This week's edition of BTI was hosted again by Jon Burton, Gia Miller and Josh Mathews.
They plugged Bound for Glory and then went to highlights of last week's Good Brothers vs. Willie Mack & Rich Swann match.
They recapped Tommy Dreamer promising that he would earn a chance to wrestle Christian Cage one more time.
They recapped last week's Chris Sabin vs. Sami Callihan match as well as Eddie Edwards telling Callihan they were even.
They showed Eric Young vs. Eddie Edwards from last year's Victory Road.
Jake Something vs. John Skyler
They had some nice back and forth grappling as they tried to test the other's power. Something won that battle and tossed Skyler across the ring out of a vertical suplex. He sent Skyler into the ropes but missed several clotheslines, only to run him down. The crowd chanted, "That was Something", which is the best original chant I've heard in a long time.
Skyler used a knee to knock Something to the floor and then ran around the ring, drilling him into the ring post. Something nailed a series of rights once they were back in the ring. Skyler avoided a neckbreaker attempt and drilled Something to the mat, then cinched in a side headlock. The crowd chanted for Jake.
Skyler turned it into a front chancery but Something battled his way to his feet and backdropped Skyler. Skyler rebounded with a DDT but Something kicked up at two. They fired back and forth with some stiff rights. Something nailed a big lariat for a two count.
They continued to battle until Something wailed away with a big lariat. Skyler kicked away a charge but is caught with a kick and a clubbing shot across the back. Something hit the sit-out powerbomb for a close two count. They played it like it was a big shocking moment.
Skyler rolled to the apron outside and snapped Something's throat across the top rope. He nailed a slingshot spear for a two count. He began using the Garvin Stomp. HUGE POP. He tried to muscle over Something for a Boston Crab but was flipped off. Jake drilled him down with a big knee strike. He speared Skyler HARD in the corner then nailed the Black Hole Slam for the pin.
Your winner, Jake Something!
GREAT showing from each.
The hosts broke down tonight's Impact Wrestling lineup to close out the show.
