PUNK DEBUTS: COMPLETE AEW RAMPAGE REPORT

By Cory Strode on 2021-08-20 22:43:00

It's Friday, we're in Chicago Illinois at the United Center. Mike Johnson is at the event and I am sitting in my living room, watching it on TNT. It's time for AEW Dynamite's First Dance, and our announcers are Excalibur, Taz, Mark Henry, and Jim Ross. We have the largest crowd in AEW History and we're off:

The crowd is chanting CM Punk as the announcers let us know about the matches tonight.

The strains of “Cult Of Personality” play and CM Punk walks out onto the stage. He has some gray in his bread and takes his time coming to the ring. He leaps into the crowd and then makes his way to the ring. He hugs people at ringside, high fives and just drinks in the moment. We go to commercials as he climbs to the top turnbuckle.

Punk says he didn't plan anything because he didn't know what he would be saying. The crowd chants his name and he says he has heard then for 7 years. He has a lot to say and doesn't have time for it all tonight, but he will have time on upcoming shows. He says if anyone was disappointed by his personal choices, he understands and says that if he didn't step away, he couldn't have gotten healthy.

Punk takes off the hoodie to show his new t-shirt, sits down cross legged. He talks about how he left Ring of Honor and he had tears in his eyes, and now he knows it was because he had worked to build a place where people could love Professional Wrestling. He cried because he knew it would be hard where he went and on that day he left professional wrestling, and now, eh's back and he's back for the fans. And for himself. And because there was a lot fo young talent he wishes he could have worked with ten years ago.

He's back because he wants to work with your talent who had their love of wrestling stamped out. And he has scored to settle with people in the locker room. He names Darby Allin who is in the rafters with Sting. He says Darby has done crazy stuff and he always come back, and he's here to help Darby, and there is nothing more dangerous than wrestling CM Punk than wrestling CM Punk in Chicago. And he will see them and all of us at All Out.

He then says 7 years is a long time to wait, so on your way out, grab a free ice cream bar on him.

In the back, Christian Cage is with Jurassic Express and he talks up them beating Private Party tonight and then beating the Bucks at All Out. He then says he's in Kenny Omega's head again.

Private Party w/ Matt Hardy vs Jurassic Express w/ Marko Stunt in the tag team tournament.

Before they start, we get The Young Bucks music and they come out with Brandon Cutler to watch the match on the ramp.

JB and Kassidy start fast with a quick series of one counts. Marq Quen tags in and they try to double team, but JB is able to keep them both at bay with a series of leaps and kicks. JB tries to tag in Luchasuarus, but Quen drops to the mat to stop him. Kassidy comes in and they put the boots to JB as they move to the small screen. JB gets the eat down during the commercials.

When we get back on the big screen, JB makes the hot tag and Luchasuarus cleans house. Once he has Quen in his grasp, he tags in JB and they go to the top turnbuckle. JB ends up on Luchasuarus's shoulders and Quen hits a Destroyer and covers for a two count, broken up by Luchasuarus. Luchasuarus is tossed outside and Quen goes for a shooting star press off the ropes and generally misses Luchasuarus.

They all get back on the apron, Private Party goes for the silly string, but Jurassic Express catches Kassidy and turns it into a magic killer and a cover for a two count. Marko and Matt Hardy get into it on the apron and Kassidy takes control. He tags in Quen and they go for Gin and Juice, but JB tuns it into a DDT. The Jurassic Express hit Thoracic Express and cover Quen for the three count.

Your winners and moving on in the tournament, Jurassic Express

In the back, Kenny Omega and Don Callis talk about how the Jurassic Express cheated on Wednesday, and Kenny will beat Christian at All Out.

Jade Cargill vs Kiera Hogan

We get a video setting up the match between the two.

Match was less than a minute with Jade getting the Jaded and the three count.

Your winner: Jade Cargill

They show some highlights from Punk showing up and that he will be at Dynamite on Wednesday.

They then run down the card for Dynamite.

Backstage, Mark Henry interviews 2.0 about the match Garcia has with Jon Moxley later. Mox is brought in and says he will be in the ring in 30 seconds where he will commit a felony assault. He then gives a fantastic promo about how is gonna hurt this kid.

Jon Moxley vs Daniel Garcia

Mox comes through the crowd, gets a short pep talk from Eddie Kingston and 2.0 are already in the ring.

Max attacks Garcia immediately and pounds him down in the corner and then starts working him in the middle of the ring with kicks. Garcia attacks the leg that they hit with a steel bar on Wednesday and then gets Mox down on the mat and keeps on it. Mox is able to get up and then gets to hitting Garcia with German Suplexes and Garcia is able to get an ankle lock.

Mox gets to the rope and Garcia argues with the ref, Giving Mox a chance to get up and they throw hands in the middle of the ring. Mox tries for a paradigm shift, but Garcia is able to escape and lock Mox in a sharp shooter. Mox grabs a bulldog choke and Garcia has to tap out.

Your winner: Jon Moxley

2.0 jump Mox and Kingston, but Sting and Darby Allin come to the ring to even the odds. 2.0 gets tossed into the corner, and Sting hits the Stinger splash. Sting then hits a scorpion death drop, Darby hits a coffin drop and the babyfaces are standing tall as we are out of time.
