AJ LEE MAKING RARE SIGNING APPEARANCE, NEW JERSEY'S ISPW ANNOUNCES INDEPENDENT WRESTLING LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD INAUGURAL CLASS & MORE

Former WWE star turned author and screenwriter April Mendez aka the former AJ Lee will be making a rare appearance on Saturday 11/13, signing autographs at the Big Event convention in New York City.  For more details, click here.

Bill Behrens sent word that Adrian Jaoude (WWE's Aruro Ruas) is available for wrestling & autograph/photo op bookings/appearances through him at showbis@aol.com.  Jaoude is based in Orlando, FL.

The memoir for former WWE and current NWA star Tyrus has been pushed back to a 4/26/22 release. 

Tommy Fierro's ISPW promotion will debut in Totowa, NJ on 11/19  at the PAL and has announced that as part of the evening, the promotion will be presenting the inaugural Independent Wrestling Lifetime Achievement Awards to DC Drake, Tommy Cairo, King Kahlua, Sunny Beach and Ray Odyssey,  Fierro's announcement:

Last week I announced that East Coast Independent Wrestling Legends DC Drake, “Surfer” Ray Odyssey, Sunny Beach, King Kaluha, and “Ironman” Tommy Cairo will all be competing in the ISPW Championship Rumble on Friday, November 19th in Totowa, NJ at The Totowa PAL for the opportunity to become the ISPW World Heavyweight Champion. They had NO IDEA that I was working on something MUCH BIGGER for them.

I believe it’s extremely important to keep the history of Independent Wrestling alive and well for all of today’s wrestling fans and wrestlers in this area. Since I am one of the most tenured Independent promoters currently still running events, I feel it’s my responsibility to educate today’s generation on the guys that helped pave the way for all of us in this area.

The first Independent wrestling show I was at, was thanks to Tommy Cairo. Tommy and my brother Raymond worked on a construction job together. When Tommy found out I liked wrestling, he invited my brother to take me. I was only about 10 years old or so and I remember the show being at a hotel in Newark. Tommy introduced me to independent wrestling. What an amazing full-circle experience for me that I can now present him with an Independent Wrestling Lifetime Achievement Award.

DC Drake was WAY before his time and was a trailblazer on the Independents on the Northeast, one of the biggest indie names to ever come from this area. I actually never met Don but have so much respect for him being such a HUGE part of paving the road for indie wrestling up here.

King Kaluha is without question one of the biggest indie names to ever come out of the East Coast. He’s still competing today! I actually used him on my first ever show I promoter when I was only 17 years old. Talk about an indie icon, that’s one right there!

I first met Sunny Beach as a fan at John Arezzi’s Weekend of Champions convention. I’ve gotten to become friends with Rick over the last couple of years and it’s going to be hard to find a nicer guy than him. I’m super excited and so proud I can honor my friend with such a deserving honor.

Ray Odyssey is probably the closest I am with in this group. I went to tons of independent shows he was on as a kid and he was always one of my favorites. He also worked a lot of my ISPW shows back in the day. I always thought Ray should have been a big star in this business. This one for me, is personal. I really like Ray a lot and I know this will mean a lot to him. He truly deserves this honor.

Here’s the coolest part…….These guys are all just finding out about this RIGHT NOW FOR THE FIRST TIME as I’m posting and tagging them in it!

You can see these indie legends get honored and wrestle in the same night!

So please help me in congratulating Don, Ray, Mike, Tommy, and Rick for being the Class of 2021’s Independent Wrestling Lifetime Achievement Award recipients!
