PWInsider.com is ecstatic to pass on the following announcement former Impact Wrestling personality Don West made earlier this evening:
I want to give everyone an update
— Don West (@DonWestDeals) September 4, 2021
After 8 weeks of chemotherapy and 13 treatments of radiation my cancer is now in remission
Thank you for everyone’s prayers because they truly worked
I look forward to getting back on the radio doing what I love
West, who was an extremely important part of TNA/Impact Wrestling during his time with the company from 2002 through 2012, announced in June that he had been diagnosed with brain lymphoma, a form of cancer, and would undergo immediate treatment.
West was an extremely popular part of TNA as an announcer, manager and heading up the company's merchandise side from 2002 through 2012, when he made the decision to exit the company to take a position as the General Manager of the Wenatchee Wild hockey team in Wenatchee, Washington. West, who has popped up occasionally in pro wrestling at Starrcast events in recent years, has been doing radio on KPQ 560 in Washington. West took a hiatus from his broadcasting duties to focus on his health and we look forward to hearing of his return to the airwaves.
Don first became known nationally as a pitchman for Shop at Home, where he became so popular Will Ferrell once played him in a sketch on NBC's Saturday Night Live.
All our continued best to Don and his entire family!!!
Thanks to Billy Krotchsen.
