TAG TITLES, MIRO VS. FUEGO & MORE: AEW RAMPAGE REPORT

By Cory Strode on 2021-09-17 23:16:00

It's Friday night, and it's time for AEW Rampage. Our announce booth has Taz, Excalibur, Chris Jericho, and Ricky Starks calling the show, we're at the Prudential Center in Newark New Jersey.

Butcher (and his monocle) and Blade w/The Hardy Family Office vs The Lucha Brothers (AEW Tag Team Champions)

We start off with Blade and Rey Fenix. After Rey gets some kicks and flips in and Butcher tags in and it's all four men in the ring. Butcher and Blade get taken down, and they nails Butcher with the assisted splash. Butcher and Blade are able to turn the tables quickly and trap Rey in the ring, but he is able to escape and tag in Penta, who takes down his opponents with a pair of sling blades.

Penta and Rey dive to the outside onto Butcher and Blade. They return to the ring, and Butcher nails Penta with a cross body and a two count as we go to picture in picture for 90 seconds. The match slows for the first time and Penta takes the small screen beat down.

Penta is able to tag in Rey who cleans house. Rey ends the sequence with a moonsault into a German for a two count. Penta tags in and they hit a double stomp fear factor on Blade. Rey misses the leap onto Butcher on the outside, who comes in and drags his partner to the corner for a tag. He slams Penta, gets a two count and tags in Blade. Blade gets a power slam on Penta for a two count. Penta crawls over for the tag and Rey gets dropped when he tags in and Blade ties Penta's mask to the rope in the corner.

Butcher and Blade double team Rey. Penta takes off his mask and covers his face to make the save, and Rey is able to hit a Rana on Butcher for the three count.

Your winner and still AEW Tag Team Champions: The Lucha Brothers

The Hardy Family Office starts a beat down, but Santana and Ortiz do a run in to drive off the HFO.

We get a video package of Kenny Omega and Bryan Danielson for next week's Dynamite. AEW is really good at putting these together and keeping them short.

Bunny w/Penelope Ford vs Anna Jay w/Tay Conti

Bunny and Anna meet on the ramp way and throw hands. She is able to beat down Bunny and toss her into the ring before the bell sounds. Anna bashes her corner to corner. Bunny rolls out of the ring and they go back to throwing hands. Bunny pulls Anna's shoulder into the ring post, so she will be working over that shoulder through the match.

She keeps working over Anna's shoulder outside the ring and we go to commercial.

When we come back, they are back in the ring, Bunny is still working on the shoulder. Anna is able to kick the back of Bunny's knee and gets a neck breaker for a two count. Anna sets for the queenslayer, but Bunny escapes. Penelope Ford gets on the apron to distract, but Tay pulls hew down and they brawl at ringside. Bunny is distracted by this and Anna is able to get the Surprise Roll Up for the three count and the win.

Your winner: Anna Jay

Bunny attacks after the bell, Tay attacks and then Penelope joins in. Penelope pulls out Brass Knuckles and nails Tay and then pops Anna with them.

We then get a recap of Team Taz's attack on CM Punk Wednesday.

We then get Tony Schiavone in the ring with Matt Hardy and Jack Evans and Matt says that even though he went 0 and 2 tonight, he announces matches between Anna Jay will have to face Penelope Ford. Also, next week The Lucha Bros and Santana and Ortiz will face Private Party, Butcher and Blade.

They then attack a fan dressed like Orange Cassidy, drag him into the ring, hit him with a twist of fate, and cut his hair. Cassidy comes to the ring and Hardy and Evans bail out of the ring.

Britt Baker is out after the commercial and Ruby Soho comes out next to join Baker and Tony in the ring. Taz sings along with Ruby's song, but I would much prefer the version by the Dollyrots. Baker then says that Ruby is here for herself because she doesn't know who she is. In AEW, everyone know who she is.

Ruby responds by saying that the fans know who she is because she reminds them every week. Ruby says she knows exactly who she is. She then says she wants to talk about Baker. The crowd stops her by chanting Ruby Soho. She says Baker is entitled, self centered, and banging some dude in the back. Ruby then says if there is anything more to her.

Baker says Ruby calls herself the runaway, but Rudy didn't run away, she got fired.

Ruby says that's right and it's the best thing that ever happens to her. Because it brought her here. She then says she is surprised Britt can say anything with her hear so far up Tony Khan's ass. She then says she will beat her and take her title next week. Baker then tries to attack Ruby with the belt and misses and Ruby takes her down. Britt rolls out of the ring.

FANTASTIC face to face dueling promos.

We then get the Main Event interview with Mark Henry. Fuego Del Sol says that he is willing to put up anything for another shot at Miro and he will win with the DDT. Miro says Fuego's offer means nothing to him because he knows he will win and he loves to celebrate victories with his God up high and his wife down low.

We get a rundown of next week's two loaded shows and then it's time for the main event.

Miro (TNT Champion) vs Fuego Del Sol with Fuego's car on the line.

Has there ever been a car involved in any match ever where the car doesn't get trashed?

Fuego gets a waist lock and Miro takes his arms apart easily. Fuego goes for quick kicks and then gets Miro out of the ring with a low bridge, and then leaps into Miro's arms outside the ring. Miro tries to throw Fuego into the ringpost, but Fuego escapes out the back and then pushes Miro into the post a second time. Miro tosses Fuego into the crowd, but the crowd helps him back. He leaps again and Miro tosses him to the floor. Miro then begins the beat down on the small screen during commercials.

When we come back onto the big screen, Fuego has leapt onto Miro's back and has brought him down with a sleeper and followed up with a moonsault. Miro is able to lock Fuego into a bear hug and is wearing him down. Fuego beats out with head butts. As Fuego is trying to wear him down, Miro hits the Bulgarian Hammer as Fuego is mid leap. Miro tries for a DDT and Fuego escapes and hits a series of kicks and stomps.

Miro is able to recover and beats down Fuego in the corner. He hits the leaping kick and picks him up and hits another leaping kick and covers for the three count.

Your winner, TNT Champion and owner of Fuego Del Sol's car: Miro

Miro shoves the keys in Fuego's mouth and then locks him in the Game Over. Sammy Guevara rushes the ring and drives off Miro. The belt has been left in the ring and Sammy picks it up raising it to the crowd as we are out of time!

AND THE CAR SURVIVED!!!
