COMPLETE AEW DYNAMITE 100 REPORT

By Anthony Pires on 2021-09-01 20:19:00

If you see Chicago rockin, do NOT come a knockin!  We are live for AEW Dynamite.  It is All Out Weekend as Jim Ross, Tony Schiavone and Excalibur welcome us to NOW Arena.  The direction of All Out takes shape tonight!  You think this crowd is ready?

BTW Happy 100th episode to Dynamite!

FTR (Cash Wheeler & Dax Harwood) w/ Tully Blanchard vs. Santana & Ortiz

I have to admit, I'm surprised to see Cash back.  That injury looked horrible a few weeks ago.  Dax and Santana kick us off.  FTR is in Midnight Express gear.  Lockup, headlock takedown by Dax, Santana kicks out.  FTR with a hug.  Lockup, takedown by Dax into a headlock.  Dax with a shoulderblock.  Santana with a chop, Dax responds in kind.  They're trading hard chops.  Neither can execute the hip toss and all 4 are brawling.  FTR get clotheslined to the outside.  Stereo tope suicidas by Santana and Ortiz.  Santana with a springboard cannonball on the out side to FTR.  Back in the ring, Ortiz tags in and hits a deep armbar.  Bodyslam by Dax.  Cash tags in and sends Ortiz into the post twice.  Dropkick by Cash for 1.  Tag to Dax and he delivers a knee into a snap mare. Dax stomps the left arm.  Deep armbar by Dax.

Cash rips off a buckle pad. FTR wrenches Ortiz' arm on the exposed post.  Elbow by Ortiz into a one footed dropkick.  Takedown by Ortiz, both men are down. Santana tags in and he fires away at both members of FTR.  3Amigos by Santana, who just comes off like a complete star.  Santana with a frog splash for 2.  Ortiz tags in.  Double belly to back into an assisted cutter by Proud and Powerful for 2.  Cash rolls out but Santana rolls him back in.  Blind uppercut by Cash leads to a brainbuster by Dax for 2.

Chicago declares this to be awesome.  Rollup by Ortiz for 2 on Cash.  Double facebuster by Santana and Ortiz for 2.  Ortiz tags in but Dax shoves Santans off the top.  Gory Special for 2 by Cash.  Dax tags in and he sets up a superplex.  No, it's PowerPlex but Santana interrupts it.  Enziguiri by Ortiz but a Big Rig gets a 2, broken up by Santana.  A standing ovation!  Well deserved.  Bling tag by Santana.  Lungblower and a double facebuster by Proud and Powerful and Santana scores the pin on Cash Wheeler

WINNERS: Santana and Ortiz

Daniel Garcia and 2.0 have some harsh words for Darby Allin ahead of their match on Rampage.

The familiar tones of "Cult of Personality" reverberate throughout the arena as CM Punk emerges.  Chicago is very happy to see him.  Punk wonders if Chicago is sick of him yet.  He's going to enjoy every second of this.

Daniel Garcia and 2.0 attack immediately.  Cue Darby Allin and Sting and they brawl with 2.0 and Garcia.  Punk recovers and delivers a GTS.  Punk and Allin go face to face.

Sting has got the mic. He admits he always wanted to share a ring with Punk.  Much respect.  Sting said it felt so good clearing traffic.  Sting declares that he won't be at ringside Sunday.  This needs to be mano y mano.  This one needs to headline Sunday, right?

We get a video package of Sunday's AEW World Title Match between Christian Cage and Kenny Omega.

Tony Schiavone, earlier today, met with MJF.  Tony can't hide his disdain for MJF, who spouts off every gimmick Jericho had.  He compared Chris Jericho to the last 2 fights of Muhammad Ali.  He says Jericho is an addict.  He needs the spotlight and is desperate to get it back. On Sunday, the music dies.

Orange Cassidy vs. Jack Evans

Matt Hardy attacks Cassidy and gets ejected from ringside.  Evans with a roundhouse kick into kneelifts.  One footed dropkick, Evans hits a springboard elbow.  Yes kick by Evans.  Muy Thai clinch by Evans but Cassidy spikes him with a spinning DDT.  Evans rolls out but Cassidy hits a tope suicida.  Cross body for 2 by Cassidy.  Michinoku Driver by Cassidy for 2.  Patented vicious kicks by Cassidy. They reverse standing switches.  Cassidy gets backdropped to the apron and nails a forearm.  Cassidy blocks a superplex as we go to commercial.

We're back Cassidy has won the match from a small package during the break.

WINNER: Orange Cassidy

Big Money Matt with a post match attack.  Wheeler Yuta and Chuck Taylor with the save but the rest of HFO cuts them off and takes over. Jungle Boy and Luchasarus play the saviors here and the HFO runs off.

Eddie Kingston with some words of warning for TNT Champion Miro, ahead of Sunday Night's title match.  Miro says that God's Favorite Champion only lays down for his wife in a hotel room.  OK!

Good Ol JR is in the ring for his first ever in ring interview in AEW.  He seems very emotional as he introduces Chris Jericho.  Jericho drinks in the crowd singing his song.  He thanks JR for recruiting him to the main event 22 years ago. He declares himself obsessed with beating MJF.  His career means nothing if can't exorcise this demon.  Chicago wants more.  If he loses Sunday, he'll leave with no regrets and become the greatest commentator ever.  Le Champion is fired up.  No angle, just passion ahead of tonight's Final Fight.

We get a video of CM Punk and Darby Allin.

Brian Cage vs. Powerhouse Hobbs

Cage attacks Hobbs as he comes down the aisle.  Cage dominates the action until it finally hits the ring to kick us off officially.  As the bell rings, we go to commercial.

As we come back, Hobbs is shoulderblocking Cage in the corner.  Tony is interrupted by a text from Dr. Britt Baker, who wants to talk to him about a huge free agent signing (Bay Bay?).  Superkick into an exploder by Cage.  Cage with a running uppercut for 2. Hobbs with a spinebuste for 2.  Hobbs is unhappy with Rick Knox. Knee strike into a fireman takedown by Cage.  Deadlift suplex by Cage off the 2nd rope.  Hook to the apron for the distraction. Ricky Starks nails Cage with the FTW belt and Hobbs hits a running side slam for the pin.

WINNER: Powerhouse Hobbs

We go to Malakai Black, who is not happy with Lee Johnson interfering last week.  He was kind and granted Cody, Arn and Brock Anderson a quick death.  Lee Johnson will not be so lucky.

QT and the Factory are out and Marshall calls out Paul Wight and, of course, they all attack Wight.  The advantage does not last.  Wight clears out the ring.  The Gunn Club, after Wight is all clear, run out to even the odds. They celebrate but Billy Gunn nails Wight with a steel chair.  The Gunn club has turned heel.  QT seems very surprised as the Gunn Club walk past him.  QT and company nail a diamond cutter on Wight and celebrate.

Dr. Britt Baker is with Tony, who announces Jamie and Reba will be entered in the Casino Battle Royal.  Her big free agent announcement?  Baker has re signed a long term deal with AEW.

Penelope Ford w/The Bunny vs. Tay Conti

Tay with a cross body to the outside on Ford and the Bunny.  Hiptosses by Conti, she applies a top wristlock. Conti with a cravate into a series of forearms into a backbreaker for 2. Pump kick by Conti for 2.  Conti with a kick to the face. She goes to the top but Ford hits the ropes, knocking Conti to the outside as we go to, you guessed it, commercial.

We're back and Conti escapes a surfboard.  Ford sends her into the buckle and misses a springboard elbow. Conti misses a kick but hits a diving cross body.  Conti with a kick and spinning side slam for 2.  Ford sends Conti into the rope and applies a 1/2 crab.  She goes for the Muta Lock and Conti with a Calf slicer, Ford makes the ropes.  Pump kicks by Conti.  Ford with a gut buster for 2.  Conti with a small package for 2.  Bunny distracts Conti but Ford collides with her.  Conti with the rollup for the pin.

WINNER: Tay Conti

Ford and the Bunny with a post match attack, the returning Ana Jay with the save.  Bunny and Jay celebrate.  Excalibur announces that Ana Jay is going to be in the battle royal.

Jade Cargill and Nyla Rose attack Thunder Rosa in the back.  We have a tentative partnership.

We get a video package about the Final Fight between MJF and Jericho.  AEW is really educating their potential new fans with their packages tonight.  Good job on the hard sell for Sunday's show.

The Young Bucks & The Good Brothers w/Don Callis vs. The Lucha Bros & Jurassic Express w/Marko Stunt

I'm not even going to try.  Bullet point time

  • There is a cage above the ring. Makes sense, as the PPV is taking place at NOW arena
  • Don Callis has joined the booth
  • Gallows and Luchasaurus square off and Gallows fires away in the corner
  • Back elbow by Gallows
  • Vertical Suplex by Luchasaurus
  • Nick Jackson tags in as does Rey Fenix.  They can't do anything but avoid the big moves.
  • All 8 brawl in the ring
  • Back from commercial, The Bucks are double teaming Jungle Boy.
  • Jungle Boy with a chop and a knee strike and het gets the tag to Fenix.
  • Fenix is superkicking the Bucks and Gallows
  • Penta tags in and and nails an assisted kick to the nether region
  • Nick Jackson takes the Lucha Bros down with an armdrag and headscissors.
  • Anderson and Luchasaurus are now legal, Luchasaurus with a German and chokes Gallows to the outsode.
  • Luchasaurus sends Nick Jackson onto his partners and chucks Jungle Boy on them
  • Brandon Cutler with the aerosol spray can to Feniz.  The Good Brothers hit the Magic Killer for 2.  Saved by Penta
  • Fenix with a double cutter on the Bucks
  • Bucks, out of nowhere, nail the Meltzer Driver for the pin on Fenix

WINNERS: The Young Bucks and The Good Brothers

Kenny Omega and Michael Nakazawa hit the ring to celebrate.  The Elite attack the fallen opponents.  Magic Killer to Luchasaurus through a table.  Christian Cage with the save but he gets overwhelmed.  Kendo sticks abound by the Elite.  Omega with the mic and he demands the cage be lowered.  Apparently, he stole the keys earlier today. Cage and the Luch Brothers are trapped in the cage with The Elite.  Frankie Kazarian, Daunte Martin, Marko Stunt try to climb the cage but the Elite hold them off.  Big time assault by the Elite.  Our commentators ponder what kind of shape Sunday's challengers as The Elite hit the BTE Trigger.
