FULL AEW DYNAMITE BLOG

By Cory Strode on 2021-09-15 20:44:00

It's Wednesday, we're at the Prudential Center in Neward NJ, and it's time for AEW Dynamite. We have Jim Ross, Tony Schiavone, Excalibur, and CM Punk on commentary. Punk gets to crowd surf before he joins the commentary team, who go down the card for the night.

Adam Cole vs Frankie Kazarian

If Frankie Kazarian is supposed to be the Elite Hunter, they have GOT to let him get some wins and taking down some members of the elite, but I don't think they will have Cole lose his first match in AEW. Kaz starts off with some hip tosses and headlocks on the mat. Cole is able to toss Kaz over the top rope to the floor and Cole tosses him back in and bows repeatedly to the crowd. As Cole takes over, Punk says he is scouting Cole and repeats it to make sure we heard him.

Kaz is able to come back with a unique submission hold tying up Cole's arms and one leg, until Cole kicks his way out. Cole misses a superkick and Kaz hits a German and gets a two count, and Cole isn't getting as much offense as I thought he would. Kaz is able to block the Panama sunrise and slam Cole instead and gets another two count. They trade blows in the middle of the ring. Kaz wins the exchange, but Cole reverses a hold into a Ushi Garoshi for a two count.

The crowd is chanting This Is Awesome, and it's been a good match.

Cole hits the Panama Sunrise and a knee shot and a three count for the win.

Your winner: Adam Cole

A solid match where Kaz got in a lot and Cole get the reversal at the end for the win.

Cole says it's time for story time. He says hope is a dangerous thing, and the locker room hopes they can keep up with The Elite, and it won't happen. He says Christian Cage, Luchasaurus, and Jungle Boy have gotten under his skin. He calls them out for a six man with him and the Young Bucks, next week on Rampage.

We get a video about the match between the Lucha Bros and Butcher and Blade on Rampage.

When we get back, Tony is backstage with Sammy Guevara and Feugo Del Sol who has a new car. He says he would trade it all in for a chance at the TNT title. And Sammy asks if he is challenging. And Feugo says he is putting his car on the line Friday. They are pushing Rampage HARD tonight after the soft ratings last week.

As JR says, a blister on the ass of life, MJF comes to the ring with Wardlow. He heels New Jersey and then says he wants to talk to those of us at home. He says that he heard he offended people last week, and as the crowd chants Shut the #$@k up, he says he does not care. He then says he will have a conversation with the late, great Brian Pillman, and he shouts at the floor. He says to tell his son if she shows up in Queens, he is going to massacre him. He then taunts the crowd into chanting Pillman, and he's better than you, and you know it.

Brian Pillman Jr. comes out and he sends Wardlow to meet him. Pillman came in from the other end fo the stage and Wardlow meets him and takes his chair away. Pillman low bridges him and grabs the chair. MJF and Wardlow bail and they jack jaws at each other.

We go to a pre-tape between Pillman and JR, JR talks about when he found out that Brian had been born. He then says that last week, he was humiliated, and next week, we need to see MJF get his ass whipped at the Arthur Ashe stadium. Brian says people know his story and he is different from MJF. MJF doesn't know what he's been through, and MJF is stepping in the ring with a Pillman.

I like the MJF gets to have this feud. It raises Pillman up the card and let's MJF be a pure, old school heel. MJF has made this must see just with his mouth.

Backstage we get Christian Cage the Jurassic Express JUNGLE BOY GIVES THE PROMO. JB says that Cole needs to get better friends, and Cage says they have good friends, but he lost the Wednesday night wars and will lose when they meet next week.

FTR w/Tully Blanchard vs Dante Martin and Matt Sydal

This is high fliers against mat wrestlers, so Dante keeps trying to leap and FTR works to keep him down. After Dante is knocked to the floor, Cash beats him up outside the ring. They return to the ring, and Cash is all over Dante, keeping him down and holding him in mat holds. When Dax tags in, Dante is able to fight his way free and tag in Matt, who cleans house. Matt and Dante leaps onto FTR outside the ring and they return to the ring as we go to picture in picture

FTR beats down Matt in the ring as we see commercials. When we return to the big screen, Matt is abel to get a blind tag and gets his leaping moves that look incredible. We get some two counts and then Matt tags in and they BOTH pin a member of FTR for a two count.

FTR is able to get Dante to follow them out fo the ring, and when he gets back in the ring, FTR are able to get a Big Rig and the three count on Dante.

Your winners: FTR

I liked this match a lot because fo the contrast in styles. FTR only did some minor cheating, and it looked as if Dante was just outsmarted.

The announcers put over the Minaru Suzuki is upset his entrance music was cut off. We get a pre-tape of Suzuki and Lance Archer talking about how the first match was not fair. He and Suzuki are challenging Jon Moxley and Eddie Kingston.

We come back and the lights go out.

Malachai Black is in the ring and he's got a mic. He tells the crowd they are members of the house of Black and there is an enemy among them. It's Rosario Dawson, who si on the Go Big home, and she hops the rail. We then see that Cody comes through the crowd and Dawson leaps onto Black allowing Cody to pop him and toss him over the rail. They brawl into the crowd. They brawl up the stairs and I would like to remind you that both guys are in three piece suits.

They keep fighting as we go to commercials.

We get a video about Anna Jay and the Bunny's issues. We then get the Dark Order so they can have Anna start to answer a questions, and instead, the Dark Order starts arguing, and Anna says if they can't get it together, she doesn't want them at ringside and her attack.

Dan Lambert is in the ring and he runs down the crowd. He's in the ring and channels Jim Cornette bashing the company. Instead, we get the music for Chris Jericho who is on his way to the ring with Jake Hager. Lambert tells them to turn off the music, and the crowd keeps singing Jericho's music and Punk says that Lambert is like if Bobby Heenan had a closet full of Affliction clothing.

Jericho leads the crowd in singing Lambert's song “I'm a fat faced dipshit yeah, yeah, yeah.”

Lambert tries to fire back and says if they are America's Top Team, who is on top?

Jericho then says they can't be intimidated. He gives his bona fides and says they will come to the ring and throw hands. Lambert says that if they are going to fight, it will be in a REAL city. He will see them next week in the Big Apple. Jericho says that Page and Jericho are too scared to face them now, he'll fight them in New Jersey.

Nice way to end the Dan Lambert promos from the last few week.

We then get a video from the Gunn Club as to why they attacked Paul Wight. He says they are undefeated as tag teams and trios, they are undefeated and they want respect.

Jade Cargill w/Smart Mark Sterling vs Layla Hirsch

They put over Layla as the home town girl. Layla goes for a double leg, and Cargill is able to stop her, and Layla is able to do it the second time. When they go outside the ring, Cargill pulls Mark in front of her so he takes the attack, and they go back to the ring. Layla is able to get Cargill down and works her over on the mat. Cargill is finally able to get Layla up and power slams her as we go to commercial and we see the match on the small screen.

On the small screen, Cargill keeps control and works over Layla with suplexes outside the ring. They return to the ring and Cargill keeps up the slams and suplexes. When we return to the big screen, Layla has a rear naked choke on Cargill and Cargill escapes. After a struggle, Layla gets a suplex. Cargill rolls outside and Layla hits her with a Tope and then a knee strike inside the ring for a two count. Layla misses a moonsault and Cargill gets a pump kick and the Jaded for the three count and win.

Your winner: Jade Cargill

Layla did a great job of making Cargill seem imperiled, and being the first person to give her a competitive match made her look impressive.

We get a video package of Andrade vs Pac from Rampage. Andrade is still upset that Chave and Jose interfered in his match. The announcers say that Chavo was firedf by Andrade/

Taz comes to the announce booth and gets in Punk's face. Hook, who still rocks the unfortunate hair and t-shirt and dress pants look, and Powerhouse Hobbs attacks from behind. They take Punk out and Hook tells the other announcers to leave. They clear off the announcer's table and Punk takes the ride through the table from Hobbs.

We then get a video package from Shawn Spears about how he gave Darby his first loss in AEW and he will do it again.

Shawn Spears w/Tully Blanchard vs Darby Allin w/His Dad Sting

Crowd is LOUD for Darby.

Spears charges and stomps down Darby in the corner. They go outside the ring, and Spears gets in Sting's face as he beats down Darby. Spears sets up the steel steps away from the ring and uses that to keep up the assault. Darby is able to dodge the knee. Darby goes for a Tope, but Tully gets in front of him. Darby tries to pull Spears into the ring, and Spears grabs him and flips him outside the ring.

Spears takes it back to the ring and rubs off Darby's face paint. We go to commercial. DAMMIT SPEARS, THAT MAKEUP HAD A FAMILY!

Back on the big screen, Spears locks Darby in a scorpion death lock. Darby is able to escape and fight back with a series of kicks. Darby seems to have gone back to his “take endless punishment and then fight back with reckless abandon”. Spears sets up to do the C4 on the steel steps. Instead Darby hits a cutter, and leap onto Spears on the steps, Spears rolls into the ring to take a coffin drop and a three count from Darby.

Your winner: Darby Allin

FTR enter the ring with Darby and Sting enters the ring. We get FTR, Sting and Darby fighting, and Tully hits Sting with a chair to no effect. Sting backs him down and all three men then attack Sting. Darby gets beat down when he comes in the ring and Sting takes a spike pile driver. They wipe off Sting's face paint and the crowd boos them. FTR blows his nose on both men.

We get a pre-recorded promo from Bryan Danielson who talks about how while Kenny Omega is great, but he is the best he's ever been. He's here, he's ready.

Tony is in the ring, and he calls Bryan Danielson to the ring. He asked about a match with Kenny Omega, and before he can reply, here comes the Ice Water Enema (according the Excalibur) Don Callis and Kenny Omega. Don says he is sick of hearing about Danielson. Don is hard to hear over his loud pink suit, but he runs down Danielson and Danielson tells him to shut up. He says he is here to talk to Kenny Omega.

Someday it will be about the tile, but he just wants to know who's better. Don yells no, and there's not chance, and Danielson tells him to shut up again. He reiterates he wanted to talk to Kenny Omega. He baits Omega and then tells him he thinks he's lost his ball and asks if he will fight.

Omega grabs the mic and asks Danielson if he wants the best bout machine, the God of pro wrestling? His answer is yes. They go face to face and the crowd chants AEW. A fantastic moment.

We then hear from Miro and he says that the people he has fought in the past have moved on. He says he will bash Feugo's head and then his car.

We cope back to Matt Hardy upset that Orange Cassidy broke his nose. He is tired of Orange Cassidy and he will take everything away from him that's cool starting with his hair.

We get a rundown for this week's Rampage, and the matches next week on both Dynamite and Rampage.

Jon Moxley and Eddie Kingston vs 2 Point 0

2 Point 0 and Daniel Garcia are waiting for Mox and Eddie when they get to ringside and it's a brawl. In the ring we have Parker and Mox, and Mox takes a charge and then drops Parker face first. This is just going to be a big brawl. Lee tags in and gets a bite and worse and they roll out of the ring. As we go to commercial, all five men are brawling outside the ring and it continues on the small screen.

When they go big screen, the match is back in the ring, with men on the apron waiting for a tag as Mox is beat down by Lee and Parker. Mox hits a lariat and gets the hto tag so Eddie can clean house. Adfter Eddie takes them both down, Mox tags in and Mox clotheslines Parker as Eddie holds him and Mox covers for the three count.

Your winner: Jon Moxley and Eddie Kingston

After the match, we get Minoru Suzuki's music hits and he walks to the ring. As he and Mox face off, Archer pulls Eddie out of the ring. Archer and Eddie brawl through the crowd and Mox and Suzuki fight at ringside. They keep brawling and no one can control them and WE'RE OUT OF TIME
