then debuted for GLEAT at its show on June 14 in Basement Monstar. He will face T-Hawk tomorrow.
