By Mike Johnson on 2021-09-14 09:52:00

PWInsider.com is sad to report the passing of Kevin Donofrio, who wrestled in the Florida area for years as Cyborg and for Jimmy Hart's XWF promotion in the early 2000s as Drezden.  There is no word on the cause of Donofrio's passing as of this writing.  He was only 59 years old.

Trained by Steve Keirn as a professional wrestling, was a lifelong fan who shifted from collegiate wrestling to the professional ranks.  After he finished in professional wrestling, Donofrio, then in his early 40s, returned to amateur wrestling, winning Greco/Roman and Freestyle Titles for USA Master's Wrestling in December 2004 in the Heavyweight Division.   He was selected as Wrestler of the Year by USA Wrestling for his master's group.

Donofrio, who worked as an assistant coach at Brandon High in Florida in that time period, was an extremely successful businessman in the Tampa Bay area beyond professional wrestling, owning several gyms and other businesses.

As Cyborg, Donofrio was a regular for the Florida independent scene, including Full Impact Pro and the NWA affiliate there at the time.  He also took part in several international tours in Peru and other countries.

As Drezden, Donofrio wrestled Marty Jannetty, Big Vito and Barry Horowitz, among others for Hart's fledgling XWF promotion.ider.

PWInsider.com sends our deepest condolences to the family, friends and fans of Kevin Donofrio.
